Zeppi's Bajtra
Prickly pear fruit (Opuntia ficus-indica)

Bajtra is a liqueur from Malta which is made from the prickly pear[1] (Opuntia ficus-indica) that originated in the Americas and was introduced to the Maltese islands. The majority of the fruit used to produce the drink is grown on the island of Gozo.[2] Its taste is sweet with a floral hint, and has been compared by some to watermelon flavoured liquor.[3] The drink is becoming popular in the United States, where it is used with tequila, in white wine or in long drinks such as ice tea. It can be combined with sangria to make a Patel Cocktail.
