The Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (also known as IIM T or IIM Trichy) is a public graduate business school located on Tiruchirappalli-Pudukkottai National Highway 336, Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 2011, it is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Management the Indian government had set up during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan[2] and was mentored by IIM Bangalore.[3] It was the 11th IIM to be set up in India. Classes for the first batch began on 15 June 2011.[4]

Campus

The institute temporarily operated at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli campus and the permanent campus was inaugurated on April 03, 2017 by Prakash Javadekar.[5][6]

Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli's permanent campus is located on a 172.27 acres (69.72 ha) land.[7] In its full shape, the 584 crore (US$70 million) permanent campus will comprise of student hostels, faculty residences, a library, recreational facilities and a Management Development Centre.[8][9]

The Indian Institute of Management Trichy has set up a satellite campus at Chennai. It offers a two-year postgraduate programme for working professionals from this campus.[10]

Academic programs

IIM Trichy offers a two-year full-time residential Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), a two-year Post Graduate Programme in Business Management (PGPBM) for working executives at Chennai campus,[11] and a Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) for doctoral candidates.

IIM Tiruchirappalli was ranked 13 among in National Institutional Ranking Framework management school ranking of 2017.[12] and 24 by Careers360's Top MBA Colleges in India 2017, 19 among government institutes.[13]

Events

IIMT hosts several yearly events. Dhruva is a cultural and management fest held in the second half of the month of October.[14][15][16] E-Summit is an entrepreneurial summit held in the month of November.[17][18] HR Conclave is an industry-academia interaction event focused on Human Resources.[19][20][21][22] Other events include Sanskriti - an annual war of sections,[23] Sangram - an inter-IIM sports meet,[24][25] and Kurukshetra - an inter-section sports tournament.[26]
