[edit] Plot summary

In this episode, Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the murder of a judge's clerk, Emily, who was killed in the magistrate's home. The clues point to a low-profile hitman, but Goren and Eames turn their attention to the judge's personal life. The detectives discover the judge took credit for an article written by the victim and, if anyone found out, the judge would lose a seat on the appellate court he is hoping for. Detectives believe an ex-con named Arnie was hired by Judge Sabatelli, another judge up for the appellate court, to kill Emily. When Sabatelli turned against Arnie, Goren convinces him (Arnie) to flip on the judge.
