FC Internazionale Milano[edit]

Hi. You asked which is correct "Inter have won" or "Inter has won". I'm not sure which is correct. In American English it would be "has", but in British English it would be "have". When dealing with American vs. British English we look first to see if the subject has a strong tie to one country or the other. In this case it doesn't. After that we see which English variant was used first in the article then use that. This requires going through the history of the article and figuring it out. I haven't done this and don't feel particularly inclined to do so, but if you want to then please do so. Or perhaps you can come up with a different way to phrase it in order to avoid the issue altogether. SQGibbon (talk) 07:21, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Merging articles[edit]

Dipralb, you don't need any special permission to merge the articles you posted at Wikipedia:Proposed mergers. Simply:

  1. Copy and paste the content,
  2. Make the source article a redirect, by replacing its content with #REDIRECT [[articlename]] {{R from merge}}
  3. Then place the template {{merged-to}} and {{merged-from}} on each talk page so that future editors know the articles were merged.

Thanks, D O N D E groovily Talk to me 05:18, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

I forgot something. When you merge articles, be sure to include "Merge in foo" in the edit summary for the destination, and put "Redirect after merge to bar" in the edit summary for the source page. Thanks, D O N D E groovily Talk to me 05:12, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

L'Orologiaio"[edit]

New Inter RM[edit]

Hey man, I think it's a little too soon after the last one to be thinking about opening a new move discussion. Maybe in a month or so. – PeeJay 22:51, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

If you want to start a new RM, I would support you. I just don't have time to do it myself these days. – PeeJay 18:40, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 30[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Aristide Guarneri, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Defender (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

History of Internazionale redirects[edit]

I don't really see a problem with having multiple directs. I assume one previously redirected to the other, and now they both redirect to the main page. – PeeJay 11:38, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

Inter Milan[edit]

Hi there, Dipralb. I noticed that you recently removed some content from the stadium-section of Inter Milan without explaining why. It would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary in the future. I reverted your change, but feel free to revert me if you think I did a mistake, as long as you include an edit summary. Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 10:54, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Canvassing[edit]

Please have a read of WP:CANVASS. It is absolutely not OK to notify only editors who you think will support your viewpoint of a discussion. Not only is this poor form, if you continue to do it it can result in a block and it actually hurts your chances in the RM because the closing admin will take it into account and it will weigh against your 'side'. Jenks24 (talk) 12:02, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Unless you immediately notify all editors involved in the previous RM with a neutral note about the latest RM I will report you to WP:ANI. Your selective canvassing to advance your position is reprehensible. You can redress the balance as suggested in the final section of WP:VOTESTACKING. Leaky Caldron 12:06, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
I will not. It is your responsibility and I find your explanation about canvassing as weak as your argument for the name change. You have been making noises on user talk pages about this matter since the change last year so it is no surprise to me that you have now contacted users to assist your position. WP:ANI will take a dim view and I suggest you notify others to redress the balance asap. Leaky Caldron 12:24, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. It is not really about numbers. WP:CANVASSING#Appropriate notification & WP:VOTESTACKING suggests that all users involved in a previous discussion might be informed. You could ask whether this is appropriate on the Inter Milan talk page as part of the RM.
I would also point out that while you support the RM you have stated in the discussion that the name change should be "F.C. Internazionale" which is not the RM. You cannot sensibly support the RM if you think it should be something else. Leaky Caldron 12:49, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
I don't think you've comprehended a single word of the 6 pieces of policy guidance I have repeatedly quoted. This is the ENGLISH Wikipedia, not the Italian. "Internazionale" is not an English word. Inter Milan is not typically referred to in English speaking sources as "F.C. Internazionale". The title must reflect accepted use in the ENGLISH language. That is the required policy, not your preferred Italian version. Leaky Caldron 16:46, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

another thing......[edit]

I noticed that you have posted comments in a language other than English. When on the English-language Wikipedia, please always use English, no matter to whom you address your comments. This is so that comments may be comprehensible to the community at large. If the use of another language is unavoidable, please provide a translation of the comments. For more details, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. Leaky Caldron 17:19, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
