FC Internazionale Milano

Hi. You asked which is correct "Inter have won" or "Inter has won". I'm not sure which is correct. In American English it would be "has", but in British English it would be "have". When dealing with American vs. British English we look first to see if the subject has a strong tie to one country or the other. In this case it doesn't. After that we see which English variant was used first in the article then use that. This requires going through the history of the article and figuring it out. I haven't done this and don't feel particularly inclined to do so, but if you want to then please do so. Or perhaps you can come up with a different way to phrase it in order to avoid the issue altogether. SQGibbon (talk) 07:21, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Merging articles

Dipralb, you don't need any special permission to merge the articles you posted at Wikipedia:Proposed mergers. Simply:

1. Copy and paste the content,
2. Make the source article a redirect, by replacing its content with #REDIRECT [[articlename]] {{R from merge}}
3. Then place the template {{merged-to}} and {{merged-from}} on each talk page so that future editors know the articles were merged.

Please have a read of WP:CANVASS. It is absolutely not OK to notify only editors who you think will support your viewpoint of a discussion. Not only is this poor form, if you continue to do it it can result in a block and it actually hurts your chances in the RM because the closing admin will take it into account and it will weigh against your 'side'. Thanks. It is not really about numbers. WP:CANVASSING#Appropriate notification & WP:VOTESTACKING suggests that all users involved in a previous discussion might be informed. You could ask whether this is appropriate on the Inter Milan talk page as part of the RM.
I would also point out that while you support the RM you have stated in the discussion that the name change should be "F.C. Internazionale" which is not the RM. You cannot sensibly support the RM if you think it should be something else. Leaky Caldron 12:49, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

I don't think you've comprehended a single word of the 6 pieces of policy guidance I have repeatedly quoted. This is the ENGLISH Wikipedia, not the Italian. "Internazionale" is not an English word. Inter Milan is not typically referred to in English speaking sources as "F.C. Internazionale". The title must reflect accepted use in the ENGLISH language. DC Extended Universe

I have restored the page to what it was prior to your deletions of information. You cannot delete info without citing reasons, and discussing why you are doing so. Each of the movies listed in the 'In development' section are any of the projects that at this point in time are in some form of production development. The studio is slow to release information and so it is simply a chart to show films that the studio has announced and their current/most recent crew members. For example - we know that Matt Reeves is directing and 'has a story figured out', but as far as we know without any press release from the studio, he has reworked Ben Affleck & Geoff John's story treatment and there is no official screenwriter yet. F.C. Internazionale Milano RM

There's always the possibility of a new RM, I just don't think it would do any good. The idiots got their way when the article was moved to Inter Milan, and now they don't see any good reason to move it back. The club may not refer to themselves by that name, but there are plenty of third-party sources that do, and that's what matters. If the article were still at F.C. Internazionale Milano, I don't think there would be a good reason to move it anywhere else, but that's not the situation we're in, and I can't find an overriding reason to change the status quo right now. – PeeJay 16:58, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

The trouble with appealing to WP:NC is that Inter Milan fits just as many of the criteria as F.C. Internazionale Milano. "Inter Milan" fits the recognizability, naturalness, precision and conciseness criteria, while "F.C. Internazionale Milano" fits recognizability and consistency (and perhaps arguably a couple of others). The guideline you really want to cite is Wikipedia:Naming conventions (sports teams), which says that the official name should be used, provided it is at least used to a certain degree in the English-language media. What info do you think the table is missing? All I see is opposition goalscorers (irrelevant) and referees (rejected by editors a couple of years ago). The {{footballbox collapsible}} template takes up far more space and isn't as easy to read, and in fact removes the league position after each game. Copying within Wikipedia

You did not identify the source of the material in your edit. It appears to be Inter Milan. Copying within Wikipedia is acceptable but it must be attributed.

This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. However, for future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, linking to the source article and adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.

While best practices are that attribution should be added to the edit summary at the time the edit is made, the linked article on best practices describes the appropriate steps to add attribution after the fact. I have done so for you this time, but hope you will follow best practices yourself next time.
