Welcome![edit]

Hello, Lordgentual, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as VICTORIA ADAOBI OBASI, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Theroadislong (talk) 16:40, 8 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on VICTORIA ADAOBI OBASI requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. New articles[edit]

Hi. Please make sure that you have read all the guidelines before trying to create new articles. I have moved your article on Mr Eze to your userspace so you can work on it before trying to make it into an article. At the moment it just reads like a CV. Deb (talk) 08:44, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, FRANCIS CHUKWUEMEKA EZE[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, FRANCIS CHUKWUEMEKA EZE. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Francis Chukwuemeka Eze. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Francis Chukwuemeka Eze. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Vermont | reply here 10:26, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Ezzeldin Muktar Abdurahman[edit]

Hello Lordgentual,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ezzeldin Muktar Abdurahman for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Addition of images[edit]

Hi Lordgentual. I see that you have been adding images from Commons to many articles. Thank you! Out of curiosity, are these edits script-assisted? You seem to be adding them quite rapidly. – Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 22:50, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's always good to see images added to articles without them. A couple of points about adding them to articles about organisms that have no images already:

  • Normally add the first image in the article to the taxobox.
  • The talk page of the article will likely have |needs-photo=yes (or some equivalent) in the wikiproject template(s). Please remove this.

Thanks! Peter coxhead (talk) 05:43, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I will note that when you add images with captions, you should always make sure the scientific names are italicized and wikilinked. For example, in the Ptocheuusa article you edited today, you added a caption that should have been linked to that species' article, as well as italicized. If you are using a script to make these captions, please consider doing it manually instead, so other editors do not have to go in to add italics and links. Thanks, Dyanega (talk) 16:39, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Dyanega, i will start linking it now. Lordgentual (talk) 16:45, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It is okay to link to a species page that does not yet exist (a "redlink"); it can actually be helpful to alert other editors to the need for a specific article, when prioritizing efforts. Dyanega (talk) 16:56, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's also important to check that the image really belongs on the page. You added an image to Thiodina with a wikilink in the caption to Thiodina puerpera. But if you follow this link, you'll see that Thiodina puerpera is a synonym of the now accepted name Colonus puerperus, and the image is already in that article. Do not automatically believe that identifications, categories, etc. in Wikimedia Commons are correct! Peter coxhead (talk) 07:54, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Peter coxhead, i just discovered now that some of the species were already transferred to Colonus, thanks for the observation, i will be more careful now. Lordgentual (talk) 08:10, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
None of my comments should be taken to discourage you from adding images, which is a useful task. It's just that it's not quite as simple a task as it may seem. Peter coxhead (talk) 08:16, 21 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I really appreciate your observations as it will make me a better editor. I will try to be more careful, but i will also appreciate any tip or observation from you especially when i do something wrong.

I have sent you a note about a page you started[edit]
