The article Carol Kicinski has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

BLP - Notability and lack of sources that are independent of the subject.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Concerns regarding your edits[edit]

DRV question[edit]

I believe that the article's history has been restored so that people reviewing the deletion can access what was there. I believe standard practice would be to wait until that discussion concludes before making changes to the article. You could probably work up a version in your sandbox if you don't want to wait. Your version could later be pasted over the article (if it is in fact restored and possibly relisted at Articles for Deletion). I hope this makes sense. Have a happy every day. Candleabracadabra (talk) 14:27, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help, and yes it makes sense. I think I will wait to see what happens with the discussion before creating a new version, I'd rather just edit what I already have just to make it easier for me. Should I just keep checking the discussion page every now and then to see the progress? I'm assuming someone will let me know when and if it's restored so I can edit it right away, I would hate for it to be restored and I don't know about it in time to make corrections. Thanks again, --M.Renae (talk) 17:30, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think those discussions usually run 7-10 days. It seems quite likely it will be restored. Then it may or may not be taken to another deletion discussion. You can check your "watchlist" (button at the top of your page) to keep an eye on article you have "watched" by clicking the star at the top of them. I will try to keep an eye out and let you know here if and when I see anything. Take care. Candleabracadabra (talk) 20:57, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for all your help. I'll keep checking back periodically to see how the discussion goes and see if there are any changes with the status of the article. --M.Renae (talk) 15:55, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My pleasure. To be clear, you can (I think) use the history of the article to copy what was there over to your sandbox so you can work on it. And then you can copy that version back over if the article is in fact restored. I don't think it should be necessary to wait if you want to work on it in the meantime. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, M.Renae. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Carol Kicinski, you may have a conflict of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
