Speedy deletion declined: Uroyoán Walker

Hello Mr RD. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Uroyoán Walker, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 22:36, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 26

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Intercultural Open University Foundation, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Amazon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello Mr RD. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Beautiful Women Wake Up Early, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: WP:CSD#A7 does not apply for films. Regarding the Hizkias Assefa tags

Hello, I just wanted to check in with you on the tags you posted on the article I posted on Hizkias Assefa. I just wanted to make clear that I am certainly not Hizkias, nor am I employed by him, and although I have met him once (full disclosure) I would not even consider him an acquaintance. So, to be clear, this is in no way sponsored by him - I just thought someone of his caliber should be on here. I welcome your feedback, and have not removed the tags as yet, as I want to chat about your concerns prior to taking action that could be perceived as unjustified.

Ronnyspock (talk) 13:37, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Dear Ronnyspock, I have removed the tags put up by me. Still I would request you to review the page and try to make the page more neutral avoiding WP:PEACOCK. Mr RD 14:06, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Deletion of Middle East Eye

Sorry but I missed the deletion nomination for this page which I created. How do I get the page back so I can edit and add importance. The Middle East Eye is a journalistic endeavor headed by the former editor of a major UK newspaper and its stories are now being cited in major media. Surely there are far less important subjects here? What do I need to do? Susan belt74 (talk) 19:14, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Dear Susan belt74, please refer Wikipedia:Deletion policy. For requesting deletion review over the page, please go through WP:BIODEL. Cheers, Mr RD 19:58, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Mr RD left you a message on Wikipedia

Regarding the The Talking Propellerheads page, the explanation is that the band was around for 20 years and documented in a humorous way the decline of the Minicomputer industry. I will go with whatever your decision is on inclusion or not. Thank you for your consideration and quick response. Thefink49 Thefink49 (talk) 14:20, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

Dear Thefink49, my doubt is only regarding the notability of the band. If you think you can prove the notability of the band, please go ahead and challenge the speedy deletion. For more information regarding notability of bands please see wp:band. Cheers Mr RD 15:22, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

Mike Aho Comments

Hi Mr RD, thank you for your comments on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Aho Have managed to add a fair number of citations though I will keep looking for more. With pre year 2000 content am finding it's not so easy to find ideal citations. When you have time, could you possible have another look at the page. Many thanks. Copyright checks when performing AfC reviews

Hello Mr RD. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).
