The article Snooker season 2010/2011 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Wikipedia is not a sports almanac.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Stifle (talk) 11:36, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Nobber GAA requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The article Meath Junior Football Championship 2010 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

An article describing the third level of the county GAA championships, I can understand?. But an article for the results of one individual season of this low level seems like serious overkill. Fails WP:N.

Fram (talk) 14:02, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

September 2012[edit]

Thanks for contributing the new article 2012–13 FAI Intermediate Cup. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. GiantSnowman 15:37, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2014 Leinster Senior Cup, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 2013 Leinster Senior Cup (association football). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 09:05, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Nobberclog10. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "2017 Wicklow Senior Football Championship".

If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Request reason:

Dear User:Dlohcierekim, Thanks for your reply, however I fail to comprehend why you say Wikipedia has no interest in keeping fans up to date. Whether you're a fan of sport, science, music, television or arts, Wikipedia is a means of keeping fans up to date and broadening their horizons. If my pages were deleted like this back in January as User:Boleyn has alluded to, why is it that other Wikipedia pages keeping sports fans up to date haven't been deleted? I have received many private messages of thanks from Irish people not only at home but also worldwide for my work on Wikipedia, and I dread to see this come to an end and let these thousands of people down who have been forced to emigrate from our shores due to unemployment etc. My work provides them with an opportunity to feel reconnected with their home and in a way make their time abroad more bearable perhaps. Many elderly people also look back on my articles regarding football in the 1950's and 60's for example and reminisce with fondness of bygone days where they partook in such popular games. In the last 6 months User:Boleyn has reviewed many articles I have created and hasn't contacted me on any faults in any of them. From this I can only assume that they are of satisfactory standard for publication on Wikipedia. In regards to User:Swarm's accusation of me refusing to or not being bothered to respond, the simple reason is that I did not understand your instructions about WP:AfC. Now before you lambaste me by calling me uneducated, I'd like to express how difficult I feel it is to comprehend instructions on Wikipedia and I highly doubt that every single person who's ever edited on Wikipedia would think otherwise!. One recommendation I would like to make is that Wikipedia should include tutorials for first time editors instead of just written instruction which is expressed in quite advanced English more often than not! Maybe a tutorial or induction on how to use a Userpage correctly should be considered? I hope we can work this out and make Wikipedia a more efficient and safer place to edit for the enjoyment of admins, editors and readers alike. Regards.

Decline reason:

We have such tutorials, but you're missing the point here. When someone told you that there's a problem with your edits and you didn't understand them, you should have asked for clarification instead of just continuing what you've been doing before. Wikipedia is a collaborative project and interacting with other editors is not optional here. Anyway, let's discuss how we can work towards getting you unblocked. I propose that:

  • You familiarize yourself with referencing on Wikipedia. Pretty sure that you've been already given enough relevant links, but if not or you don't understand something, feel free to get help with {{help me}}.
  • You make yourself a promise to always provide a source for what you're writing. It's not rocket science: you had to have information about what you're writing about, right? Then it shouldn't be too hard to add where you got that information with a couple clicks, RefToolbar or VisualEditor work wonders.
  • Once you're ready, you make another request explaining what you've learned and we unblock you.

How does that sound? Max Semenik (talk) 22:26, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • That sounds great Max Semenik I understand where you're coming from. I'll take time to look at the links you've provided. Thanks. Nobberclog10 (talk) 21:24, 30 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Having spent weeks looking over my previous publications I completely understand the reasons for which I have been blocked, although I’d like to express that any mistakes I’ve made were in good faith and no vandalism was intended whatsoever. Obviously it’s important to reference articles in order to make sure that information and content published is known to be a reliable resource for readers, however in relation to my own articles I’d like to ask for assistance with the following. Many of my previous Wikipedia publications provide information from a compilation local newspapers first published over 100 years ago in some cases. Because of this there are no direct hyperlinks to these newspaper articles. Is it acceptable for editors in Wikipedia to reference where information came from even though no direct hyperlink is available? Now there may be some areas of these previous publications that I can provide hyperlinks to which can validate my content but due to the vintage of these newspaper articles it may prove difficult! Another thing I’ve learned is that through the {{help me}} template I can contact other Wikipedia admins or editors should I have any queries or worries about any of my future publications, which is great as I won’t feel as isolated as before. In future should I be contacted by any I admins I realise that I should work with them in order to solve any issues and follow the Wikipedia community customs. As I’ve previously stated, I’m extremely passionate about what I can bring to the Wikipedia community and I feel that my publications provide a service to many GAA fans and the entire Irish diaspora worldwide. Regards, Nobberclog10 (talk)

Decline reason:

Why are you asking questions about newspapers published over 100 years ago? This information is clearly available in the policies and guidelines you should have already read. Therefore, I'm declining this unblock on WP:CIR grounds. Yamla (talk) 12:08, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear Yamla, I have previously read the WP:CIR article and also WP:CITEHOW in relation to newspapers, books, journal articles and webpages. If you require examples to be submitted I can comply with this. I understand that admins have a responsibility to ensure the competency of editors and ensure that content on Wikipedia is reliable. I was just seeking clarification as I feel that I'm much more prepared to contribute now to the Wikipedia community. Regards, Nobberclog10 (talk) 19:08, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficiently convincing for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. O Still Small Voice of Clam (formerly Optimist on the run) 14:04, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Swarm, I see I have been blocked for disruptive editing however I fail to see why. My edits mainly revolve around the ongoing Gaelic Football club championships in Ireland. This is the most popular sport in Ireland and now that i have been blocked, many football fans in Ireland will have no means of keeping up to date with the results of their favourite passtime. My edits may seem 'disruptive' as pages need to be constantly updated. I retreive all information for my pages from a number of trusted Gaelic football websites and local Irish media outlets. Many people will be left without a means of following Gaelic football in each county should this block continue. I urge you to revise your decision. Yours faithfully, Nobberclog10

Decline reason:

Wikipedia has no interest in keeping fans up to date. You might want to create a blog somewhere for that. As you have no comprehension of how you have disrupted Wikipedia, no understanding of WP:BRD, no idea of how to source content reliably, I've no recourse but to decline your request. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 21:45, 25 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Also, you were already blocked for refusing to communicate and spamming unreferenced articles after this report. You were told to source your creations and then submit them via AfC. I can see it right above. This was in January. You were threatened with this indefinite block back then. The user, Boleyn was practically begging you to work with us, and must have spent a substantial amount of his own time moving your articles to the Draft space to spare them from deletion. And yet, you couldn't be bothered to even respond. Now you're spamming a bunch of these articles back out of the draft space again, which not only ignores the instructions you've previously been given to use WP:AfC, but you've been copy and pasting them, which has resulted in another significant drain on our time cleaning up after you. Repairing the copy-paste moves you performed was a pretty massive project that took multiple admins to clean up. If you fail to see how any of this is disruptive editing and has resulted in an indefinite block, which you were already threatened with back in January, then you don't have the competence to edit here, which tells me that I was not wrong to link WP:CIR in your block log.
