Redundant information[edit]
So, why are all the Android articles going around not describing what the phone does? ViperSnake151 Talk 00:05, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
- I don't know why they don't. I'm just aware that in order for an article on a phone to meet FA status, the article needs to describe what the phone does. In fact, I would suggest that Android articles begin including that information. Zach Vega (talk to me) 00:07, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Infernaeon Article[edit]
Please explain to me why my article was rejected.
Did you even read the article and follow the references? Your rejection reply says nothing and gives no details on the exact problem.
Did you even look to see this subject is referenced NUMEROUS times on Wikipedia already?
Does Wikipedia not care about relevant information to back up articles that ALREADY EXIST on the site?
This is why people don't take Wikipedia seriously. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MetalMalice (talk • contribs) 23:23, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
- Your article still gives no indication as to why it's notable. Zach Vega (talk to me) 22:06, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
Let's look at the criteria you are ignoring:
>>"Significant coverage" addresses the topic directly and >>in detail, so that no original research is needed to >>extract the content. Significant coverage is more than >>a passing mention but it need not be the main topic of the source material.[1]
Google the term "Infernaeon" and look at the search results from numerous web sites.
>>"Reliable" means sources need editorial integrity to >>allow verifiable evaluation of notability, per the >>reliable source guideline. Sources may encompass >>published works in all forms and media, and in any >>language. Availability of secondary sources covering the >>subject is a good test for notability.
Numerous metal news sites and outlets have covered this band. Do your homework.
>>"Sources"[2] should be secondary sources, as those >>provide the most objective evidence of notability. >>There is no fixed number of sources required since >>sources vary in quality and depth of coverage, but >>multiple sources are generally expected.[3] Sources >>do not have to be available online and do not have to >>be in English. Multiple publications from the same >>author or organization are usually regarded as a >>single source for the purposes of establishing notability.
This was provided to you. I have yet to see evidence that you did not receive this information.
>>"Independent of the subject" excludes works produced >>by the article's subject or someone affiliated with it. >>For example, advertising, press releases, autobiographies, >>and the subject's website are not considered independent.
The only reference that doesn't meet this is the band's web site. Every other reference is from a reputable news source.
Bands base their entire experience on marketing with their fans. There's no way not to use press release links to indicate notability for a band's years of history. Despite that, other references were provided that do not rely on press releases.
>>"Presumed" means that significant coverage in reliable sources >>creates an assumption, not a guarantee, that a subject >>should be included. A more in-depth discussion might conclude >>that the topic actually should not have stand-alone article—perhaps >>because it violates what Wikipedia is not, particularly the >>rule that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information.[5]
Again, this topic is linked NUMEROUS TIMES already on Wikipedia. Don't you think you should have some sort of historical reference for a topic you already have available in the public?
Is there anyone else here who can approve this article besides "Zach"? (a 15 year old kid I might add) — Preceding unsigned comment added by MetalMalice (talk • contribs) 09:02, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker)MetalMalice: First off, "15 year old kids" frequently have more time to devote to projects like Wikipedia than adults do and consequently they may be better experts than adults. That said, if you want help with your submission, there is a link to the Help Desk in the beige box on your submission, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Infernaeon. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 16:44, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
davidwr: First off, 15 year old kids shouldn't EVER be in a position of authority. Period. Secondly, it seems the whole notion of something having "notability" is based purely on opinion alone. That being said, and given the lack of clarity in explaining exactly why the subject is _not_ notable, leads me to believe such an individual's lack of judgement could only be due to his age. Was any research done on the subject to come to that conclusion? Did any of you actually follow the reference links? Do you realize this band has been releasing albums for years now with guest producers and appearances from numerous BIG name musicians that ARE ALREADY in articles on Wikipedia? Obviously none of this legwork was done by Zach (or you for that matter.) Again, this is why no one takes Wikipedia as a serious source for information. It's because you have a bunch of kids running it. Unreal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MetalMalice (talk • contribs) 19:09, 25 October 2013 (UTC)
- FWIW, I have known a number of people 15 years old or even younger participating actively in WP and doing very creditable work. I've known one personally in NYC as young as 12. obviously, there will be some limitations in terms of width of background and depth of education, but the degree of judgment and common sense can be as high as those many times that age. I personally wouldn't have done as well at their age as some of them, but that's a reflection on me, not on them. DGG ( talk ) 09:55, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
AfC - Marine Aquarium Council[edit]
Please forgive me if I'm doing this wrong. This is the first article I've tried to create and I do find it very daunting, dealing with Wikipedia's own jargon to be the least.
This is a link to the article I've tried to create, I believe you've reviewed it this evening:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Marine_Aquarium_Council
When you say it is worded like an advertisement, is it a problem with the text or with the references? or was it a computer script that made the assessment? I can't tell.
I was unable to find a page that dealt with how to spot or correct articles that sound like advertisements. Maybe there is one?
I really have no vested interest in this organization. I live in Toronto, Canada and have no dealings with fish importers or fishermen; I just want to help the next guy who searches the encyclopedia to find the information that I was unable to find on the site.
Thanks. I worked for a good couple hours on that article and now I feel pretty bummed.
Take for example, this article here, existing in the encyclopedia for a while already of a very well-known organization:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_and_Stroke_Foundation_of_Canada
This article presents a quantity of facts and data, only one minor one of which is substantiated by an outside source (reference). Also it makes one claim as being the leader a particular field. this also is unsubstantiated. I have noted it on the article, which you may see now. I have made no changes to the article itself.
Please also bear with me, as I did initially have difficulty in having this article turned down by someone less than half my age ;) I say this not to offend, but to state a fact.
I appreciate your time

Thanks for your feedback on my article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Jim_Leverton but I am puzzled why this has been declined. Many thanks

- The majority of sources can't be from the label, a discography, or a review to establish notability. Zach Vega (talk to me) 16:47, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
- Zach, reviews can be exactly the sort of sources which we do want to establish notability, provided they provide substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online. As for specific good reviewing sources in this field, I'm no judge, but the principle holds in all creative fields. DGG ( talk ) 10:01, 8 December 2013 (UTC)

Still an 5th generation iPad.[edit]
For the sake of Wiki readers to know the generation, Wiki should go by generation and not the names Apple pulls out of the air (yes, I know). The 5th gen is still the same screen size (9.7") and resolution as the 4th and 3ed gen, just a smaller case and faster motherboard. =Flightsoffancy (talk) 22:00, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

Zach, this AfC looks sort of OK to me. The text is a copy-and-paste from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration web-page, but this kind of US government work is (from memory) somehow in the Public Domain, so as long as there is the required attribution it would be OK for Wikipedia. Why 2 is appearing in the external links section?[edit]
In the article 2012-13 Omani League why 2 is appearing in the external link section inspite of providing the complete url?
How can we change the name of the articles?[edit]
Please help me. How can we change the name of the articles?
Gee Langdon[edit]
Hello,
You mention that reviews of the above's books would be sufficient evidence of notability for acceptance. I have many newspaper cuttings of book reviews but, as they were from the pre-internet days, they are not available as online links.
What am I to do?
Best wishes,
John Dixon

Changing the title of the article.[edit]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Shabab_(Oman) Al-Shabab is actually a club and not just Al-Shabab and that title would me more appropriate but Wikipedia doesn't allow me to change the name saying that it was already moved before to this title.
Hello Zach Vega:

We need your help testing latest huggle[edit]
Hello,
I am sending you this message because you listed yourself on meta:Huggle/Members as a beta tester. We desperately need attention of testers, because since we resolved all release blockers, we are ready to release first official version of huggle 3! Before that happens, it would be nice if you could test it so that we can make sure there are no issues with it. You can download it packaged for your operating system (see Wikipedia:Huggle/Huggle3_Beta) or you can of course build it yourself, see https://github.com/huggle/huggle3-qt-lx for that. Don't forget to use always latest version, there is no auto-update message for beta versions!
Should you find any issue, please report it to wikimedia bugzilla, that is a central place for huggle bugs, where we look at them. That is i mportant, if you find a bug and won't report it, we can't fix it. Thank you for your work on this, if you have any questions, please send me a message on my talk page, I won't be looking for responses here. Thanks, Petrb (talk) 15:20, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
Question about a comment you left for me - Page: CitiusTech[edit]
Hi Zach,
I hope you're having a good day. I had a quick question for you - You had edited a CitiusTech page for me back in October that was denied, saying: Provide a description of the offerings - with reliable sources, of course. Zach Vega (talk to me) 13:30, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
I was wondering if you could provide me with a little more information of what you're looking for. This is my first Wikipedia page, so I'm still trying to figure it out. Would you like descriptions of CitiusTech's offerings linking back to their website where they describe their offerings, or does it need to be a third-party source?
Thank you! Anna Aboyd519 (talk) 21:25, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

[edit]
Hi Zack, not sure exactly why you rejected the entry I did for the film 'Against Naature' directed by John Story and Antony Zaki and starring Adrian Dunbar http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0932918/
I did notice the film is listed on adrian Dunbar's wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrian_Dunbar#Select_Filmography
Would that be sufficient to qualify the article for publication. Also it might make sense to re name the page "Against Nature (2005 Film)" or something like that to distinguish it from the other 'Against Nature' entries.
I'm a not very experienced at wikipedia so appreciate your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bookchitchat (talk • contribs) 03:58, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of countries by GDP (nominal) may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
