Garhi Habibullah is a town and union council (an administrative subdivision) of Mansehra District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.[1] It is located in Balakot Tehsil and lies to the east of district capital Mansehra, towards the Kashmir frontier (near to Muzaffarabad the capital of Azad Kashmir).It was the headquarter of Azad Khan Afghan's rebellion against Taimur Shah Durrani.[2] It was affected by the 2005 Kashmir earthquake.[3] Under Afghanistan Rule, Sa'adat Khan Swati the Chief of Swati tribe and the ruler of Pakhli founded this village on the banks of Kunhar river.The village was then known as "Garhi Sa'adat Khan" but now called "Garhi Habibullah Khan" after his son. It is part of Upper Pakhli which is named after 1st Chief of Swati and 1st Sultan of Swat Sultanate; Sultan Pakhal Swati who was also the forefather of Gabri families i.e Jehangiri family, Arghushal family, Sarkheli family and Aznali family living in Garhi Habibullah.

2.Khan Habibullah Khankhail Swati I (1781-1831) Shaheed:- He was the second ruler of Pakhli (1781-1831) and Chief Swati tribe. The Village derived its current name from him.He was also a well known freedom fighter who fought many battles against Sikh Empire along Syed Ahmad Barelvi

He was the grandson of Ghulam Muhammad Khan Jehangiri ( Who belonged to Khan family of Sandy Sar, later migrated and owned the big part of lands in Garhi too ).
5. Khan Bara Khan Sarkheli Swati:- He was the Ex- General Councilor of Garhi Habibullah. He belonged to 1st biggest landlord hundi(طرف) Behram Khan Sarkheli of Garhi Habibullah city.
6.Dr Wajid Khan Sarkheli Swati:- He emerged as the young leader by taking the big vote in his first election on the seat of MPA Tehsil Balakot in 2017. He is currently the General Councilor of UC Garhi Habibullah. He got 1014 votes in the last local elections of UC despite of 3 contestants against him from his family while the first position holder got 1300s votes. His other 3 family members broke 1400 vote of him as he was expected to cross 2400 which was the un-achieveable target to any other contestant.
7.Fahad Yalmaz Khankhail Swati:- He is also known as "Sunny Lala" in Garhi Habibullah.He is current Chairman (NHC) Neighborhood Council Garhi Habibullah.He got elected by majority votes.He also served as Chairman of DRC Garhi Habibullah
8.Jahangir Naseem Khankhail Swati :- He is well known politician of Garhi Habibullah.His whole family served for the welfare of Garhi Habibullah's people.He is Ex District Nazim Mansehra.
9. Haji Ijaz Khan Arghushal Swati :- He is well known Jirga Lawyer, politician, Patron in Chief of Garhi Business Community (انجمن تاجران) and head of Arghushal Swatis of Garhi. He is the son of former famous Jirga lawyer Khan Khudadad Khan and great grandson of Khan Hassan Ali Khan who was the owner of 3rd biggest land Hundi(طرف) Hassan Ali Khan of Garhi Habibullah city.

According to 1872 division of Hazara District, Garhi Habibullah was divided among 5 families into 5 Hundis/Jageers[4][5].These 5 families own nearly all villages of Garhi Habibullah and its side areas.These families also have combined land(شاملات) of Batrasi Forest, Babar Colony and Garhi Bazar which is still undivided. The Batrasi Forest was taken by British Indian Empire in 1911 for 100 years from these 5 families. As the pact is completed, it will be soon return back after some legal process.
