Could you tell me how exactly this discussion can help the article? This article isn't about if the e-mail is fake or not, so I can't see the use. Info like that isn't encyclopedic. TheBlazikenMaster 16:21, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The email address is mentioned in the episode in for that article, so Another Slappywag's query about that email address could have been relevant to information that could be included in the article. Perhaps the email address were answered by Fuzzy Door or something.
The query wouldn't have made a great helpdesk question either. I don't want the {{evilmonkey}} tag to devolve into a codephrase for "Shut up!", especially this early in the project.
That said, thanks for utilizing {{evilmonkey}}. I do want this to catch on. This just wasn't the best way to show it off. / edg 21:26, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The unregistered user thinks I'm being silly. And I don't really know how to explain. I was wondering if you could get to that Talk Page and explain to the IP why this can't be added. TheBlazikenMaster 22:04, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I left him a bit of explanation here. / edg 22:15, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfD nomination of I am you

I have nominated I am you (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) for discussion. Redirects from phrases

You asked an interesting question at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2008 January 7#I am you → Rush Hour 3. There are only 39 entries in that category. I'm really not sure why the template was created in the first place. My guess is that someone was bold, the idea never caught on and no one remembered to clean up the experiment.

What would you think of posing this as a centralized discussion and putting the template, category and redirects up for a consolidated discussion? It would be nice to get a consistent answer. Rossami (talk) 01:14, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User Page Vandalism

Don't mention it. I just happen to chance upon it. IP vandal-watching is the first thing I always do when I access my watchlist. I hope you're doing well "in real life". -- Altiris Helios Exeunt 05:31, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Peter born in Mexico

Responding to this reversion in Talk:Peter Griffin#Peter born in Mexico. If you agree, I would rather not undo your reversion myself. While there may be a point in mentioning Peter's birth in Mexico, I would probably choose not to watch the Peter Griffin article if every other editor watching this article insists on developing the article along the lines of a fictional biography that starts with Peter's birth in Mexico, since such an article has no hope of ever becoming encyclopedic (to Wikipedia) or interesting (to me). / edg 16:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've been working on this article for a few days, I've added a reception section, removed some trivia, added some external links and references and I'm going to rewrite the plot now. I'll try to watch the DVD commentary tomorrow, as I don't feel up to it now. Qst 20:38, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and if you have any other suggestions for articles to me to work on, fire away. Season 5 (six, according to the DVD) is my preferred season as they get more reception, but I'm open to most articles... Qst 20:40, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know what you're saying, and that was my concern at the beginning. However, this is the third time I've been queried about adminship. I see. What sorts of hacks?. There are so different type of hacks you know. Well you know erik talk page is on my watchlist so when i was refreshing my watch list i saw your nick after that i saw adminship and i asked about youtube.

Also thanks for the compliments in 2008 in films. Iam glad my help made you happy. I totally agree with you regarding "I also hate redlinks on pages that are supposed to have confirmed stuff. (I don't have anything against redlinked actor, but redlinked movie is what I'm truly against.)". Come let us work together and do so many things. Doomsday

Think of it this way -- if someone types in Doomsday, they will get to the disambiguation page. At that page, both Doomsday (film) and Superman: Doomsday are listed. What terms could a user type that would accidentally lead him or her to one but not the other? —Erik (talkcontrib) - 17:44, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You mean actually typing Doomsday (film) itself? I'm not sure if that's likely. I keep quick wiki-links on my user page to access film articles with ease, rather than typing it out. Also, according to WP:DAB#Partial title matches, I don't think the dab link is appropriate since the whole title is Superman: Doomsday. I know what you're trying to say, but I think if a user is experienced enough to actually include (film) in typing it, then I think the user should be able to surmise how to get to the disambiguation page. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 15:58, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It can be tricky to work on articles about upcoming films, especially when a filmmaker or a cast member reveals too much in an interview. However, I usually glaze my eyes over the Plot section if I haven't seen the film yet. For example, I hadn't seen Sunshine until last night, and I had expanded the article considerably over the past summer. I think that in a lot of ways, it's more enjoyable to watch a film when I'm aware of its background even if I am spoiled in some ways. I imagine that The Dark Knight will be a good watch since we have a lot of interesting information about how the film has been put together. Another issue is that because I'm at the forefront of future film news, I know when a film starts production before anyone else does, so the wait for it to actually come out can be a long time. I guess that's why I work on other film articles in the meantime. Another reason why I work on future film articles is to encourage a new mindset about how to write film articles -- keeping the plot short, having lots of production information, and avoiding trivia sections. I try to do this for the major films so that when major films come out in the future, editors will know what's appropriate to include. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 18:28, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have you gotten rollback yet?

No disclaimers in articles

{{helpme}} Does this rule also apply to user pages? I added a disclaimer here. I don't know just curios.

Oh and the section is 100% relevant to Wikipedia as those are YouTube videos that are messages TO Wikipedia. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 20:05, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HI there! WP:NDT only applies to main space articles. As for your user page, per Wikipedia:User page you can have (almost) anything reasonable on your user page. By my best guess, you're alright with that disclaimer. Hope this helped! If you need anything else, drop a message here or on my talk page. Happy Editing! --omtay38 20:13, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Section looks good! Unfortunately, I can't make out what you're saying. There are some people I can understand pretty easily, and some that I don't. You should try to find a more exciting background for your videos, though, with some additional lighting. It'd make the videos look a bit more cheery. :) —Erik (talkcontrib) - 20:30, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{HelpMe|I really disagree with protected title, can someone tell me this: Where is the best place to discuss whether or not it should be redirected or protected from recreation? TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 23:27, 22 January 2008 (UTC)}}[reply]

Per the notice on the page, you should bring up the matter at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Best regards. --omtay38 23:31, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The logs for that page are located here, which you may find useful when going to DRV. It appears the page was salted due to multiple creations of vandalism-only pages. Since this is the case, you may want to consider going to Wikipedia:Requests for page protection#Current requests for unprotection instead, but I believe you are likely to be turned down there unless you are willing to write an article under that title that meets standards. It may help to have one drafted in your userspace already. Hersfold (t/a/c) 23:36, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'm thinking about getting it back to the redirect it used to be, except this time protected. I'm going to deletion review soon. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 23:56, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You beat me to undoing all them additions of the episode navigation box. Frankly, its not even funny now - I have a feeling its User:Immblueversion using an IP, but I'm in no position to accuse him, so I'll ask politely. Thanks again. Qst 17:56, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: Stop adding navigation boxes to Family Guy episodes.

I was only adding the ones that were not there in the first place. What's the problem? And what the hell is "against cons". 58.160.139.19 (talk) 09:56, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, why only remove mine? what about all the other episodes that have navigation boxes? I could put them back in just to tee you off, but I've got better things to do. Sometimes I really hate you high-and-mightly Wikipedia mods. If you didn't want assistance to give all the Family Guy episode pages a standard, uniform look, then protect them. 58.160.139.19 (talk) 10:19, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: YouTube

To be honest, I'm not very accustomed to YouTube. It's a nice place to host videos, but I don't frequent the website all that often. I only go to it when a URL on another website pops up that goes to YouTube. I'd rather have discussion on our user talk pages here; it's not truly frowned upon unless that's all one uses his or her user talk page for. I see it as a way of establishing camaraderie. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 16:20, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As a film to see? Absolutely! It's one of the most oft-quoted films out there. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 16:05, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! Netflix is a subscription plan in which you can have three movies at home at any given time. When you finish watching a movie, you can send it back in Netflix envelopes (they cover postage), and Netflix sends you the next movie on your queue. The queue looks like this -- I can sort films that I want to see, and when Netflix receives a movie back from me, they'll send whatever is available at the top of the list. There's a monthly fee, but considering how often I watch movies, each movie is really cheaper than renting straight from the video store. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 16:46, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not Homer Simpson, actually.

That was in an episode of Family Guy, as a matter of fact. It was that one where those burglars kidnap Meg; perhaps you've seen it. It is true, though, the user was mistaken when they said it connects to Peter's middle name being of German origin; Hitler was Austrian, after all. Re: 2007

OK, lemme think...

I haven't had a chance to see some films, though, because I may have missed them in theaters and am still waiting on the DVD. I haven't seen most of the films there were nominated for the Oscars tonight. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 06:03, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and The Lookout! Very overlooked film. As for the worst movie, not sure, as I usually avoid movies that look bad. I would have to say that Spider-Man 3 was pretty bad, honestly... maybe I had a lot of hope for it because of how awesome Spider-Man 2 was, but SM3 had a lot of things wrong with it. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 06:07, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I watched the show, too. Kind of wish they sped it up a little more. I purposely skipped Rush Hour 3 and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry because I didn't get the impression that I would like these at all. I enjoyed Transformers to a point, but I don't consider it a favorite at all. I thought that At World's End had a little too much going on with not much of a payoff. Saw IV, eh... I'm kind of tired of torture porn like that. That's why I liked The Orphanage a lot -- definitely a great horror film. I saw The Kingdom, but I wasn't crazy about the subtle anti-Middle East jabs. Shoot 'Em Up was very, very amusing to watch, as I did not expect such a caricature of the hero and anti-hero films. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 06:25, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the Academy is actually composed of over 6,000 motion picture professionals (such as O'Connell himself), rather than critics, but do you really think that the best film/actor/technician always (or even usually) wins? Steve TC 14:51, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Revert on Naval War

I didn't then, and don't now, think that the edit by the IP was a serious edit. Most people are aware that France and Great Britain are no longer engaged in a naval war with each other -- if the IP was serious he/she should have included a date when this ended. As it stood, it added absolutely nothing to the article. Tom (North Shoreman) (talk) 00:27, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I heard you wanted a mudkip deleted

I noticed you flagged Image:Mudkip4.JPG for speedy deletion. Since the image is hosted on Wikimedia Commons, flagging it here doesn't get it deleted from the Commons. I went to Commons:Image:Mudkip4.JPG and added the {{copyvio}} tag there. You might want to check out Commons:Commons:Deletion guidelines to find out how to nominate an image for deletion there. I actually had to look that up myself, since policies and practices on the Commons differ from here. Is a complete moron. How must of a loser to do you have to be, when you're a middle-aged man asking a bunch of kids to find "information" on someone so that you can do what exactly? Murphy needs to grow up and start acting like a real man, before someone actually mistakens him for one. I'd be rather interested to know what they "find" on me, so I'll monitor the forum just to see.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 00:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was laughing when I read it.
