Hospitalized for Wikistress!!!!!
I am suffering from wikiburnout and chronic Wikistress.

And real life is very much in the way these days.
I probably won't be able to log in as frequently and contribute as much as I would like. Messages left here probably won't get a quick response as before. Your patience would be very much appreciated.

Take care, everyone.
Happy editing.

Mainz bible

Regarding the Thirty Years' War, the terms "prize of war" and "war booty" are completely redundant. Bellum se ipsum alet. Regards Skäpperöd (talk) 09:00, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, Skäpperöd, I figured, but I don't know enough to tell if the two wikiarticles should be merged. Anyway, I prefer using the same vocabulary as in the ref/source. Thanks for the note. --PFHLai (talk) 16:16, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

inline citations

hi,

thanks for working on the Nephila komaci article. would you consider changing the style concerning big inline citations? it makes the text very hard to edit without special tools, cluttering enormously. even i get the creeps when encountering an article with many citations like this, imagine somebody not very versed in wiki markup, he'll be completely lost. i myself, and several other editors i talked to, have from time to time even refrained from editing an article because of inline blocks like these. as a compromise, there is now the practise to add the citation like <ref name="kuntner">Kuntner 2009</ref> inline, list all these under a Notes section, and then list the full references under a References section. This is really useful for taxonomic articles, to keep the text clean and editable, while at the same time being able to sort the citations cleanly at the end (by date, or alphabet, instead of first occurrence). thanks! --Sarefo (talk) 21:57, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sarefo. You're welcome. Thank you for your work on the Nephila komaci article.

Moving articles and their editing histories

Thankyou for moving St Mary's church, North Leigh to St Mary's Church, North Leigh while preserving its editing history. I'm sorry to trouble you when you already do so much, but how can I do that? I need to move Clapton Crabbe Rolfe to Clapton Crabb Rolfe. The historian Sir Nikolaus Pevsner seems to have mistakenly added the "e" to Rolfe's middle name, and when I created Rolfe's article I copied Pevsner before realising that every other authority, including C.C. Rolfe's father, spells "Crabb" without a final "e". Motacilla (talk) 15:34, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome, Motacilla. It's quite easy to move articles around the wiki and give them new titles. Please see Help:Moving a page. Hope this helps. Cheers! --PFHLai (talk) 11:35, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou for moving Clapton Crabb Rolfe to his rightful place. I've amended all spellings of his middle name to "Crabb", both in his article and in articles that link to it. Motacilla (talk) 22:14, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Don't mention it, Motacilla. Glad that I could help. Happy editing. Cheers! --PFHLai (talk) 16:45, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to comment

Hi PFHLai. I am Cargoking and you probably have seen me around ITN. I have identified you as an ITN regular, so I thought I would inform you of a discussion opened on 5 December 2009.

MSGJ suggested on Arsonal's (who's fairly new to ITN) talk page, that ITN suggestions made on the candidate's page would be put on separate pages, such as Wikipedia:In the news/Candidates/2009-12-05. The past seven days of discussion would be automatically transcluded. "This would avoid the need for archiving and it would also leave the history of the page intact. It might also make it easier to create new days because we can use preload templates, etc." The only disadvantage to this proposal would be that each new comment would not show up on people's watchlists.

You are invited to take part in discussion here.
Thanks,  Cargoking  talk  17:47, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Cargoking. I've posted my comments there. --PFHLai (talk) 07:17, 6 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

...once again! I just noticed this on a quick incoming links check. Appreciate that! Let me know if the article needs any further polish or clarification. I just went out to the location yesterday to get a photograph from the same spot as that c.1900 photo for a before-and-after effect, and put that in. Cheers! Antandrus (talk) 21:24, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome, Antandrus. Thank you for the nice article. It should be on DYK soon.
Nice work on the photo. I'm impressed that you actually went there to take the photo from the same site. I've placed your photo in the Summerland, California article, too.
Happy editing! Cheers! --PFHLai (talk) 01:50, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

T:TDYK --> Twilight Zone

Thank you also for the many nominations. But no deleting my posts, please. ;-) (Though I assume this happened because the server got crazy in some way, but oddly enough the intervening edit did not get reverted.) Ucucha 18:38, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OMG! Sorry, Man! I have no clue what happened there! I had no intention of deleting anyone's posts. I wasn't aware of your post being there, nor was I aware of your post disappearing. Why that happened the moment I posted my nom is really beyond me. I wish I could say "I didn't do it", but... that's what the Wikiservers have attributed to my editing. Yes, the wikiserver must have gone crazy in some way.... --PFHLai (talk) 10:22, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It was not even the only one. No problem, of course - it's not your fault. We might want to think sometime about doing something that would prevent this, but in the meantime we'll just have to stay focused and revert when something gets lost. Ucucha 13:36, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This is very strange. I'm glad that you caught it, Ucucha. Thank you, again, for undoing the damages I somehow inflicted on T:TDYK. I wonder if it would help if the noms are posted on daily subpages transcluded on T:TDYK. At least moving "==Older nominations==" up at midnight UTC would be easier, I suppose. --PFHLai (talk) 18:00, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's something I also thought of. It might be worth considering. Ucucha 18:02, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your interest in this topic but the nomination that I made on December 12 is already in queue four, so I removed your re-nomination. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:12, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Thanks for letting me know. --PFHLai (talk) 12:19, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And what on earth are you doing claiming credit for artciles in which you have had little or no involvement like Solanum erianthum, Merrilactone A, or Bussell Island. You haven't created or substantially expanded any of these. Claiming credit for them is shoddy and unworthy. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:15, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
