Hi! I noticed your deletion of Xanthochroi. I 'voted' in the discussion just above that one and I noticed this when looking for the outcome of that. I think redirecting to Historical_race_concepts#Thomas_Huxley's_racial_definitions would be a good use for Xanthochroi. Searching for Xanthochroi points to several pages but it is not clear that that one is the one explaining the concept, so the redirect would be helpful for readers, I presume. Hi Explicit! I noticed you deleted the article on Arthrex back in April 2021. When I tried to see what the page looked like, all I could find was just a one-liner about it being a medical device company (so understandable that it got deleted, if that's the case), but I'm just seeking some clarity on the deletion. So my questions are: One, is my observation on its content accurate? Two, was the limited information and content the reason for your deletion (if not, would you mind sharing the basis for deletion)? And three, do you feel the subject has notability or other issues that would make it inappropriate for its own Wikipedia article (because I am thinking about researching, writing and (re-)publishing an article on Arthrex, but obviously don't want to waste my time if it seems like the community is against it having its own page). G13 issue

Hello, Explicit,

Because you work a lot with G13s and with SDZeroBot's lists, I just wanted to alert you that the current list, User:SDZeroBot/G13 eligible, is not accurate. These drafts are actually not eligible until early September which you would notice when you looked at the page history of the drafts. I don't know if you've noticed but SDZeroBot, which just started operating in September 2020, has a hard understanding that months have a different number of days. So, since February had 28 days, it thinks that August 30th is September 2nd. I've left a note about this with the bot operator, SD0001, but I've told him before about this glitch back in February when the bot skipped three days of reports and it still isn't fixed.

Hello, dear administrator, I hope everything is all right with you. The reason I'm writing to you is because I need help on Basil I Wikipedia page. Future edits on this page will lead to a war of edits. I will try to explain the situation. The question is about the origin of Basil, which most likely indicates that he was an Armenian, then a Greek, the number of historians who clearly indicate his Armenian origin is much greater than those who say that he was a Greek or a Slavic. I don't want to blame anyone, but I feel that the problem with other editors may be related to the Armenian nationality, otherwise I don't see any other reason why sources provided by me can be removed.

I will indicate those parts of the article that, in my opinion, are written in a manipulative way

1. First, the part where I mentioned that he spoke Armenian fluently, and he had a strong accent in Greek, was removed, moreover, this was mentioned many years ago in the same discussion section on the page. I think that language and accent can indicate and help to understand the origin.
2. “The name of his mother points to a Greek origin on the maternal side”,  I do not agree with this, because historical articles should be based on historian works, and not on instructions and hints provided by users. Since I think this sentence is inappropriate and is manipulative.
3. The general scholarly consensus is that Basil's father was "probably" of Armenian origin I do not agree with this sentence, as there is manipulation and absolute nonsense in it. First, how can we say "scientific consensus" if I have provided more sources in which his Armenian origin is confirmed without any doubt, and secondly, since it is written after his mother's name, it will affect the reader.
4. Norman Tobias / “Tobias, the author of the only dedicated biography of Basil I in English”. part of the origin  is based on the work of Norman Tobias, in which he cannot draw a conclusion about his origin. While other historians pointing to his Armenian origin, are removed and not even considered. moreover, it contains details about Tobias ' experience, for example, he is from the University of Toronto and he is the only one who wrote a biography of Basil in English. I don't think this is correct about the exclusivity of the English language, because I don't think that historians who write or speak different languages are worse or better than Tobias, and if we talk about universities, one of the sources that I provided is connected with Oxford, and the other with the University of Chicago.
5. the user who canceled my edits personally attacked me, saying that " You seem to be just a nationalist troll, arguments are being wasted on you." which leads me to the conclusion that his actions are related to nationality, and not to facts and sources, moreover. She/he is undoubtedly sure that Basil was a Greek, since during our conversation and in the article it was mentioned several times that Basi’l fathers could be partially Armenian, while this is manipulationt, because of the hint that she/he dropped in the article where she/he mentioned his mother's name, and is trying to manipulate by saying that his father could be partially Armenian."
6. Dear administrator, I believe that history should be based on facts and sources, I believe that Wikipedia readers deserve to receive objective information, I believe that hints should not be part of an article, I believe that historians should write history, I believe that manipulations should not be part of Wikipedia, I believe that articles should not be based on only one historian, I believe in common sense, and if we have more facts and sources about something, Wikipedia editors should not contradict them, because then they "want”, That's why I'm asking you to step in and stop future editing wars.Tatul (talk) 09:30, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

Undelete page for The Hired Heart movie

I wouldn't consider it "not notable" as this movie is playing on Amazon prime. I can't read the original page because it's deleted but it's an average movie of the typical rom-com type with at least one actor with a wiki page. I see no reason why the page should be deleted just because a couple of people couldn't find information on it. Other viewers may want to look it up as I did.

Thank you for your response - I just added the date [1] (February 14, 1970) of the contempt conviction (which was followed by the jail haircut), which was 3 days after the photo was taken - I agree the content about the poster is not helpful, but the now-clarified depiction of what he looked like before the haircuts reported by The New York Times is maybe now more notable if the date is clearly included with the image? I was also thinking the ABC15 article that finds his comparisons, including the haircut, to modern events notable ("Member of 'Chicago 7' compares Phoenix protest arrests to 1968 incident") adds some support because the image adds visual context about his appearance that text alone cannot. It is his commentary, but it is published by an independent and reliable source. Also, in the Popular culture section, Nathan J. Robinson of Current Affairs notes Weiner's appearance as different than how it is depicted in the most recent Chicago 7 film, which also seems to be something that text alone is unable to convey, and a form of commentary about Weiner's actual appearance during the trial as compared to the film. Overall, the notability of his appearance seems related to the circumstances in which his hair was politicized back then, and how it was not accurately portrayed in the recent film. I am enthusiastic about adding images to enhance encyclopedia articles, but I also recognize there is a greater need for care and caution with non-free images than I initially understood. If this explanation and the edit help justify the non-free use of this image, I think it would be a great addition, but I also understand if there is still insufficient support for its use. @Beccaynr: The issue here lies in the lack of direct commentary—the references seem to focus on the haircut only, without providing any context of what the hairstyle was beforehand. The contextual significance criterion states that the item must either be "itself the subject of sourced commentary in the article or it must aid the reader to identify an object, style, or behavior, that is a subject of discussion in the article to merit inclusion. If there was a reference that stated, for example, "Weiner's unkempt hair and long beard were symbols of [whatever]", that would work pretty well. While I found references to hair during the era generally, e.g. "A Longhair Was a Longhair" (Frank Kusch) and in one of the appellate court opinions (Ragsdale at 64), I added a more specific commentary attributed to Abbie Hoffman about the significance of their hair, right before it was cut in jail, as recalled by Weiner in his memoir, i.e. "our hair was a symbol of our freedom and of everything we believed". @Shantimar: Hi, it seems that the non-free image you uploaded was removed from Rosita Sokou because the article already has a freely licensed image. The inclusion of File:Na i efkairia web.jpg would violate the non-free content criteria policy, particular no free equivalent criterion. Unilateral restoration of other user's pages deleted under U1 speedy criterion

For what it's worth, I do not feel that this action was justified. I don't know how much of that you've been doing. If a user wants a page that they created in their user space gone per U1, then it should stay gone. I've been cleaning up thousands of broken userbox transclusions and don't mind doing so, but to force a user to keep something that they did in their user space beyond the time frame in which they feel passionate about it strikes me as wrong. For example, their position on an issue may have changed, and they no longer want to be associated with that opinion. I have seen several instances where users voiced controversial or spiteful opinions (esp. in userboxes), and later voluntarily requested it be deleted with U1.

If being transcluded was a legitimate reason not to U1 something, then policy would say that. All it does say is, "In some rare cases there may be administrative need to retain the page," but this is the first I'm seeing transclusions being claimed as such a "rare" rational (assuming that was your interpretation). I have seen (and cleaned up) hundreds of other such cases where that has not posed an impediment. – voidxor 22:05, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

@Voidxor: Hi, that restoration was based on my understanding that transcluded pages are not eligible for speedy deletion. Although not formally encoded in policy, there was a discussion that took place some time ago regarding the matter at Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion/Archive 49#Templates. The consensus was that G7—and by extension, U1—does not apply to transcluded content. I believe this is still the current practice, though I can stand to be corrected. If there is perhaps another userbox with the same message, I would not mind replacing instances of this user subpage and re-deleting it. That is the only userbox I remember restoring—I don't recall how I came across it, though. ✗plicit 00:18, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
