Lana's appearance and style have changed since her performance at the Grammy Museum in 2019, and I think a new picture would more accurately represent her. Something from her appearance at Billboard Women in Music 2023 would work great, as they're mostly licensed red carpet photos in which she is staring straight forward. == Voice and timbre section outdated ==

"When recording in the studio, Del Rey is known for vocal multi-layering, which, as it has been noted, is difficult for her to replicate within a live setting, especially with the lack of backing singers to fill out the original vocal style." seems to be at odds with the reality of playback and the more recent (ie, past 2012) reviews of Lana's shows, ignoring also that Lana has employed backup singers in her most recent live (televised) performances. Long story short - playback is both easy to use in live performances and used in Lana's live performances, so this note seems outdated.

Additionally, the section seems outdated considering the amount of releases and commentary on her vocal style in those releases since Honeymoon (2015), as well as the amount of tours and festivals (and commentary on her vocals in these performances) since this time. Template:Vital article

Family

In one place in the article, it states that Del Rey has a brother named Charlie. But later the article states she has a sister named Chuck. I ran across this reference to her sister Chuck in another article and came here hoping this article would have an answer on which it was but it doesn't. So does Del Rey have a trans sibling? My only concern is consistency. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 03:04, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Her sister, Caroline, goes by Chuck; her brother Charles goes by Charlie. I will add something to clear it up. Thank you. Spongeworthy93 (talk) 04:10, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alt-pop to infobox

Adding a sourced umbrella genre term "alt-pop" that's become prevalent in recent years for artists like Lana, Lorde, Billie Eilish etc who blend left-of-center pop with alternative, hip-hop, and electronic elements—4 sources supporting, including two from Billboard, would seem sufficient to justify it as a broad label included in the box. Kkollaps (talk) 16:09, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Soft disagree Soft agree: It's not incorrect, but "baroque pop" and "dream pop" are already listed, which are by definition, specific examples of alternative pop, as they're are not just "pop". It would be like an article for a grilled cheese sandwich with its genre as "sandwich", and somebody wanting to add the genre "food". Like, okay, it's not wrong, but sandwich does a better job and adding the food label is unnecessary. see reply below spongeworthy93 talk 00:13, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Baroque pop isn’t an alt-pop subgenre at all, it originated in the 1960s. Dream pop may be, but doesn’t describe her work across the board. Alt-pop is an umbrella term with more cited sources than either of those—if anything, umbrella terms should get precedence over lesser-sourced subgenres in an infobox, especially considering how many other alt subgenres (sadcore, chamber pop, indie, etc) have been applied to her work and are simply screened out at the moment. Seems fine enough to me. You shouldn't take personal offense to your edits being reverted. It simply stated you have to gain consensus here before changing. spongeworthy93 talk 21:22, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also pretty ticked off that my additions to the musical style section were reverted along with the infobox change? Seems uncalled for. Kkollaps (talk) 18:19, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that. You had many serial edits without edit summaries, which made it hard to follow. spongeworthy93 talk 21:27, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Soft agree: alt-pop is sourced in the body of the article. In its (sourced) article baroque pop isn't described as an alt-pop subgenre; dream pop is an alternative rock subgenre, alternative pop seems to be a variant of alternative rock. Blueberry72 (talk) 21:04, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New album "Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd"

Noticed that there's a slight typo in the title of the new album. It should be "Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd", not "Did You Know There Is A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd?" Mwb1291 (talk) 16:24, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal (for now)

The result of this discussion was do not merge.

Proposal to merge Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd to the relevant section of this article, per my reverted edit. There is simply not enough information on the album to justify a separate article currently, and the paragraph of information there can be used to fill out the currently sparse section on this page. @Ss112 U-Mos (talk) 17:29, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose — this article doesn’t have enough information yet as it has only recently announced. Lana will eventually announce a release date for the album, and as that date approaches, she will eventually release the full track list. ( Plus, she might drop another single or two before the album’s release). I say nay to merging this article with Lana’s main page because it will grow in time. Main picture change

Lana's appearance and style have changed since her performance at the Grammy Museum in 2019, and I think a new picture would more accurately represent her. Something from her appearance at Billboard Women in Music 2023 would work great, as they're mostly licensed red carpet photos in which she is staring straight forward. Voice and timbre section outdated
