**** Correction -- wrestling commentators TODAY routinely refer to "huge arm muscles" as pythons. But in 1976-1977-1978 it indeed was unusual -- both the reference and the arms were unusual. It is indeed linked to Superstar Billy Graham as a character. Chesspride[[Special:Contributions/216.144.161.51|216.144.161.51]] ([[User talk:216.144.161.51|talk]]) 21:53, 18 May 2023 (UTC) |

Fair use rationale for Image:Graham-book.jpg
Image:Graham-book.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 15:49, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
"cool heels"
it could be argued that, before the nWo and the Rock, the FOUR HORSEMEN were the most popular cool heels, dating back to the late 80s.
It should be popular heels, not cool heels. 76.110.82.251 (talk) 02:19, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Children?
I know that Billy is married to Valerie but I haven't heard anything about them having children.Does anyone know if they have children since I haven't had a chance to read his book yet? Thanks. (MgTurtle 00:17, 16 July 2007 (UTC)).

Move to Billy Graham (wrestler). Same as "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert → Eddie Gilbert (wrestler). --13 of Diamonds (talk) 11:58, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Dead?
At about 3 p.m. today someone changed infobox to reflect a date of death of today (January 28, 2009). No verification was given. Could not find any confirmation online. Malicious edit or foretelling of the future? Davemackey (talk) 00:35, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
World Heavyweight Champion?
Billy Graham was never WORLD Heavyweight Champion. The WWWF Title was a regional championship at that point(1971-1983). —Preceding unsigned comment added by John Pallin (talk • contribs) 08:18, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
- The WWE/WWf/WWWF title was always a splinter from the NWA World Heavyweight title from the original Buddy Rogers/Lou Thesz controversy in 1963. It was always generally regarded as a legitimate version of the World Heavyweight title and was recognised as a world title by Pro Wrestling Illustrated and its sister publications except for a two year period 1983-1985 which the publishing company has since renounced as a mistake. The night Graham won the title, the defending champion he dethroned, Bruno Sammartino, was announced as "the World Wrestling Champion" by the MC. A title versus title match between Graham and NWA champion Harley Race in January 1978 was heavily promoted as a unification match between two rival World Heavyweight Championship claims, as were subsequent such matchups between Race and Bob Backlund in 1979 and Backlund and Ric Flair in 1982. 62.190.154.115 (talk) 13:35, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Bias
This article is a little biased and very-pro Graham. I had to remove a bit that was an editorial, but it seems that this article is covered with positive editorial about Graham's career. A call for neutrality is recommended. 71.193.123.19 (talk) 23:18, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- I noticed that too. I've been cleaning the article up a bit. One length section in particular was written almost as an advertisement.LM2000 (talk) 09:40, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
Addtl dead link
As of this date, http://www.superstarbillygraham.net/ contains no original or substantive content regarding this subject. It appears that the website URL is for sale and this page is a placeholder. Kathon (talk) 19:00, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
Requested move

The result of the proposal was move per request.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 01:47, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
Billy Graham (wrestler) → Superstar Billy Graham – This is a preferred disambiguator to the suffix "(wrestler)" since it will allow more direct linking. While nicknames are not usually included in article titles, Graham's nickname is used so ubiquitously that it is the natural disambiguator (similar to Stone Cold Steve Austin). A search of the Google News Archive returns 128 results for "Superstar Billy Graham" and zero results for "Billy Graham (wrestler)". McPhail (talk) 21:32, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
- Support as nominator. McPhail (talk) 21:32, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
- Support and Oppose Not the way we generally do it, but it is a very common nickname. InedibleHulk (talk) 21:53, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
- huh? Those would be mutually exclusive, so which do you mean? Is it that you like this move in particular, but wanted to state that it is not a categorical support of such moves in the future? I'm genuinely confused. oknazevad (talk) 03:32, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- It's like being neutral. But neutral would imply I chose to not decide. I chose both, so I stick in the middle by default. But no, this has nothing to do with other cases. Some I might support, most I definitely wouldn't. InedibleHulk (talk) 05:11, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
- Support per nominator, as it is a far more natural form of disambiguation. oknazevad (talk) 03:32, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- Support - the common name is Superstar Billy Graham. Just 33 matches as "Billy Graham", 3 of which were on TV/PPV, this is versus 576 matches as "Superstar Billy Graham", 69 of which were on TV/PPV. Also, just 1 match as Wayne Coleman. It's not as if the page is currently at "Billy Graham", which might allow direct linking, but since it's at "Billy Graham (wrestler)", I just think that it's not as useful or recognizable if people are used to remembering the "Superstar" before "Billy". Starship.paint (talk) 12:13, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- Support - per nominator.LM2000 (talk) 15:59, 24 November 2013 (UTC)
- Comment the nominator's Google search is very flawed. The evangelist Billy Graham is the meaning of 1/4 of the results -- 65.94.78.70 (talk) 09:03, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Poor language (unexplained specialist terminology), needs inline references, too fragmentary. Eixo 14:11, 11 August 2006 (UTC) |
