List of Parkruns in the United Kingdom

It's a shame this page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Parkruns_in_the_United_Kingdom ) has been deleted. It had the parkruns listed by county - very useful information for parkrun "regionnaires", which is not available on the main parkrun page (https://www.parkrun.org.uk/). The latter only shows a map. Much Wenlock, Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and articles get a page here by being notable, having independent verifiable sources and a neutral tone. We are not a help page for parkrun, and its usefulness there is not a criterion here. The page was deleted after this discussion. Given that it was deleted by community consensus, and the message above is your only edit here, I think you need to explain what you plan to do before I consider undertaking the tedious process of restoring 1400+ edits Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:38, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

I had seen the discussion and don't intend to reheat it. I don't agree with the reasoning and the decision taken by the seven editors, and I don't think the many contributors to the page will agree with it either (nor will many of the 8.4 million registered parkrunners, about half of which are registered in the UK, https://wiki.parkrun.com/index.php/Summary_Statistics). Were they asked? "Community consensus" is perhaps stretching the meaning and definition of the term a but much.

One Mega Group

Hello,

I'm considering recreating the One Mega Group page from scratch. Did the page contain any citations, references and other information that can be of use? This is assuming that the content of the said page didn't contain copyright violations. Forgot to mention that I'm not connected with the said entity or its associated companies whether as an employee or contractor. Ianlopez1115 the original OMG was 22kb of pure spam, the version as deleted by me was two sentences with a self-source ref, article guided by a socking UPE. However, your query picked up Draft:One Mega Group. It's pretty promotional, with YouTube, Instagram and Facebook among its sources too, but you'll need to start there. It's basically spam with few real facts about the company (financials, employees etc), and with obvious UPE editing, so I'm happy to delete it. Gave it a glance and here's my thoughts on the draft:

- It need not start from scratch but can be restructured similar to articles covering other magazine publishing companies.

- Replacing citations coming from YouTube, Instagram and Facebook can be doable.

- Adding more relevant facts and accompanying citations is definitely not easy, (either potential sources don't meet the independent sources requirement or there's not much secondary sources covering the said company and its publications though I could be wrong).

- As a noticeable portion of the current draft is focused on the founder (Sari Yap), a separate draft/article may be created provided that it meets the general notability guideline and other relevant guidelines covering biographies.

Time permitting, I'll start working on restructuring the One Mega Group draft later this week. -Ian Lopez @ 14:50, 29 May 2023 (UTC)

I gave it a go, included notable sources (NYT, published book), added academic refs and worked the tone (the first version was copied from Dutch wikipedia). Shortened titles, and so on. Sven Jense I made these changes. Note that publications don't need references, especially when they are links to sales sites. Assuming they are were married, should be "Tonia Hendrika née Verkui". I don't know if it's different there, but in the UK a PhD is an academic award, not a promotion. Article Draft deletion inquiry

Dear Jimfbleak, would you be able to provide me with some hints as to why the article about the artist Jatun Risba was deleted and how to improve the entry? The references and sources were all made with care and following the guidelines. Is it about the tone of the text, not neutral enough? Being a non-native English speaker and fresh Wikipedian, this could be the case. I was actually looking at similar entries in the living artist area while drafting it. Hello, I just noticed you deleted a page I wrote about Azura Partners; could you please let me know how I could improve the page to comply with the guidelines? Arnab, not quite as straightforward as that. Given its long history, it wouldn't be appropriate to recreate as a draft, really intended for new articles, and my deletion as a copyright violation followed two earlier revdels in January this year and 2019. We don't normally restore copyright violations, and in this case it would involve recreating all the hidden edits. I'd like to help, but I'm not sure what you are suggesting is appropriate Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:26, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

Crisitology page deleted

Not sure why my page was deleted. I am currently in my Ph.D. and researching Crisitology as a topic. I wanted to introduce the term to a wider audience and thought that is what Wikipedia was for. But I was accused of self promotion? Not sure how scientific research in frontier fields of science is considered self promotion. Dodman Please be careful, you blanked your own first message. Effectively what you suggest for the image is correct, we can't use an existing image unless it has an explicit PD (or similar free to use for any purpose, including commercial) tag.
