As it currently is, I think the current story overview needs some changes in order to make it more concise and useful for those unaware of the franchise's plot. I have three somewhat minor changes that I think would help it better, but I want to see if people agree with them before I implement them, especially since this is a semi-protected page. My changes are as follows |
|||
# Remove the reference to the Bite of '87. It should not be here for multiple reasons such as a. It just feels very out of place in the rest of the summary and does not help anyone get a sense of what the plot is b. Even though it is iconic, the Bite of '87 does not hold really any significance in the grand scheme of things, besides the fact that it is the reason the animatronics can not roam during the day but the summary does not even state it. I don't think the Bite of '87 was ever meant to be too important to the larger story, I think Cawthon just put it into Phone Guy's call to add to the mystery and horror of the pizzeria, not because it has any real lore behind it (at least no lore notable enough for a brief summary). 2. Remove the FNaF 4 Crying Child summary. As it is now it feels very out of place and just seems like you are throwing non-essential info into the summary. If the summary just said that Fazbear's Family Diner eventually closed down due to the Bite of '83, where a kid was put into the animatronics mouth by his older brother and friends then it would be better but still may be clunky. Unlike the Bite of '87, I do believe that is important for the larger franchise but the main reason for why it is important to many fans is due to apparent connection to Michael Afton. Which kid Michael Afton is, or whether he is even one of them, is a hotly debated topic so I am advocating the article mention it. However, since the article does not show why this event is important for the larger franchise, I feel like currently listing this event makes readers confused rather than informed, because it is just haphazardly thrown into a random part of the summary, with seemingly no contribution to the larger narrative. 3. Probably the smallest change, contextualize Afton's death better. As of now, it again feels out of place (but unlike the other two, it does actually contribute to the summary). I feel like it should it say something like "After the closure of the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, Afton dismantles the remaining animatronics in a secret backroom. The ghosts possessing the animatronics are thus released and confront Afton", and then summarize the rest of his death. I feel like that just helps give context to when and where the ghosts actually confront Afton and why he is in that situation in the first place. I'm sorry if this was long-winded or wordy in parts, but I just feel like the current summary could be much better and thus help inform the people who read this article more. If you disagree with any or all of my changes, or think that my suggestions could be tweaked please tell me. |

Wikipedia article for Freddy Fazbear?
Should we make a wikipedia article for Freddy Fazbear? I mean he is the signature character of the series HiGuys69420 (talk) 15:18, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
- Feel free to make a draft at Draft:Freddy Fazbear. Make sure to include reliable sources and follow the VG Manual of Style. I suggest reading WP:GNG and using WP:VG/S to determine if a source is reliable or not. Pizzaplayer219TalkContribs 17:48, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

In the Human Characters section under William Afton and under Burntrap it states: "Burntrap is a heavily damaged and charred version of Spring Bonnie which contains Afton's undead body following his resurrection in Security Breach". This should be instead changed to: "Burntrap is a heavily damaged and charred version of Spring Bonnie which contains Afton's undead body following his resurrection in one of Security Breach's endings". This is due to the fact that in the later "Ruin DLC" expansion for the game Security Breach it is heavily implied that the "Burntrap Ending" from the base game is not canon to the games story via the comic strips made by the Security Breach character Gregory spread out across the "Ruin DLC" location. These comic strips contain all endings except for one which is the "Princess Quest" ending (which is not the "Burntrap" ending). Although not outright confirmed by the creator of the games, this change would make sure that no false information is told and the reader can choose whether or not being part of one of the various endings from the game means the Burntrap was canonically resurrected in the overall lore of the franchise. - Comment: I am aware that We Got This Covered is considered unreliable, but I think since in this case I'm simply attributing a quote to a reviewer, it should be fine. I'm hoping to get this DYK featured on October 31st if there is room to add to the Halloween DYK set. I am open to suggestions for alt hooks.

- I think my main concern with the first one is that, indeed, it's not a reliable source. I would recommend finding a reliable source that can be used for the DYK. The ALT's issue for me is twofold: one, CBR isn't a great source, and two, the ALT is a bit confusing. I don't really know what roastable means at first glance; I assume that it means he is easy to insult, but I feel like this detail tells us very little about the character. It may also not translate to someone who doesn't understand what roasting even means. I would recommend either finding a source that delves into the overall reception behind the character or an interesting tidbit about his creation. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 15:56, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

On the plot section, the lore is off. First, Fredbear's Family Diner was created by William Afton. A rivaling company, Chica's Party World, created by Henry Emily, eventually merged with Fredbear's. Following this, an accident happened with bullies, and Afton's son was killed in Fredbear's mouth. This is what set him off in the first place, then Henry's daughter became William's first victim.67.79.15.131 (talk) 14:20, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. The plot of this franchise is notoriously complicated and in unending dispute; we can't rely too much on editors' interpretations here. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 01:20, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
This video game franchise 'creating' a new subgenre of horror
From past the year, they are people (including horror fan themselves) in online and myself are citing strongly that this video game franchise accidentally 'create' a new horror subgenre (even through in retrospect, there are possible evidence that this subgenre been exist, decades before FNaF (in 2014) and video games in general, before the 1970s fully) as 'Mascot Horror'? Just like how similarity (which has the same concept, turning the concept of nostalgia into horror), Analog Horror did in the same decade?
So, it is necessary to add a subsection like this subgenre in the 'Cultural Influence' section? Chad The Goatman (talk) 01:38, 2 January 2024 (UTC)
UCN page merged with FNAF franchise
I personally feel that UCN deserves to be a page because it is the seventh main game in the series. Every other main game has a page so why is this one downgraded? 2601:243:C901:4600:5A0:82E1:5446:5816 (talk) 02:06, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
Is this real?
I think someone slipped this into IMDb as a prank. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29885098/reference/ I tried Googling for other sources on it, and I got some Fandom.com pages about a 1987 Five Night's at Freddy's cartoon starring John Goodman, but that's got to be something in-universe. At any rate, even that didn't show anything from 1987 with the title "Revenge of the FNAF" as given on IMDb. Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 17:36, 4 February 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah none of that is real, it's a bunch of internet shitposting. FnaF has only exited since 2014. λ NegativeMP1 17:47, 4 February 2024 (UTC)

Pizzeria Simulator page also merged?
You could argue that UCN is a side game (though most people agree it's the seventh game), but Pizzeria Simulator is definitely a main game. The sixth main game. I feel that at least this one deserves a page. Anonymous29345 (talk) 15:09, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

Game List is missing info
The release timeline is all sorts of messed up. It’s missing myPopgoes, Popgoes Evergreen, fnac fur, and TJOC remaster. These games are not released yet besides the Gamejolt version of myPopgoes (granted the Steam release is not out and has more content, so make of that as you will). Fnac 1-3 also have a remaster planned with one of them being out already. Granted, the first remaster was released before the fanverse, but once the remasters come out it would be awkward to not have the first remaster there. Also as a suggestion to avoid confusion, it should be specified that onaf 1 and 2 in the 2020 year are mobile ports in the timeline portion. It is worth considering adding the original PC release of these games but that is up for debate and can open a can of worms involving if the other pre fanverse games should be added. Story Overview Revamp
As it currently is, I think the current story overview needs some changes in order to make it more concise and useful for those unaware of the franchise's plot. I have three somewhat minor changes that I think would help it better, but I want to see if people agree with them before I implement them, especially since this is a semi-protected page.
