Changing Chibi to SuperDeformed

I've noticed you have recently gone through a ton of articles changing Chibi to Super Deformed. However the two terms do not mean the same thing and I am concerned that you are not accurately taking in the context and making sure it is an actual "misuse of the term." I have started a thread about this at the Anime and manga project, and am asking that you please stop the changes and instead discuss your reasonings there.-- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 17:30, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

My talk page

Hey I've noticed that you've reverted my edits on my own talk page without any sort of conversation or edit summery. Don't ever do anything like this again. Thanks! JohnnyMrNinja 18:09, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

 • I spotted a blanked page, and unfortunately my Lupin script seemed to have a hiccup at that time, causing me to have to manually rollback the suspected vandalism; Hence the empty description. Apart from that, keep WP:CIV in mind while editing. Mot likely it was not your intention, but the line "Don't ever do anything like this again" didnt really strike me as veing friendly. Thanks in advance for that :) Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 18:18, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Assume good faith also. I just woke up and saw it at the same time as the above comment, and thought they were related. Apologies. JohnnyMrNinja 18:25, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nike

Can you point me to the recent consensus for the moves you have performed on Nike? The only thing I see is an old discussion from 2007 that ended in no consensus. xenocidic (talk) 14:40, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Nike (disambiguation)#Requested move - was closed as move. JohnnyMrNinja
From what I can see it was closed as It was requested that this article be renamed but there was no consensus for it to be moved. --Stemonitis 11:19, 1 February 2007 (UTC). Am I missing something? xenocidic (talk) 14:46, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've asked Discospinster to comment here as well - hope that's ok. xenocidic (talk) 14:49, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I fear it was I who missed that, I saw The result of the proposal was Nike → Nike (disambiguation) — Make room for Nike to become a redirect to Nike, Inc.. Making a formal move proposal because there has been previous debate on the topic. cmhTC 14:47, 10 January 2007 (UTC). I have only ever seen the closing results in this position, as in AfDs like Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Black_Einstein. Discospinster was responding to my DB template. Oh dear.JohnnyMrNinja 14:52, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it seems that the request was to move Nike to Nike, Inc. as opposed to using it as a disambiguation page. I will do the necessary juggling. ... discospinster talk 14:53, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, that was not the request. The request was as it is now (that you've moved it). JohnnyMrNinja 14:55, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For clarity, the request was for the double move:
Nike -> Nike (disambiguation)
Nike, Inc. -> Nike
But it found no consensus. - Regard<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Lupin/navpop.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css&dontcountme=s"><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:MarkS/XEB/live.css&action=raw&ctype=text/css&dontcountme=s">s, Ev (talk) 15:21, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm confused as well. You guys sort it out ;p. xenocidic (talk) 14:56, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think I've confused myself... The request was for Nike to be moved to (disambiguation) to make room for a redirect, but Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(companies) specifically say that Inc. is not to be used unless disambiguating, so Nike, Inc. should actually take Nike, instead of a redirect. JohnnyMrNinja 14:58, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh man! So what should I do now? ... discospinster talk 15:10, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Re-open another RM discussion, I guess? As far as I can see "status quo" was the (non-)decision last time. xenocidic (talk) 15:12, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If companies shouldn't be disambiguated with "Inc.", then use Nike (company) or something else. Moving the article on the cloths manufacturer to Nike without any previous discussion (via a proper move request) and against the result of the previous discussion on the issue is not the adequate course of action. - Ev (talk) 15:29, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As Xenocidic mentioned, that discussion was closed as no consensus for [the article Nike, Inc.] to be moved [to Nike, and the disambiguation page to Nike (disambiguation)]. And there's absolutely nothing "logical" about such a move either. In fact, in my personal view, the primary meaning is quite clearly the Greek deity... however, I have not argued for such a change. — Of course, you're free to start a new proper move request anytime you want. But, in the meantime, please undo your page moves. - Regards, Ev (talk) 15:15, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jesus, do whatever you like. I misunderstood a strangely-closed discussion. I really don't care. JohnnyMrNinja 15:34, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, JohnnyMrNinja. I lost my temper here, and in all honesty simply failed to assume good faith on your part... my most sincere apologies.
I think of these kind of articles as the ones that most transparently reflect Wikipedia's approach to the encyclopedic idea and tradition. Upon seeing your page moves, I interpreted them in the worst possible way, as a thoughtless and dismissive attempt to grant a mere clothes manufacturer more encyclopedic relevance than the millenarian Greco-Roman traditions & heritage of Western civilisation. - The many typoes and wrongly formatted wikilinks of my posts to this talk page show the subsequent adrenaline rush...
I have reverted the disambiguation page to the status quo ante. - Once again, my most sincere apologies for allowing my temper get the best of me. - Best regards, Ev (talk) 16:09, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see now that the polltop template was misplaced, creating confusion. I have corrected that to make the closing admin's comment more clear, and avoid future misunderstandings. - I apologise again for jumping to conclusions. - Regards, Ev (talk) 16:48, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I just feel bad for Discospinster, who only acted on my misunderstanding. I also thought it was a policy to have pages at the least-surprising position for the majority of people (but it turns out to be a guideline), and I have more fully explained my logic at the village pump. JohnnyMrNinja 16:57, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will comment there. - Ev (talk) 17:27, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We were all acting in good faith and all a little confused. I blame whoever placed the polltop in the confusing place, let's form a lynch mob! I got the tar and feathers. ;> ( i keed ) xenocidic (talk) 16:59, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I would also like to say that I heard a rap song about moving pages. Now, with all this confusion, it is unlikely i will ever get street cred... JohnnyMrNinja 17:04, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Delete for Aaron Green

You're a little too quick, there, Mr. Ninja. The article is clearly not Speedy Delete A7, as I've stated very clearly in the first sentence how Green qualifies for notability. And if you'd taken the time to read the article, the talk page, or any of the edit notes, you'd have seen that it's also clearly not spam. If you want to challenge the article's existence, go for an AfD. The article will be a keeper any way you slice it, so maybe you shouldn't bother wasting your time.  X  S  G  04:37, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have already addressed that on the talk page. JohnnyMrNinja 04:45, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of articles with "X" in the title

This link will bring up a list of articles with "video game" in the title. You can also find all project pages[1] (to see what's been listed for deletion, what's been featured, and other interesting stuff), users[2] (helps with recruiting for a WikiProject, finding video game userboxes), categories[3] (so you can organize them to make sense and find any stray/duplicate categories), templates[4] (to get an overview of what's out there, find user boxes), etc.. Bebestbe (talk) 15:23, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Category:WikiProject Video games non-article pages (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for renaming to Category:NA-Class video game articles (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. MrKIA11 (talk) 20:59, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TfD, CfD

Not really. I guess just put a posting on the talk pages of those pages, but I'm not sure about bots and tools, etc. Is there a way to request an announcement like the ones at the top of the watchlist that you can hide? I think that way everyone would know. MrKIA11 (talk) 15:58, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Both good ideas. We'll see how it goes. MrKIA11 (talk) 16:32, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I saw that great response on the assistance page, and if you want me to help out in any way, feel free to ask. MrKIA11 (talk) 12:25, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Complaint at AN

I closed your thread at AN about LGRdC because nothing productive was going to come of it. I do recognise that his behaviour is frustrating but he does fulfill a useful role as the inclusionist gadfly. Most admins know how to weigh his arguments against policy and no matter how many times he repeats something if its not policy based it has limited validity in closing an AFD or deletion discussion. If the situation continues to upset you I would suggest that you considered a user RFC or mediation. I would say that neither of these routes will be available unless you can show that you have attempted to resolve the issue with LGRdC personally. Spartaz Humbug! 11:50, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, you can always drop me an email sometime as I am happy to correspond with editors off-wiki. In any event, there are far more important things, such as price gouging by the oil companies, to actually get frustrated about than AfDs. --Happy editing! Sincerely, Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 18:37, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You may be interested in the following college course. I see that you don't mean for the article to be serious from this edit; however, would you be opposed to having a lead that mentions some serious sources like the above ("The subject of water in popular culture has been the focus of course at the University of California") and then the list of references or would you prefer that be used in an actual article on the topic should other sources be available? --Happy editing! Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sonic Adventure DX DC cast promo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Sonic Adventure DX DC cast promo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:49, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ce thanks

Quick thanks for the copyedits you're doing on the TWEWY article. I just cannot see some of these things after looking over the article dozens of times prior to that type of review, and even with a pre-FAC ce, that still doesn't capture it all. --MASEM 06:04, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. They were very quick, as I really should be sleeping. I haven't played The World Ends with You, but I think I will now. Truly the biggest issue I noticed is that the phrase "the game" is used a lot. I tried to switch it as much as I could. The article already looked great. Good luck! JohnnyMrNinja 06:24, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You tagged Image:Cd cover image.jpg for deletion as csd-i8, but an administrator declined to delete the file, since he or she couldn't find a file by that name on the Commons. The file is missing some crucial information, and I would appreciate it if you could visit the image page and add any missing information that you can. Similarly, radio station logos are normally fair use rather than public domain, and therefore aren't permitted on the Commons. --Eastmain (talk) 15:30, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I notice you tagged this file as a copyright violation. The PDB states here that all data and structural images in the PDB is in the public domain. Tim Vickers (talk) 03:00, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome, thanks. I couldn't find that info; it's great that they do that. ~ JohnnyMrNinja 03:12, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: post on my talk page

I unprotected it, but I fail to see why you are so indignant that I protected it in the first place. You have not made any edits for more than a month, and my "reverting to the last version by you" means utterly nothing. All it means is that you were the last person to make an edit to the page before the vandal did. J.delanoygabsadds 01:37, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was not aware that it is common practice to fully-protect things after one act of vandalism with no discussion or consensus. I am not an administrator, but I have maintained and edited most of the video game stub templates. Should I have to become an administrator to decide that a soccer icon is more useful than a golf one? I would not object to semi-protection, but a full-protection without very good reason is just saying that those who aren't sysops have no business touching it, and have nothing of value to add. ~ JohnnyMrNinja 01:48, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, you were correct. I overreacted full-protecting it right out of hand. I'll semi-protect it, as it is used on a lot of pages. Sorry for the hassle. J.delanoygabsadds 02:02, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal: Move main page to a different namespace

The discussion to rename the Main Page was archived, so I moved it to Village pump (proposals)/Persistent proposals to prevent archiving. I don't know what the next step is but it would be a shame to let all that go to waste. ~ JohnnyMrNinja 23:57, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea what you are doing, but you just moved it from an active noticeboard into an archive. We cannot continue the conversation in the archive, that is why I moved it to Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)/Persistent proposals‎. Someone else had archived it, I fixed it, and you just moved it back. Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)/Persistent proposals‎ is NOT an archive, it is a noticeboard that doesn't get archived, so there's no timelimit. ~ JohnnyMrNinja 01:29, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I archived the proposal intentionally so that I could restart it at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Proposal: Move the main page to Portal:Wikipedia. The previous discussion had become so ungainly that users were showing up, misunderstanding the issue, and opposing because of that. Restarting the discussion gives us a way to move past that and present a clearer picture of what is being requested. —Remember the dot (talk) 01:42, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You are of course very welcome to reiterate your support under the restarted proposal. —Remember the dot (talk) 01:45, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OH, ok sorry. That discussion is very confusing. Good work! ~ JohnnyMrNinja 01:49, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Category based Bot Tagging

Hi there, I hope you remember expressing serious concerns regarding category based WikiProject tagging by bots here. I made this FAQ list which tries to answer some of your concerns. Let me know if you have any questions . Thanks -- Tinu Cherian - 11:17, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback access granted

After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

 • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
 • Rollback can be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
 • Rollback may be removed at any time.

If you no longer want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Happy editing!
