ASAP XV, originally known as simply A.S.A.P. (All-Star Sunday Afternoon Party) is a longest-running Philippine noontime Musical Variety Show aired by ABS-CBN. The show is presented by its main hosts Zsa Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Vina Morales and Gary Valenciano. The show is broadcast from ABS-CBN Studio 10, the network's biggest studio, in Quezon City.

History

1995-2009: Early years

January 28, 1995 saw the transfer of Eat Bulaga! to GMA Network. Due to this, ABS-CBN had to replace the long running and much syndicated Sa Linggo nAPO Sila to the vacated slot of Eat Bulaga!. The musical variety show ASAP started, (February 5, 1995) aired every Sunday at 12 noon to 2:30pm with the original hosts namely Pops Fernandez, Martin Nievera, Ariel Rivera and Dayanara Torres. Mr. Martin Nievera gave the title ASAP which means All Star Afternoon Party. Along with the main hosts are then upcoming teenage stars from Talent Center and the Pare Ko cast, Claudine Barretto, Jao Mapa, Gio Alvarez, Roselle Nava, Victor Neri, Nikka Valencia and Jolina Magdangal later on joined by Marvin Agustin, Diether Ocampo and Mylene Dizon (from the youth-oriented show - GIMIK), Rica Peralejo and Angelika dela Cruz. The show served as training ground for the teenagers to enhance their talent in hosting, dancing and singing.

When Dayanarra Torres left the country, Ms. Charlene Gonzales took her place. Channel V’s Joey Mead also joined the show for a while. By 1997, regular guest Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla became a regular host the following year. After Martin Nievera left two years ago, award-winning actor Richard Gomez took his place. In March 1999, matinee idol Onemig Bondoc joined the group.

The show originally had their own theme song, set, as well as interesting and innovative numbers. Initial broadcast commenced on February 1995 at the Delta Theatre (a former studio of ABS-CBN from 1995-1998). In 1998, they transferred to their (present) studio at the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center Studio 3 in Eugenio Lopez Drive in Quezon City.

ASAP became one of the top-rating noontime shows and became the favorite launching ground of aspiring new talents from the recording industry to the movie industry as well. Only on ASAP will you get to hear new music fresh from the airwaves and the latest dance steps from your favorite dance groups Maneouvres and Streetboys who regularly perform on the show. Stars with new movies, before the premiere, get the chance to promote and perform on the show with interviews and production numbers.

In 2003, the show was reformatted as ASAP Mania, after which some of its original hosts went to the rival show, SOP Rules. The current format started in 2005 as ASAP '05. In 2008, Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha joins ASAP. Enchanting Diva Karylle, Zsa Zsa Padilla's daughter joins ASAP as she transfers from Kapuso to Kapamilya. [1]
