Nickelodeon in amusement parks

Nickelodeon Central is a themed kids area at Australia’s Dreamworld theme park and Movie Park Germany (as "NICK Land"). From 2000 to 2005, Paramount Parks launched the area in its major parks; the licensing carried over with their sale to Cedar Fair in late-2007, but has since been dropped for Planet Snoopy.

Each incarnation of Nickelodeon Central, or Nick Central for short, had a unique combination of attractions, often dependent on what rides existed at the parks before the rebrand. Generally, Nick Central areas took over the park’s Hanna-Barbera Land or a previous Nickelodeon branded area.

The first Nickelodeon Central opened in 2000 at Kings Dominion in Virginia, followed in 2001 by Kings Island, Dreamworld in 2002, and in 2003 at Carowinds, Great America, and Canada's Wonderland. The Carowinds area was expanded in 2005, taking over Animation Station (an incarnation of Hanna-Barbera Land) and Zoom Zone. The Kings Island area was also expanded in 2006, and was renamed to Nickelodeon Universe. In 2007 the first European Nick area opened at Movie Park Germany named "NICK Land". Nickelodeon Universe and the Nickelodeon Centrals in all but one of the theme parks has since been closed and rethemed to Planet Snoopy.

Dreamworld runs two different shows a day at their theatre, thus the listed show runs overlap. Kings Dominion left their theatre space vacant in 2006. Canada’s Wonderland ran Dora’s Sing-Along Adventure in Playhouse Theatre, part of the park’s Kidzville section, as opposed to a facility in Nickelodeon Central.

All former Paramount Parks introduced "Marty’s Party" in 2009, replacing "Dora’s Sing-Along Adventure". The new show wasn’t associated with any Nickelodeon brand, and hinted at Cedar Fair dropping the Nickelodeon brand. In the venues where the facilities were known as Nickelodeon Theatre, the space was renamed Putz HQ; Canada’s Wonderland retained its Playhouse Theatre moniker, as the stage was never in the Nickelodeon Central area.

Movie Park Germany does not have a theatre for Nickelodeon productions, but instead runs a small song-and-dance show featuring Dora, SpongeBob, Patrick, and Jimmy Neutron near the park's entrance.

Walk-around characters

Each park has a rotating schedule of Nickelodeon costumed characters that meet and greet with guests, daily. Not all characters are at all parks, due to popularity and cast sizes. While characters may appear at one park on occasion, they are not guaranteed to appear daily. Characters with an asterisk after their name are believed to only have appeared in the Nickelodeon Celebration Parade, which toured Canada's Wonderland, California's Great America, Carowinds, Kings Island, and Kings Dominion from 2004 to 2007.
