Financial export

I've connected Financial export to articles Economy of the United Kingdom, London, New York City, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands. Are there any other suggestions you have for locations? I'm thinking the article might do better under 'Financial trade' so that it could include financial service import, as well as export, information.Nick Kerr 13:29, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SVG railway maps

Incase you didn't notice, I replied to your question (plea?) on commons:Commons:Village_pump#SVG_artists_needed, and made Image:Wfm_sunderland_station.svg by way of illustration. If you're going to be producing more than a handful of similar diagrams, I can heartily recommend learning Inkscape to author them as SVGs. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 16:21, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

london railway stations

Thanks for your support for renaming the Waverley station article. I have now put a request for it to be renamed as you suggested.

Do you think that the London railway termini should also be renamed? e.g. Euston station to London Euston station etc. This is particularly important for Victoria station (London) as there are several "Victoria stations" worldwide. Our Phellap 22:07, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Wikimedia UK meeting

Hi Chris, dunno if you sent me your message instead of David Gerard, or just called me David by mistake (!), but I said on the mailing list that I can't make any meeting before the Brum one or that one itself :-( - though I could make London the following week - have put this on Meta. As I explained in this edit, it was accidental. Would it be easier to delete the entire conversation in the neutral section, or leave it there? - Hbdragon88 23:57, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject anti-war, Article improvement drive

February 15, 2003 anti-war protest an article from the WikiProject Anti-war, which you are listed as a member of, has been nominated for the Article Improvement Drive (by me ).

It is an article about a day of much importance both to the history of the anti-war movement and to general discussion of the Iraq war. With a little work from experienced editors it could gain FA status. If you would like to see it improved please vote for it at Make "February 15, 2003 anti-war protest" the subject of an Article Improvement Drive--JK the unwise 13:14, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GB railway stations

Hi. I’ve just posted a request for comments at Talk:Nottingham station regarding the “service information boxes” in GB railway station articles. I’m not sure who the first begetter of these boxes was, but as I noticed you are a frequent contributor on rail-related topics I thought you might care to take a look. --Picapica 22:40, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your watchlist archive

Hi, just FYI: I took the libery of fixing the Image: and Category: links on your watchlist archive (User:Thryduulf/watchlist20060127). Remember to add a leading colon (:) to such links, otherwise you display the images inline and add the page to the categories. This causes problems because that page probably doesn't belong in those categories, and many of the images where fair use, meaning they are not allowed on a user subpage. Please keep this in mind with future archivings. Thanks. --Sherool (talk) 20:57, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Parker vandalism

Greetings, Thryduulf!
Thanks for your suggestion on the Adminstrator's noticeboard re the troubles I've been having with James John Parker. I've been an administrator for some time, but this is the first time I've encountered repeated "vandalism" of this type--I put the word in quotes as I don't think it is in bad faith, just by someone who doesn't understand the rules of the road--and I've never had to protect an article. I've done as you suggested and "semi-protected" it. I'm grateful for your idea. PedanticallySpeaking 17:52, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA

Hi Thryduulf, thanks for participating in my RfA discussion. Unfortunately, my fellow Wikipedians have decided at this time that I am not suitable to take on this additional responsibility, as the RfA failed with a result of 66/27/5 (71.0% support). I hope that if I do choose to reapply in the future, the effort I will make in the meantime to improve and expand my contributions to Wikipedia may persuade you to reconsider your position from neutral. London trains

Well done! Just now for complete perfectness please make the tables of the same width. And also, I don't think there is a need to repeat TOC in every section. I agree it is helphul, but maybe every other or every third section? 'Cause now it is too cluttered for my liking. Renata 03:10, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Pedophilia

I meant to drop you a note about this, as you had expressed an interest in the project at WP:AN but I got caught up discussing the ArbCom case. This deletion is not a disguised censorship of the project, but a good faith (not necessarily correct, we'll see on WP:DRV) interpretation of user request; I will comment further on Deletion Review. I would not necessarily consider a new WikiProject Pedophilia written by the same or different authors to be recreation of deleted material, although such authors might like to consider alternatives such as creating the Project in Userspace or working with WikiProject Sex and Sexuality. I hope this clears things up a little, I'll go to WP:DRV to see what mistakes I'm supposed to have made ;) Physchim62 (talk) 18:35, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comment at the deletion. I agree with Physchim62 that the project would likely have changed a bit in its nature if we had put it up for debate and outside input. If such a thing does come about, it will likely be in a more benign guise. I expected that, but Herostratus was a bit impulsive; however, he thought he has doing the right thing, and acted in good faith. We were just testing the water, trying to initiate a little discussion about the criticism in that department. But thank you for the comment and the defense; it was very bold of you. --DanielCD 21:20, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Gosh, aren't you popular! I've also come to express appreciation for your comments at this project's MfD. Well said.

Hi Thryduulf.

I edited a couple of image files a while ago and when I re-uploaded, because Wiki was very slow that day, the file history was lost. Anyway, I have a feeling that they may have been yours and was wondering if you could have a look, and if so, add the appropriate image tags (the images are flagged-as untagged ATM) I think they were originally GFDL and I'd add the tags myself, but obviously I'd rather not in case I'm mistaken.

If they're not yours then just ignore all this!

OK Chris - have just uploaded them both to Commons! - Regards, Ian Dunster 14:13, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Have just tried the image myself and it's the new version - Wiki is very slow today and it may be that you're getting a local, ie., cached on your PC, early version - try refreshing your browser window (F5 in IE - CTRL + R in Firefox) so that it fetches an updated copy. :) Ian Dunster 14:36, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
LOL! - done it myself plenty of times in the past! :) Ian Dunster 15:02, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Point noted, but I don't think the rules were clear about sequential uninterrupted additions to a game. Rules modified to clarify the situation.

Talk page formatting

Thank you for formating my talk page, but if you could get the two vertical templates to show to the right of the TOC and without the white background that would be perfect!

Sorry I couldn't give an ideal solution. Did you want z-index stacking or just no wrapping? I'm not sure that all browsers will support either or both. So you may solve it for just one browser... — RJH 21:16, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
