If you fancy incorporating the sources please do. I'm certainly very difficult to offend wrt such matters! Hopefully PC will see what's been done if he's actively watching it. I'm not sure what he means by him doing most of the sourcing either... WormTT · (talk) 13:22, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to help assess Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods

Hi. I am inviting members of some WikiProjects to take part in evaluating their projects in order to help the Wikimedia Foundation better understand such projects from the inside, to encourage reflection on best practices, and to compile a list of best practices as recommended by a number of projects. I am contacting you because you are listed as an active member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods. Having witnessed that project's work in the past in my volunteer capacity, I'd very much like to include it. I hope that you will have time and interest in participating. As much or as little as you would like to supply would be gratefully received. The assessment questions are posted at Wikipedia:WikiProject Gastropods/Self-assessment. I will myself steer clear of the page until after any discussion seems to have become dormant, at which point I will ask questions to make sure that I am developing a good overview of opinions. Thanks. --Maggie Dennis (WMF) (talk) 12:59, 7 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of List of buses for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of buses is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of buses until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. SchuminWeb (Talk) 13:41, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Arguments to avoid

You may want to review Wikipedia:Arguments to avoid in deletion discussions at your convenience, paying close attention to WP:ITSUSEFUL. :) Viriditas (talk) 19:53, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh, Wise One. Good point. "How about: It's useful because visitors are able to compare attributes of various bus brands, such as year of manufacture, country of origin, etc." Is that an improvement?
Funny you point this out. I was just about to post on list of buses talk that maybe a table isn't such a good plan. I didn't realize that there are lots and lots of buses. I thought maybe a couple of dozen, tops. :) No table, no need for the list, right? Or maybe like List of car brands, name and year. I don't know.
I do know that there are really fanatical bus people out there who will love the table. There's something about buses and trains. Some folks are really into them. What do you think? :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:00, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I just commented over at the AfD. SchuminWeb nominated the list for deletion against the best practice of WP:NOTDUP: "arguing that a Category or List is duplicative of the other in a deletion debate is not a valid reason for deletion and should be avoided." As the second most active contributor to the navigational template, SchuminWeb "should not compete against [other editors] in a destructive manner, such as by nominating the complementary work of their colleagues to be deleted just because they overlap." Viriditas (talk) 20:04, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good comment at the AfD. I encountered the same "overlap is not bad" argument when preparing the first navboxes I made. In this case, the list and the navbox are really two different things, so I don't see why he objects.
So, are my additional comments at AfD an improvement? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:12, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
He objects because he is a primary contributor of a competing template.[1] This is why WP:CLN says "Developers of these redundant systems should not compete against each other in a destructive manner, such as by nominating the complementary work of their colleagues to be deleted just because they overlap." Your additional comments are great. Viriditas (talk) 00:55, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I find that difficult to understand because he's an admin, and as such should know the guidelines and see that the navbox is about something different. Maybe he will withdraw the AfD. I can't see it ending in delete, although it may eventually be moved to List of bus brands or something. Maybe I'll drop him a line. He seems like a nice fellow.
Thanks once again for the guidance. I would really be quite lost without you. My problem is that I've a head like a sieve when it comes to guidelines. I rely on common sense. Mostly that works out. Then again, "They mostly come at night.....mostly." Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:28, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Common sense rules the day. The only reason we even use policies and guidelines is to fill in the holes where people lack common sense. In other words, know and understand the policies and guidelines as best as you can, but if you are relying on common sense, you are welcome to ignore all rules because policy and guidelines are really, at their core, supposed to reflect common sense. Whenever I see an intractable problem, it becomes obvious that one or more editors lacks common sense. When discussion fails, we appeal to policy and guidelines. When that fails, we appeal to consensus. When that fails, we go to dispute resolution. As for admins, they are people too, and for the most part, they specialize in one or two areas. The community (like the real world) does not encourage or recognize generalists, and tends to nominate specialists. This means, essentially, that most admins are very good in only one area, so this isn't difficult to understand, it is a social/cultural phenomenon. If I were you, I would continue working on improving the list. Write a lead, consult with the bus project, keep getting more input like you are on the talk page. Discussion is important, but so is research and development. The best way to save an article in AfD is to listen to the criticism, meet it, and improve the article. Make note of your improvement in the AfD and the closer will recognize your efforts. Viriditas (talk) 01:44, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You see, this is why you should be in charge. When I asked why you don't want to be an admin, you cleverly, simply, didn't answer. Rather like Harvey Korman at the end of Blazing Saddles. You just slipped out. :)
Now, according to your reasoning about using common sense: I'm a genius, and anyone at arbitration should be in a special home for challenged Wikipedians.
I will take your sound advice about the bus thing. Geez. First wrestling, then a play, and now buses. Not my cup of tea at all. I still have the superclusters to expand. Get it? Expand? Space? Er...ok. But seriously, next to Universe, Hercules Superclusters may be the biggest article on Wikipedia. Huge! It's width is actually measured in "Pavarottis"! Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:11, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You are a genius. I first became aware of this when I saw what you were trying to do with your user page. In many ways, your user page represents a prototype for the "holy grail" of interface design, the zooming user interface, which frankly, nobody is doing anything about. Viriditas (talk) 02:50, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am? Thank you. Ok, I'll give you fifteen bucks if you tell that to my parents. Deeds don't impress them. They need testimonials. Perhaps I can get them committed as "mad". I wonder if that means a lot of annoying paperwork. I'll look into it.
As for my userpage, it's that tiny tool that's cool. But really, the reason my page looks the way it does, is because I can't bear to have anything that is mass produced. When I was a kid, I saw on TV, James Burke (I think) say: "Look in your pockets. Everything you have is one of millions of copies exactly the same." Ever since then, I've had an aversion to such things, and I have a deep appreciation for unique objects. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:03, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Qwyrxian: Of course you know I don't think you should be "in a special home for challenged Wikipedians". I know you got drawn into it. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:30, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sometimes I wouldn't mind such a home...I could rest easily, maybe catch up on my reading, etc. Alas, I find myself drawn to some areas of WP that are now and always will be in conflict (so long as the subjects they are about are a part of real-world conflict). Plus, I meet interesting people that way--as I recall, you and I met trying to handle some disruption at Dog meat.... But, of course, no offense taken--I will certainly agree that avoiding ArbCom is certainly a very very good plan for almost everyone...several editors have accused me of some pretty unpleasant things...and I just have to trust that Arbcom sees where the actual disruption is coming from. Qwyrxian (talk) 05:17, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

For your parents

Per your request, this is for your parents. You are now a certified genius! :) Viriditas (talk) 10:21, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ha ha! I love it! And you even got it notarized! I will put one copy with my awards, and another on the fridge. Thank you! Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:26, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Navbox for gastropods

Hi Anna, I am still out in CA (for an extra week because of a knee injury) and still mulling over the idea of a gastropods navbox. I still do like the idea of a simple one with just the major clades in it. I think it would be really cool to have that one, even if we only used it on the 41 major clades articles. Best to you, oh talented one! Invertzoo (talk) 21:56, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I will put something together. By the way, someone ate the clam picture in the edibles navbox. Also, What of the seashell template? Anything's better than salmon. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 22:50, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You are very kind, but please take your time Anna if you are busy in RL. I confess it was me that ate those clams! Until we can get hold of a prettier image of a dish of cooked clams, for now I think those river nerites look rather beautiful in their white bowl, especially at thumbnail size.
As for the seashell template, I actually couldn't work out which numbers you are supposed to put in for the colors. I do think a pale apricot might be good since that color is called "Seashell", but if it comes out as bandage beige it's not too great! And if you think that pale yellow is a better choice, we could go with that, whatever looks tasteful and low key. Unfortunately I don't have too much time to play around because I can't get WiFi reception in our motel room, only out in the courtyard here. It's some distance from the door to our room and so it is hard for me to limp out here with my crutches. As a result I don't spend as much time on Wp as I would like to right now, even though I can't do anything else really! Invertzoo (talk) 22:40, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm so sorry to hear about your knee. I hope it gets back to normal soon.
I know you ate my plate of clams. But somebody else ate your bowl of nerites. Now the template is molluskless (which is more fun to say than "wasps").
To find out what colour goes with the name at List of colors or a colour navbox, you can click edit in a separate tab or click the color name itself to find the HEX number.
I've given up on pinks and oranges. I spent a lot of time trying those, and they just ended up band-aid colour. I'm afraid I'll have to leave that up to you. I still prefer the yellows because they can be pale, and are the colour of sand. But that's just me, and I will accept anything quite happily.
All the best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:03, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Anna! I think pale yellow or sand color would be just fine for the seashell template. Fee free to just put it in if you can be bothered to. All the best, Invertzoo (talk) 23:29, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How about Apricot and Lemon chiffon as listed under Yellow on this page? But I still don't understand where you find the HEX number for those. Duh.... Maybe my sprained knee is affecting my brain! Invertzoo (talk) 20:50, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism on pages (addition of unofficial sites)

Hello. Certain agents are trying to promote their sites by continually appending their websites to official wiki pages on my watchlist: Wenzhou and Wenzhou Medical College. The culprit seems to be interested in adding only one site. The history of the pages would show me reverting these edits over the course of this month. Could you please help me deal with this issue? Thank you.
Compendium wmc (talk) 01:25, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm on the case, my friend. Thanks for telling me. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:29, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. It's hard to tell. But, it looks like you're right. All universities in China have .edu, while this is .net. Plus, there is a side-scrolling link "APPLY NOW" that shows it's connected to http://bestcollegeschina.com/ Click the link, and it gives a form asking for your passport number. I don't trust it, and will remove them all until it's proven official. The editor is claiming it as official, yet the .edu must be, and there can't be two official sites. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:43, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
And then there's http://www.wenzhouuniversity.com/. I've been watching Chinese uni pages for a couple of years, and have never seen a dot com.
Plus, I've experienced the addition of the cucas links before. Same story, pretending to be official, then you fill out a form, they have your personal info, and then ask for money.
I can't be sure about these .net and .com sites in question here. But, it's suspicious. I'm about to email the .edu site to try and find out. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:57, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I just emailed to io@wzmc.net the following:
Please advise on these websites:

Are they officially recognized by http://www.wzmc.edu.cn/en/?

Many thanks

(talk page stalker) Hm. Doing it this way showed three for bestcollegeschina. I have removed them as probable linkspam. If asking for passport details etc then I think that they may be a candidate for an edit filter. They certainly do not appear particularly to add any value to the articles in which they appeared. - Sitush (talk) 00:34, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why didn't I think of that? :) Thanks for removing them too. Cheers. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:58, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
www.wzmu.net is official recruitment website of Wenzhou Medical College, this website is run by Cosmo Enterprises Pvt Ltd. This company is actively recruiting students for Wenzhou Medical College since 2006. Please contact Mr Wang (Vic Director) School of International Studies Wenzhou Medical College on wzmczs@126.com or sis@wzmc.edu.cn. http://www.wzmc.edu.cn/en/contact_us.php 119.154.125.44 (talk) 18:21, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
www.wenzhouuniversity.com is also is the same run by Cosmo Enterprises Pvt Ltd recruiting students for Wenzhou University since 2006. 119.154.125.44 (talk) 18:21, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Wenzhou University and Wenzhou Medical College are two different institutes having their own independent management. so asking Wenzhou MEdical College about Wenzhou University is not a good idea.
www.bestcollegeschina.com is official website of Cosmo Enterprises Pvt Ltd. 119.154.125.44 (talk) 18:21, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I emailed: wzmczs@126.com and sis@wzmc.edu.cn asking for a comment. I have yet to receive a response from the last group of emails, and frankly, I don't expect a response from these either. We'll see. Thank you. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:31, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, is Xeerox1 = 119.154.125.44 ? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:31, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think the best solution for now is to provide only the official school website in the article. If this recruiting site(s) is legitimate, then they can find the link at the schools site. This is an encyclopedia. Not a promotional tool. I will remove the links. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:35, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you for the response Anna. I can shed some light on this issue. First of all, Wenzhou Medical College and Wenzhou University are two different entities, but the agent does work for the both of them. On a more pertinent note, the sites are merely cloned copies of the original sites that would make an unsuspecting user think they were viewing the original. Lastly, as you already noticed, the sites wzmu.net and wenzhouuniversity.com have links to bestcollegeschina because they are mirror pages of http://bestcollegeschina.com/about_wenzhou_medical_college.html and http://bestcollegeschina.com/wenzhou_university.html respectively.
This agent website has no more right to place itself on these wiki pages than the myriad other agencies that also represent Wenzhou Medical College, and if they were official, I believe that information would be appropriately placed on the school's official site.
Thank you again for working so hard to address this.
Compendium wmc (talk) 01:36, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all. Seeing that the links are suspect, it will be easy to keep them out. Xeerox1 will have to get consensus at talk to include them. He will have a hard time doing that. We can keep an eye on the pages and remove the links if they are added again. So, it's case closed for that institution. Now, I will dig for bestcollegeschina sites added to other articles. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:34, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I realize that this is something of a headache for you, but the user in question just can't get the rules governing wikipedia. I submit for your viewing his most recent edits to Wikipedia & Wikimedia, which now consist of watermarked pictures emblazoned with his website. This is beyond blatant. Please address this issue. Certainly, there are better ways to update a wiki page without defacing it. Thank You
Compendium wmc (talk) 11:11, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all. I'm very glad you brought it to my attention. I actually looked at the images before, but didn't see the watermarks. Strange. I have reported the user. The images will be deleted, and the user warned and watched. Many thanks for your vigilance. Let's both keep an eye out. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:37, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

FYI: I just found a website in the infobox at the article Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The official one, according to a Google search (for what that's worth) is http://www.at0086.com/JUTCM/admission-information.aspx. The one I removed is http://www.jutcm.com/, which links to bestcollegeschina.

Ah, I just noticed that on 26 July 2011, our IP 119.154.144.136 added it, and you removed it 8 August 2011. I'll keep an eye on that page too. Let's both also watch Ningbo University. That's the other one on their website.

I will post at project China to ask about this organization. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:57, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why did someone remove Shiny and safe! What more do you want from a bus?--213.107.74.132 (talk) 12:37, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because it was unencyclopedic. Would you expect to read an Encyclopedia Britannica article that said that? Certainly not.
They also removed comments you made from the article talk. I didn't quite agree with that, but I can understand it completely. I strongly suggest that you follow other editors' manner of conduct. Then you will be taken more seriously. Best wishes. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:44, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah. I see. I thought you were referring to the comments you made that were removed from talk. Yes. I did write "Shiny and safe! What more do you want in a bus?" But that was in a sample table at the talk page. You added "Shiny and safe! What more do you want in a bus?" to the article. Do you see the difference? Wenzhou Medical College

Anna you have no idea about our company and our operations. We are not simply the recruitment agents. We also provide scholarships to student intending to study in Chinese Universities. Recruitment departments of most of universities worldwide are commercial entities. I really dont have patience of explaining you. Please discuss with other editors about what you are doing now. They may give you a neutral opinion. This year around 150 international students are joining Wenzhou Medical College and about 50% students are recruited by us. No one can apply directly to Wenzhou Medical College. All applicant should go through selection process through us. We hold seminars, entry tests, spot admissions etc etc...Do you think a fraudulent company can have Govt scholarships quota, and cooperation with top public universities of China? Wmc.cosmo (talk) 17:14, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • You are using Wikipedia to promote your organization. Your addition of the wzmu.net watermarked images is evidence of that.
  • Your website is deceptive as it hides the links to bestcolleges and because it appears as the official university website.
  • Another editor contends that your site is not credible.
So, the onus is upon you, if you have the patience, to demonstrate the legitimacy of this website, and the need for its inclusion into Wikipedia articles. You need to demonstrate this to the Wikipedia community, and get consensus. Until then, please do not add the following websites (or any other sites that link to them):

Thank you, and have an educational day. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 17:31, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

At http://www.wzmc.edu.cn/en/, the offical site, an email "wzmc.net" is given. No mention of your similar "wzmu.net". If your site is the "offical partner", then why not just ask the university to add your website to their official website? That would clear all this up, right? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:11, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A cup of tea for you!

For your patience and assumption of good faith while dealing with 213.107.74.132. Too bad it was for naught, but your efforts were impressive nonetheless. Huon (talk) 23:44, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Blip! Fizzzzzz." (Anna drops half a valium into the tea.) "Schluuuurrrpppp...... Aahhhhhhhhhhh." Thank you. It takes an awful lot to exhaust my patience, but that fella's edits did the trick. I'm still kicking myself for not checking Urinary bladder and Bus earlier. His edits were a real bone in my throat while putting List of buses together. Well, unless a smelly sock pops up, we can have six months of peace before he reemerges, does the exact same thing, and gets indeffed. Thanks again for the tea. :) Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:14, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like the user is interested in cars and buses. I wonder if there is a way to get him to work on one article in his user space, either new or a cleanup job, and focus on that subject for a week or two to show his good faith. Viriditas (talk) 09:15, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You know me. I have patience and trust. The user is a serial troll and vandal. At least 4 blocks at wikipedia, 2 at simple wikipedia, and who knows what else. I don't believe a word he says. I think he's stringing us along in hopes of continuing his ways. See the bottom of his talk. There are also competency issues. I would like to post at ANI for a WMF ban, if that's possible. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:42, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. You'll make a good admin! :) Viriditas (talk) 09:47, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think ANI has any sway over the rest of the projects. Not sure if we can do a WMF ban - perhaps you'd need to check at meta? Oh, and I agree with Viriditas ;) WormTT · (talk) 09:59, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your articles

Why is the article deleted?I wrote it myself.I'm so sad ... — Preceding unsigned comment added by NNU-01-05100118 (talkcontribs) 16:31, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be sad.
The Introduction of The Vampire Diaries may be deleted because it should be a section within The Vampire Diaries.
A TV play may be deleted because it is about The Vampire Diaries. The title of your article is not really the right title.
If you have more questions, please ask. Don't worry. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 16:39, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mao Ran

The article on the chinese student/executed drug trafficker Mao Ran has already been deleted for lack of notability. I think that it is quite possible that she is notable if one takes into account chinese language coverage which I doubt the deleting admin did. If you can show that her case has figured prominently in Chinese language media then we can reinstate the article. I am unable to do this myself for linguistic reasons ;) .·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 17:30, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ooh. I'm afraid I never touch any sort of controversial China-related topic. Sorry I can't help there. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 17:34, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I guess that makes a lot of sense. ·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 17:39, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It was one of the student articles. I found this source. Agathoclea (talk) 05:34, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I'm just a student from Nanjing Normal University.Thank you so much for your help. And,as you see,I just create something concerning the official forum of our school. However, now I even don't know if my writing has been passed. So,could you tell me how can I know if my text is passed.

ps:I'm very curious about that how could you find me on the Internet, for that there are so much more users here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NNU-1-17100211 (talkcontribs) 00:30, 19 September 2011 (UTC) NNU-1-17100211 (talk) 00:35, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello my friend. You are very welcome here.
Why articles get deleted
If your article is deleted, probably it is because it was not about something well known.
Always ask yourself this question:
"When I search with Google, or Tom, or Baidu, or Sina, can I find (English or Chinese) lots and lots of information about it?"
If the answer is yes, then it's probably okay. If no, then probably the article will be deleted.
How I found you
I watch lots of users pages to see if I can help. You can too. Click watch at the top of a page. Then, click my watchlist at the top of the page. It will show you a list of pages you watch, and what is happening there. (You can watch your friend's pages, and watch articles you are working on too. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:09, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear friend

Hello,Anna,I am a student from Nanjing Normal University.Thank you for your advice.I want to know how can I get the standard form about my

first article.I'm really confused about.Can I copy from other's? — Preceding unsigned comment added by NNU-2-05100130 (talkcontribs) 00:54, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are very welcome, my friend.
You can use the article wizard standard form: Wikipedia:Article wizard
or
You can find another article, click edit, and copy it and paste it into your space. Then you can change the information how you like.
(Don't forget to search Wikipedia to be sure the article you want to make is not already here.) If you have any more questions, please ask. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:09, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

hello,Anna. Thank you for your constructive suggestions. I'm still unfamiliar with this system, but with your help, things get better. Is there a stated pattern of a qualified Wikipedia article? I wonder why my article is always incomplete? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nnu-12-22100554 (talkcontribs) 01:35, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article you are making here: User:Nnu-12-22100554/Faculty of Teachers' Education is good. Maybe it should be a section in the article Nanjing Normal University, and not an article by itself. What do you think? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:58, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear anna, you sent a messages to me just now,but as you know I'm a green hand and I even don't know how to reply to you just under your words. So I have to write this. What I wanna say is that my topic "the YangFan Forum" is well-known enough from my point of view. Also,as you mentioned, when I search with Baidu,I could find lots of information about it. I try to write something about that ,you know ,"explain why you believe the page should not be deleted" and I finished it just now. In reality,I'm a little discouraged. But,the only thing I can do is to wait. NNU-1-17100211 (talk) 01:41, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't be discouraged. You are doing fine. Writing to me here like this, is very good.
The best idea is to find lots and lots of websites that talk about the forum. Add them like this to your article:
<ref>http://www.example.com</ref>
Write to me again when you finish that, and I will see if it's okay. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:50, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if you can see this,I mean the words here, but I would like to sent this to you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:NNU-1-17100211/YangFan_Forum Thank you so much for checking it. NNU-1-17100211 (talk) 03:17, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

NNU students

Hello, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your friendly help to my students with their articles. I do my best to explain in our weekly classes, but your expertise far surpasses my own. We will all continue to work on the issues with their articles. If you would like to communicate with me on ways and techniques to improve this project, please be in touch. Njnu-ban-xueshenghao (talk) 01:51, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, I now see the school and university portal! Thanks, it's very useful, and I wish I had followed its guidelines from the beginning. Thanks and sorry, Njnu-ban-xueshenghao (talk) 01:59, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No need to be sorry. You are doing a very good job! I am always here to help. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:13, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Anna, I was referring to Wikipedia:SUP. Perhaps "portal" was not the right word. I would love to create a page to coordinate efforts to improve our articles. I am not entirely sure where the appropriate space would be. Can you suggest a place where this project would fit? At SUP? On my userpage? Your suggestion would be much appreciated. Njnu-ban-xueshenghao (talk) 03:10, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Or can we expand on what bobrayner has kindly begun? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Bobrayner/NNU Njnu-ban-xueshenghao (talk) 03:15, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Anna, Is there a way to look at deleted articles so we can analyze in class why a given article did not meet standards? I think it will help students learn to correct their errors if we can examine together what the shortcomings were. Sorry to bombard you with queries! Njnu-ban-xueshenghao (talk) 03:18, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Bobrayner/NNU information has mostly been moved to the project page at Wikipedia:WikiProject China/NNU Class Project. We are working on connecting students and their creations somehow.
I am looking into the deleted article request. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:12, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Writing

I have add some references as you metioned to my writing. And I write something just under our lastest talk.I'm no sure if you can see those words. So I write this to make sure if you can get my message. The website is here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:NNU-1-17100211/YangFan_Forum Just now,I tried to create the forum again, but failed again... In order to finish the work that my teacher gave me,maybe I should change my topic temporarily... — Preceding unsigned comment added by NNU-1-17100211 (talkcontribs) 04:07, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Summer and welcome!
We are friends instantly!! :) :) I think you are a good student. Now you know, Wikipedia is just like Baidu Baike. The same thing. So what should you write about? No problem: There are lots of China-related article listed here: Wikipedia:WikiProject China/Requested articles. You can choose one!
