Re: GoodSearch opinion

Thank you for the information. Understand the comments and agree with the suggestion. Uptodateinfo

I have once again put the {{Hangon}} Template on the article, but I'm quite unsure why this article would be moved to deletion. It doesn't seem to have vandalized the copyrighted content, and also doesn't seem to have plagiarized someone's work. I can see what you are talking about, but I think that this article shouldn't be deleted. Otherwise, I will improve this article to Wikipedia's standard. But thanks for your notice.

Please contact me if you have any concerns.

Besides I'm only a Wikipedian for less than 6 months so I'm quite inexperienced. However the quality and standard of my articles will improve. Challisrussia (talk)

Village with offensive name

Just looked at your referral for Kotak, a village with an allegedly offensive name. The offensive word would be kotok (which is offensive slang for penis in at least Kyrgyz. However, Kotak should be ok -- it also appears on google maps for roughly the same location shown in the article -- Google Map of Kotak. Thanks for checking up on it, though! ~~

Help

Thank you for your input on the dispute resolution noticeboards (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard&diff=prev&oldid=472400681#Legio_IX_Hispana.) I really don't understand how all this works, but it seems like all the neutral editors agreed with what I was saying, yet the discussion was closed without it being resolved. How do we prevent cliques on a mission from twisting and ignoring the rules? One of the people involved on the "other side" is an administrator with a history of using his authority involving edits on this topic. 99.101.160.126 (talk) 22:08, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, this was also posted to my talk page. in almost the exact same content. I'm inclined to dismiss the request (which long ceaced being a content dispute). Your thought TM? Hasteur (talk) 22:25, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @99: Please see my closing comments here for my recommendations at the time I closed the dispute. I truly don't mean this to be criticism, but things generally keep moving here at Wikipedia even if they sometimes move in itsy, bitsy, tiny steps over a sometimes-excruciating period. You already are suffering from some degree of prejudice because you're editing from an IP address (it's not supposed to be that way, but I know from experience that there are a lot of experienced users who don't give as much weight to IP edits as they do to signed-in edits); you don't improve your credibility by then not editing for 25 days in the middle of a discussion. In that light and in this particular case, my real recommendation would be to drop the stick and back slowly away from the horse carcass and move on to working on something else with a better likelihood of success. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 22:30, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
One last point. The clique you refer to could also be called consensus. If editors who have been working with and on the project for a while all express the same viewpoint (and you get the same response) it could just be your viewpoint that is not in line with (even if it's silent) consensus. Dispute resolution

Hey TransporterMan. A party in a dispute that you were trying to resolve at Talk:Boom! Studios has requested for full-protection because the dispute hasn't been resolved yet. I'm just leaving a passing note here for you to take a look at the dispute again and try to work with the parties. Regards, Whenaxis talk · contribs | DR goes to Wikimania! 01:22, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Any assistance you could provide in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Njkaters continues to make edits removing Andrew Cosby from the page, with no explanation, despite having been provide with numerous sources contradicting his claims. I have tried to comply with Wikipedia's suggestions, used talk pages, etc. But no response. I don't want to edit war, but this is vandalism and an obvious abuse of Wikipedia in pursuit of some agenda against Mr. Cosby. Truthsayer2012 (talk) 18:19, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Maple Syrup Dispute Resolution

I was rectifying a multiple account issue where I had thought that a ban had expired, but my accounts are back in good standing. Sorry about the confusion as it involved being re-banned whilst appealing to arbitration who found in my favor. How would you like to proceed with the resolution of the matter I was previously dealing with? BaSH PR0MPT (talk) 22:59, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you'd like to join back in the discussion at the article talk page, that would be fine, but I think that the matter has either been resolved or has moved on to a different nuance of the dispute (and it's absolutely been resolved insofar as the DRN is concerned). Each of us who do DR is different: I tend to limit my efforts to specifically what has been requested and try not to let it bleed over into other areas of dispute between the parties or into follow-up DR, but others do. It's your call, but if you want to be one of the ones who try to — for lack of a better term — shepherd a dispute, let me suggest that the greatest part of our ability to resolve disputes comes from our neutrality. The more and longer we get wrapped up in a dispute, particularly by joining in at the article talk page, the more that our neutrality fades, in appearance or in fact, and the more we become just another participant in the dispute with the risk that instead of ending the dispute we prolong it. I'm not saying you or others shouldn't attempt it, but I think that if you do, you have to be very careful not to do more harm than good. Best regards, glad you got to come back, and good DR'ing, TransporterMan (TALK) | DR goes to Wikimania! 14:51, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. Thanks for the heads up. And I understand what you mean entirely, I'm not keen on shepherding. Resolutions are clearer the further away from them you stand. And thanks, glad to be back. <3 BaSH PR0MPT (talk) 20:50, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Keep an eye out

Hey there - not that you aren't already, but you might want to keep an eye on this discussion and perhaps comment. I really don't know enough about the problem to jump in on this one, but it doesn't look like these editors are going to be able to hash this one out on their own - and it's starting to look nasty (accusations, bad faith calls). You might want to jump in here before things get out of hand. Thanks. Sleddog116 (talk) 02:35, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't seem to be getting too ripe from what I just read? Are your concerns with the comments on the DiRes notice board itself, or are there other places people are having a bit of a wobbly? BaSH PR0MPT (talk) 02:55, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

U-8047 TRUST

Dear TransporterMan, The reporting of an arest in the UK falls under a complicated legal system, reporting should be contemperainious,(published at the time of the incident)they should also be ballanced and unbiased. This court cace is still ongoing and reporting risrictions aply. From legal advice I have been given, it is liabelus under british law to mention the arest at such a late time after the event, plus you are now thretening to remove the little ballence I have tried to add to the statment. Unless you remove the section, which is clearly in breach of the british law of subjudicy, I will have no alternitive other than to persue a libel by litigation cace against you and wickapediaUboater (talk) 15:48, 7 March 2012 (UTC). Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.

Well, this is strange

Hmm, maybe Corinna Caudill isn't a Silar sock [1] - that does suggest that there's some email group or something, whatever this TLP is. And I have no idea why I'm being blamed for the title of the Repatriation of Ukrainians from Poland to the Soviet Union article [2] since I've never edited the article. Since I noticed it though, yes I am tempted to move it back given that there was no discussion to the move. On the other hand, if it was up for an RM I might support such a title change.VolunteerMarek 23:18, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I think this user somehow came to believe that because both you and I reverted her, we must be the same person, hence she's blaming me for the repatriations stuff. It also looks more like Silar or some of the IPs involved simply follow this "The Lemko Project" thing which is what can maybe account for the shared interests.VolunteerMarek 23:58, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re Silar, yeah I agree that the IP edit is almost certainly him and I've already filed an SPI for block evasion on that.
