Schiller earned his bachelor's degree from The Citadel and is a member of their Athletic Hall of Fame. He earned his master's degree and doctorate from the University of Michigan, and holds honorary doctorates from The Citadel ^[9], Northern Michigan University, and the US Sports Academy.^[10] Schiller and his wife Marcia reside in New York City .
