Can KH13 be used?
I'm sorry if this has been asked previously, but I was just wondering if KH13.com could be used for RS transcriptions? I know it is a fan site/forum, but they have two transcriptions of interviews done by Tai Yasue for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix at E3. Here and Here. The first is in Japanese, so I was wondering if I could cite it as |publiser=Dengeki Online via KH13
The Square Enix Presents video has not been published by Square Enix themselves yet, but I would also use the same code for that once it has. Thanks for the help. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:06, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
you can site dangeki online. Lucia Black (talk) 18:03, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'll use that, and then the actual Square Enix Presents if it gets posted by Square Enix. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:10, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
Leaflet For Wikiproject Square Enix At Wikimania 2014
Hi all,
My name is Adi Khajuria and I am helping out with Wikimania 2014 in London.
One of our initiatives is to create leaflets to increase the discoverability of various wikimedia projects, and showcase the breadth of activity within wikimedia. Any kind of project can have a physical paper leaflet designed - for free - as a tool to help recruit new contributors. These leaflets will be printed at Wikimania 2014, and the designs can be re-used in the future at other events and locations.
This is particularly aimed at highlighting less discoverable but successful projects, e.g:
• Active Wikiprojects: Wikiproject Medicine, WikiProject Video Games, Wikiproject Film
• Tech projects/Tools, which may be looking for either users or developers.
• Less known major projects: Wikinews, Wikidata, Wikivoyage, etc.
• Wiki Loves Parliaments, Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves ____
• Wikimedia thematic organisations, Wikiwomen’s Collaborative, The Signpost
For more information or to sign up for one for your project, go to:

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
Hi, everyone. I'm thinking about taking Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII to FA status. If anyone wants to help me, please do so. Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 18:33, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
- I've done a little more work on it, added stuff about different versions and merchandise. Most of the other featured articles appear to have something like that. --ProtoDrake (talk) 20:50, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
Final Fantasy XIII Featured Topic Review
Final Fantasy XIII and its related articles are currently up for FTC. It already has one support. Further input is needed. Thank you. --ProtoDrake (talk) 12:17, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

Featured Topics!
Hey people! User:Judgesurreal777 here, sorry I have been less active (and I'm so sorry about the GA nominations I left, I didn't take them down because I kept promising myself I would finish them and then User:PresN saved the day for most of them. I can't give him and User:ProtoDrake and others enough Barnstars for their work over the last year!). I wanted to suggest that we work together to get Final Fantasy XIV to GA status as it would revive our Featured Topic, and that would be awesome since it would link to the soon to be approved Good Topic of Final Fantasy XIII!! (Everyone PLEASE go review to nomination, it needs more to have a final decision! :) ). Years ago, we would tag team articles to get them to Featured Article Status, and although most of you are now champions of FA on your own, it would be fun to work together on the same article again as we did way back in the old days of the 2000's. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 15:39, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
- I'll be more than happy to help, but I have my own little crusade. Drakengard being relatively near to getting FA status, and getting the other articles related to the Drakengard series up to GA or FA/FL, then possibly creating a GT out of what was last year a group of poorly-referenced, poorly-written, barely stub-class articles. Heck, I even created three of the currently existing ones. And to think I've never played one of them. Oh, by the way, I would be really grateful if you would pop over and have a look at the Drakengard FA nomination to contribute your opinions, suggestions and suchlike, but please remember to give a definite yes or no. --ProtoDrake (talk) 15:48, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not so confident with FA yet, but i've been getting closer. i'll see what i can do. Lucia Black (talk) 15:51, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
Now with 100% more article. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 13:25, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
Famitsu Weekly issue 1302
I need help. I'm looking for details from the review for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII for said article. The only place I've found translated information from it is on a fansite, who got it from an unofficial translation from a tumblr blog. Could anyone provide me with the page number of the review and any information concerning what the reviewers said from the issue stated in the section title. --ProtoDrake (talk) 16:32, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
Rinoa Heartilly question
I've had a look at this article, and am not entirely convinced that there's enough substance to justify its split from the main Characters article for VIII. I had a look round to try and provide references for the section on the character's creation, but there was very little, and some of the information there didn't seem to exist in any form. My suspicion meter is flashing faintly. Opinions? --ProtoDrake (talk) 12:26, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
- I've been quite critical of some of the video game character article spin-outs...but that one does have quite a bit of reception going for it. Relationships/romance was a big part of the game, so commentary in regards to her role of it strikes me as noteworthy commentary. I haven't looked at it too deeply, but at first glance, it seems better than most attempts. (Opposed to, lets say, all of those "Female character x was ranked #3 best babe by website y because she's super hawt" type commentary so many articles attempt to hinge on.)
- I do object to a rando cosplayer being the only image in the article, but I suppose that's another issue altogether... Sergecross73 msg me 02:53, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
- I agree, the article should have an in-game or official piece of artwork for character identification.--67.68.162.111 (talk) 20:17, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! XIII-related reviews update
Two articles relating to the XIII series require input. The first is the article for central character Lightning, which is currently undergoing featured article review. I am sincerely hoping that it won't go the same direction as the Squall Leonhard nomination, instead being able to join the other... six featured character articles. The other is Music of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, which recently passed GA review and is now nominated for adding to both the Music of the Final Fantasy series and Final Fantasy XIII GTs. Comments and opinions are requested, needed and greatly appreciated. --ProtoDrake (talk) 15:51, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
WP:VG comments subpages cleanup
Hi, there is currently a discussion taking place at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games#VG comments subpages regarding whether it would be acceptable to permanently shift all comments subpages associated with WP:VG articles into talk. This shift would follow the recommended approach given at WP:DCS. The WikiProject Square Enix articles that would be affected by this action are these:
If you have objections related specifically to WikiProject Square Enix's use of these subpages, please make this clear at the discussion so that other unrelated talk pages can be cleaned up where appropriate. Thank you. -Thibbs (talk) 15:52, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
- I have no problem with this; I didn't even realize these pages existed. --PresN 17:34, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
Cover arts of Final Fantasy PlayStation 1, 2, and 3 games
Ever since the original Japanese release of Final Fantasy (1987), subsequent games have use both English and Japanese titles, like FF7 and FF10. Even though there is the Project's guideline, I don't think it as totally absolute. Wouldn't changing to Japanese cover arts on PlayStation games be cooler for English readers? --George Ho (talk) 02:24, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- The purpose of the infobox image is to serve as a visual identifier for the subject. For video game covers, that means that on the English wikipedia, we use the English-language cover that readers would be likely to see, rather than the "coolest". I'm also not sure why you think that the Japanese covers would be "cooler" for English readers? --PresN 03:00, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- All right, Japanese cover arts not only are cool. Japanese cover arts of Final Fantasy also have English titles. They help balance the article because I don't have to choose either North American editions or European editions, which also use Japanese designs (without Japanese titles). I mean, Final Fantasy has been widely released forever. Should I keep the North American edition of Final Fantasy VII or replace it with the PAL European/Australian edition? The European/Australian edition does not have Cloud standing in front of the Shinra building; neither do Japanese ones. If a Japanese edition has an English title, I guess we can use it? Otherwise, I must use either American or European edition, which do not feel... Japanese to me. --George Ho (talk) 05:02, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
If we can't use Japanese cover arts, shall we use North American (NTSC) or European/Australian (PAL) editions? PAL ones are almost closer to the original Japanese cover arts minus Japanese titles. --George Ho (talk) 06:58, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
- Per WP:STOPCHANGINGIT, we should use whatever covers are already there. General consensus for video games articles is that discussions about changing the cover images from one region to another are usually tedious, interminable things that add very little benefit. As long as they are in English, it really doesn't matter. --PresN 07:36, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
- In other words, how Sony and Squaresoft marketed Americans, Canadians, Brits, Aussies and Europeans separately won't matter? --George Ho (talk) 08:41, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
- No more than that every other game has a different cover for EU vs NA, but we still pick just one and move on. --PresN 15:12, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

FF VII articles push
I've been looking at the articles related to Final Fantasy VII, and leaving aside whether or not the said article will ever be an FA again, there are only three articles that needs improvement and nominating before the entire VII series will be at GA level and could be taken to GT nomination. They are Advent Children (the toughest one, it seems to me), Before Crisis (admittedly a little tricky given it's never been outside Japan) and the main Characters of article (the easiest, barring a few Manual of Style tweaks, reference stuff and updating). I'm sort of willing to help on them, but I would also like others to be helping. I probably won't be able to help much on Advent Children, as films aren't in my line. But I could see what I can dig up about Before Crisis. So, what do you say? Let's give it a shot! --ProtoDrake (talk) 20:20, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
- Update: Forgot one; Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. That needs work too. --ProtoDrake (talk) 14:58, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake: I'm mainly still working (slowly) on the Mana series articles, but I do want to get in on this. I'll focus on Advent Children if you'll take the characters article, and we can meet in the middle on Before Crisis. Film articles aren't my thing either, but it's an interesting challenge, while character articles are really not my thing. --PresN 01:53, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- @PresN:, I'll happily take on the character article. After some of the other articles I've tackled recently, it should be relatively easy. --ProtoDrake (talk) 10:53, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Tintor2 and Bertaut: In June 2012, it looks like you two were handling the GAR for Advent Children, though it eventually still was delisted. Do either of you want to come back to the article for a new push to get it re-GAd? --PresN 01:56, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- @PresN, Tintor2, and Bertaut:, UPDATE: I've done major rewrites to both Compilation and the characters article, and am preparing another rewrite for Before Crisis. The first of these articles I'm planning to take to GA is Compilation. If anyone wants to give either of these articles a lookover, feel free. I am by no means the only person interested in this article push. --ProtoDrake (talk) 22:44, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hey guys. For some reason I wasn't pinged on 3 December, so I've only just heard about this now. My involvement with the GAR for Advent Children was purely coincidental. I was doing some work on Final Fantasy VII pages across the board and I just so happened to arrive at Advent Children just prior to the GAR. I don't really have the time to get involved in another push at the moment, but I'll certainly have a read of the pages you've worked on. At a very quick glance, the work you've done on Compilation is excellent. One thing to (perhaps) consider is this. There used to be an article on Gaia (Final Fantasy VII), which had a lot of info in it. I did some work tidying it up and deleting a lot of superfluous details. The page was eventually deleted and changed to a redirect to Compilation, but there might be some info there worth adding to the Compilation page. I don't know for certain, just an idea. I'll get back to you when I have a proper read of Compilation. Bertaut (talk) 23:00, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Codename Lisa: looks like I forgot to ping someone to the discussion, and since Lisa reverted my edits on the Advent Children page for mucking things up I assume they're still active there. --PresN 18:32, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi. I still have the page on my watch list but have decided to take fan stuff completely easy. There are only a couple of things that I do care about:
- Citations: Incorrect use of
|publisher=
and|website=
/|work=
is not tolerated. Example: GameSpot is a work/website. Its publisher is CBS Interactive. Destructoid is the website/work; its publisher is ModernMethod. - Citations style: Article must consistently use either {{cite news}} or {{cite web}} for web citations; a mixture of both is not acceptable. Since 2014, these two accept virtually the same input and their output is almost the same but not completely. This is a point that is previously brought up by the former administrator Nikkimaria in two FAN discussions that I participated.
- Prose quality: FA is notorious for not accepting redundancies like repeatedly attributing the same thing to the "game" in the same paragraph successively. As I once had to prove with ample sourcing, "Weapon" (first caps) is correct; "WEAPON" is wrong.
- Blatant plot mistakes: I said I'd be generous about the plot, but that doesn't mean I'd accept mistakes like saying Marlene was a boy. The generosity extends to using "Mako" and "Lifestream" interchangeably once, referring to "Aerith" as "Cloud's girlfriend" (Riot alert!) or calling the film either science fiction or science fantasy.

@ProtoDrake: Alright, took me a while, but I'm satisfied that Advent Children is up to B-class now, so that's all four up to there. Still work to do before I'd be comfortable nominating it for GA again, but it's getting there. --PresN 22:35, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- @PresN:, understood. Good progress. I'm feeling a little indecisive as to whether to make the GA push for Compilation or Before Crisis. Also, I think we need to take a look over the other VII articles to make sure they stay as GAs. --ProtoDrake (talk) 22:42, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Minor query
Tintor2, PresN, Bertaut, Codename Lisa, I'm in a spot of bother. The present logo image for the Compilation article has an opaque background that I don't have the ability to change and update to a white one. Can someone please help here? --ProtoDrake (talk) 19:09, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi. Honestly, I am dropping from sleeplessness. I have a PNG version of the meteor logo. Let's see what can be done. I just hope this compilation logo isn't made up by Wikia fans. Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 20:03, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- Don't worry, it isn't fanart. I've seen it in official trailers and on websites of games related to the Compilation (Here's an example). The one mentioned was the only clean version I could find. I think it's probably a scan from one of the guide books, given the hue of the background. I evne found out that there was an official Compilation website, but it's dead now and unarchived in its active state. --ProtoDrake (talk) 20:48, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake: I am terribly sorry. I did all I could and the result is straight damned aweful. If only there was one with transparent background over the Internet. Of course, there is also one with a cloudy night sky background. Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 16:30, 11 January 2015 (UTC)

The Spirits Within at FAC
I successfully nominated Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within for GA status in 2010, and have now nominated it for featured status.
