Southern Charm is an American reality television series that premiered March 3, 2014, on Bravo.[1][2] The series chronicles the personal and professional lives of seven socialites who reside in Charleston, South Carolina. The show focuses on the southern culture and political history of the area, and has featured local historical places like the Mikell House.[3]

On July 14, 2014, Southern Charm was renewed for a second season,[4] which premiered on March 16, 2015. Cast member Jenna King did not return from the first season, and was replaced with Landon Clements for the second season.[5] The third season will premiere on April 4, 2016.

Cast members

Thomas Ravenel

Thomas Ravenel is the son of politician Arthur Ravenel, Jr. b.1927 and Louise (née Rodgers b.1929). His parents are divorced, and he has three sisters and two brothers. The Ravenel family has a long history of prominence in South Carolina. He was elected to the office of state treasurer for South Carolina.[6] He resigned six months after his election after a federal indictment on cocaine charges and served 10 months in a federal prison.[6] Ravenel graduated from The Citadel in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He later attended University of South Carolina for a Masters in Business Administration where he specialized in finance and real estate. He was married to Mary Ryan for two years and they divorced in 1998. He has two children, a girl and a boy, with his girlfriend Kathryn Dennis. He owns the historical Brookland Plantation.

Whitney Sudler-Smith

Whitney Sudler-Smith was born in Washington D.C. and graduated from George Washington University. He is a musician, businessman, filmmaker, and producer. The only child of Patricia Altschul, who was the fourth wife of Arthur Altschul. He is a Charleston socialite and art collector who also appears in the show.

Cameran Eubanks

Eubanks was raised in Anderson/Belton, South Carolina and graduated from T. L. Hanna High School. She was a cast member of The Real World: San Diego in 2004.[7] After holding a career in the cosmetic industry for ten years, she is now a licensed real estate agent in Charleston. In 2014, she married Jason Wimberly, a doctor. Her parents, Robert and Bonnie (née Yon) Eubanks, are divorced. She has one sister, Cayce Eubanks.[8][9]

Shep Rose

William Shepard Rose III, known as Shep Rose, is a single bachelor and businessman who grew up in a wealthy family from Sea Pines, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He attended Hilton Head Preparatory School until 9th grade when he was sent to boarding school at Episcopal High School. His uncle is B. Boykin Rose, a Charleston community leader, and former director of public safety for the state of South Carolina. The family owns land in the historical area of Boykin, South Carolina.[8][10][11] He attended the University of Georgia and the Vanderbilt University School of Management.

Craig Conover

Craig Conover II is a single bachelor. He graduated from Indian River High School and grew up in Cripple Creek, Dagsboro, Delaware.[7] He recently graduated from the Charleston School of Law.[8] He previously graduated with a bachelor's degree in business, and worked as a law clerk to a personal injury firm.

Kathryn Dennis

Kathryn Calhoun Dennis grew up on Lewisfield Plantation in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. She is the daughter of Allison (née Calhoun) and Luke Dennis, both descendants from wealthy families that governed South Carolina since its early years.[8] She is the granddaughter of former state senator Rembert Dennis and a descendant of John C. Calhoun, Vice President of the United States. She graduated from Berkeley High School and studied political science and mass communications at the University of South Carolina. She followed her family's political history by completing an internship with the South Carolina Lieutenant Governor. On March 24, 2014 she gave birth to her daughter, Kensington Calhoun Ravenel,[12] with her boyfriend and castmate Thomas Ravenel and in November 2015 gave birth to their son, St. Julien Rembert Ravenel.[13]

Landon Clements

Clements was born in St. Simons, Georgia. She studied at the College of Charleston majoring in art and historic preservation. Clements is divorced from James Maby, and is the former step-mother of his daughter with actress Stacey Dash, Lola Maby. She works as an interior designer and recently moved back to South Carolina from Los Angeles to restart her life and be near her two sisters, Powell and Cameron. When she was living in Los Angeles she appeared briefly on MTV's The Hills.[8]
