Information to be added or removed: Replace first three sentences (above History) to the following: Criteo is an advertising technology company that enables [[Display advertising|online display advertisements]]. The company was founded and is headquartered in Paris, France, and serves clients across 95 countries in the Americas, EMEA and APAC.

Add this to the end of the History section: In 2019, [[Megan Clarken]] is appointed CEO.

Explanation of issue: The company has services beyond retargeting, as reported in their Q3 2020 earnings call. Per the call transcript: "New solutions grew 43% in Q3, representing 19% of our total business on a revenue ex-TAC basis. This is largely driven by Retail Media, which sees continued strong adoption with brands and retailers and grew close to 60%, driven by strong demand from CPG and reflecting its growing strategic value for brands."

The current History section makes no mention of the new CEO, who joined in 2019.

Edit request

3birds3 (talk) 17:48, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, 3birds3, and thank you for your suggestions. I am declining this edit request because it has a strong slant in favor of Criteo; in other words, your proposed text is too promotional and does not adhere to Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising, marketing or public relations, but the purpose of your proposed text is clearly to win over prospective customers and investors. As such, it cannot be added to the article unless it is substantially rewritten. The most obvious red flags are tactics that are frequently used in press releases, but are not appropriate for an encyclopedia. These promotional terms include phrases such as "industry-leading" and "market expertise," and I am not a fan of using industry awards to promote Criteo's image either. Just as importantly, watch out for sentences that sound vaguely positive, but don't actually tell the reader anything specific. They should be condensed and written more tersely. Because this draft is too promotional, I cannot approve incorporating it into the article. Altamel (talk) 19:46, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
