Welcome to my talk page. I am a Nigerian American/Yoruba American currently residing in NYC and I am very interested in history, specifically African history. After discovering I am a descendant of a King of Akure I became very interested in ancestry in tracing my lineage, I realized there is very limited information on African leaders because of the lack of many written records. Since many of the information I receive is oral information from my maternal relatives in the village of Ilara-Mokin, I have been embarking on finding more research and sharing it to Wikipedia.
On my paternal lineage, who have a little more documentation on family history, I have found myself related with famous and inspiring Nigerian celebrities, historians, and politicians including King Sunny Adé, Olu Falae, Moshood Abiola, Segun Odegbami, Amos Tutuola, and May7ven.
In order to get in touch with more of my "Yoruba roots," I have also been reading old literature written by Daniel O. Fagunwa and Joseph Odunjo. I look forward to talking to anyone who has these similar interests or information of the Royal family of Bini and Akure.
I'm also fluent in Yoruba, English, and I am currently learning Spanish
Any comments and concerned are free to be written here, I am open to any suggestions or improvements. Please however, be respectful. The pages I have written include...
Hope to write more!!!

Ilara-Mokin
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Ilara-Mokin. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. You cannot just add a vague mention of a website in your edit summary, the citations must be properly formatted (see Help:Referencing for beginners) including full details, not just the webite URL, and put in the correct place in the text beside what that reference is supporting. The footnotes and unsourced section templates can only be removed when these references are correctly inserted, - Arjayay (talk) 10:26, 29 November 2018 (UTC) Sorry, I didn't mean to. Disambiguation link notification for August 15
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gris-gris (talisman), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Yoruba (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Missvain (talk) 19:46, 5 December 2019 (UTC)Gbagura Egba moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Gbagura Egba, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. — Sagotreespirit (talk) 21:31, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
Yes, thank you I will add more citations, that was what I was planning to do.
Ilara-Mokin - again
Hello. Your recent edit to Ilara-Mokin appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 12:07, 24 December 2019 (UTC)

DGG ( talk ) 03:07, 28 March 2020 (UTC)Hello, Oniwe...
I am just writing to say hello and to congratulate you on your new page... The information it contains is fascinating, and as a result of it I was actually wondering whether you knew of how the Adeyemi branch of the House of Osupa descended from him.
I'm glad that I now have a fellow traveller... And well done on the page for the Egba Gbaguras, as well.
Here's hoping that you are well.

RE: Odundun I
Hello, Oniwe...
Lo and behold, I think that we're related! This is wonderful news!
Am I correct in assuming that you're an Odundun? If you are, then we are definitely cousins... My great-grandmother was an Adeyemi. That's why I asked about that branch of the Osupas specifically.
It seems as though we have similar interests. I even run a number of social media accounts in which I document African history and genealogy. You might want to check them out:

Are the Adesidas descended from the Ewekas as well?
Hello, Oniwe...
I was just tweaking your page for King Adesida I and I came across the claim that the Adesidas were also descendants of the daughter of Akengbuda of Benin that we Osupas claim as an ancestress. Is it perhaps possible that they're descended from another wife instead, because I actually wasn't aware prior to that that any of the Ojijigoguns were of the Bini princess' line?
O.ominirabluejack (talk) 20:46, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
Hello. Hope all is well. While thinking about this, like Odundun, Oba Adesida would be assumed to be a descendant of the Ewekas as well. His father, Oba Ojijigogun, was the brother of Oba Osupa, however I now realize that it does not state if they are half brothers or from the same mother, because Oba Osupa is a descendant through his mother. I will remove this until I find more research. Thank you!!! Oniwe (talk) 21:55, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
You are most welcome, brother. Here's hoping that you're keeping safe out there. 😊

Kiriji War
Hi,Thank you for creating this article , it's good to finally find an editor who is engrossed with the events that has shaped the yoruba people. It is unfortunate that many of these events were not documented. I made a change in the infobox from Royal Nigeria Company to Royal Niger Company as the name Nigeria only came to life in 1914. Also i noticed you left a message on O.ominirabluejack user page, i believe it was not in your intention but talk pages are for discussions, you should consider moving the message to their talkpage. Moreso, i am not sure what your plans are but i have been struggling to create Ogun Okuta (Stone War) in Akure, but i couldn't find any reliable source for citation, tales my grandfather told me will not be accepted on wikipedia. Lol. I would love for us to work together on that article if you don't mind.--Brain7days (talk) 23:50, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Isaac Delano
I’d like to thank you for your write up on Isaac Delano. He’s my great grandfather. It’ll be great if I can connect with you. I had been trying to write up on him. I think you did a better job than I’d have done :-). Sode786 (talk) 13:39, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
Thank you very much, I have read many of Chief Delano's books and I really enjoyed them so I made sure to do a lot of research. I look forward to connecting with you! Oniwe (talk) 21:03, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

You are still adding unsourced material despite warnings and comments above
The latest being the edit I reverted at Yoruba religion. Please stop, this is strictly against policy, especially when you also make a major change in the meaning of texts. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 15:09, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
I apologize for my changes but I also don't understand what change I made that is so drastic, but I will add sources to my edits. Is it still fine for me to edit the page if I have the appropriate links? Oniwe (talk) 15:20, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
