Aly Goni (born 25 February 1991) is an Indian actor and model working in the Hindi television industry. He is known for portraying Raj Kapoor in Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan and Romi Bhalla in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.[2][3]

He has participated in reality shows like MTV Splitsvilla 5, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9, Box Cricket League, Nach Baliye 9 and Bigg Boss 14.

Early life

Aly Goni was born on 25 February 1991 to a Muslim family in Bhaderwah, Jammu & Kashmir.[4] He is the son of Amjad Goni and Ruby Goni. He has a sister named Ilham Goni.[5]

Career

In 2012, Aly started his career by participating in the reality show MTV Splitsvilla 5.[6] In 2013, he made his acting debut with Star Plus's show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein where he played Romi Bhalla until it's end in 2019.[7]

In 2015, he played the main lead in Ekta Kapoor's Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan where he replaced Vibhav Roy[8] and the show went off the air in January 2016.[9] In 2016, he played the role of Kabir Raichand in &TV's Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum.[10] He became presenter for the show Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.[11] He later played the role of Virat in Life OK's Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant.

In 2017, he played Sushant in Dhhai Kilo Prem. In 2018, he acted in show Dil Hi Toh Hai. He also played a negative character of Vyom in Naagin 3 .[12] He made his Music Video debut in 2018 with song "Cheater Mohan" which was sung by Kanika Kapoor.

In 2019, he participated in Colors TV's Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9.[13][14] He also appeared in Colors TV's comedy show Khatra Khatra Khatra.[15] He did a music video named "Tere Jism 2" in June 2019.In July 2019, he participated in Star Plus's dance reality show Nach Baliye 9 [16] and emerged as one of the finalists.

In 2020, he participated in Colors TV's Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi – Made in India.[17] In November 2020, he entered Colors TV's Bigg Boss 14 as a wild-card contestant and became 3rd runner up.[18]

He made his web series debut with ZEE5's Jeet Ki Zid which was released in January 2021.[19] In the same year, he did several music videos like "Tera Suit", "Tu Bhi Sataya Jayega", "2 Phone" and "Jodaa".

Aly was ranked 12th in 2018,[20] 14th in 2019[21] and 3rd in 2020[22] in the Times Of India's 20 Most Desirable Men on Television in India.

He was ranked at 22nd position in the Times of India's 50 Most Desirable Men of 2020.[23]

Personal life

In 2014, Goni was dating Serbian model Nataša Stanković but the couple reportedly broke up and was invited to participate as an ex-couple in Nach Baliye 9.[40]

He started dating Jasmin Bhasin in 2021.[41]
