A90 road
Hi, I've reverted your edits to A90 road, which didn't appear to do what you intended. I'm not sure what you did intend, or I would have tried to fix it. Tim PF (talk) 12:57, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- No, they didn't, did they? I was attempting to add to the infobox the junction with the A972 road, which is where the A90 links with the main coastal road, the A92. But I failed. I was going to go back to it later to figure out where I was going wrong, but if you know a quick fix, that would be appreciated. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 13:03, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- I did wonder, but I had misread the major junctions to be just the two ends. I now realise that it has three intersecting roads chosen almost at random, including one non-primary route. It therefore poses two questions: What level of roads should be added (eg ALL primary routes)? and Would it make more sense for Edinburgh (the South) to be at the bottom? Regarding the latter, I note that Edinburgh is always at the top (apart from the A1). It also doesn't help that there's a gap between the Forth and the Tay. I'll try and add the A972 for you, though. Tim PF (talk) 13:24, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I've added the junctions for the A972, A92 and A96, which may do for north of the Tay. BTW, you had managed to make your original addition after the closing braces for the infobox. The junctions are listed last in the source, but not in the infobox itself, which is probably why I couldn't figure out what you were trying to do, and also perhaps why you had failed. Tim PF (talk) 13:37, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks, that would explain it! I've taken the liberty of adding the M9, which I imagine is notable enough... the A92 can probably be dropped though, as it doesn't physically link with the A90, except where it has been renamed the M90 (?) Catfish Jim & the soapdish 13:47, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- I was thinking of near Stonehaven, actually. Interestingly, both the A92 and A93 have junctions with both the M90 and A90. The A94 almost does so too, and I still cannot understand why they didn't route the A90 via an upgraded A94 from Perth to Forfar. Tim PF (talk) 14:12, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- Slightly embarrassing that I use that junction fairly regularly... I think something along those lines will come eventually, or at least a road built to bypass Dundee. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 14:59, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Interior decorating
Sorry about this belated response to your kind help. I was trying to streamline my userpage. Good grief! If you'll take a look at it (in Explorer x100 anyway), I've been trying to improve asethetically the look of the tiny photo gallery there. I'm trying to keep the color and the black and white photos in rows separate. Trying to keep the upright photos togeher, and the landscape photos together. I think what is there now is best. Also, I am having a hard time figuring out how to put my information into collapseable sections- I had a little success towards the bottom of the page, but hate that watery puke green color. Can you find any other colors instead? I was hoping you could put little collapseable tabs-- sane thing as creating a template for a band or something, I suppose. I don't want to change anything with the little portrait gallery, but maybe your link to my photo list page could, again be in a collapseable thing too. Last thing, now I'm a Veteran Editor II, rather than my prior ranking. If you could help with this, I would once again be obliged! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 13:12, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
- Whoops. Keep thinking you're a mindreader! My userpage is far more than cosmetic. When people revert or question work, they often look at the User pages (maybe to use caution in case I'm some Admin. heavyweight or something). Those "shiny pointless things" are a necessity, and it sucks (plus being a girl doesn't make it any better)! Anyway, basically, I had the photos just where I wanted them. I try to pick themes: the first times three were "landscape" colored photos in two rows, then, ditto with the black and white pics, just as they were. I would like everything else in there to be "collapsable". I apologize for not being specific. I'll fix it -I just wanted to tell you thanks for the other things you've done.--Leahtwosaints (talk) 17:41, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Edit conflict confusion
Hi, just saw your Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Damienn jones prefix:Wikipedia:FAQ
It seems I moved the page to Damienn Jones just before you AfDed it, so the AfD is now on a redirect - and to confuse matters still further, I BLPPRODed the Damienn Jones page before seeing that you'd AfD'd the other one. I'm not sure how best to clean this up, what should we do next? --Physics is all gnomes (talk) 19:24, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
University Historical Presidents articles
Hi there, I see you have also been patrolling and tagging these pages. I am considering nominating all of these pages for speedy deletion. What are your thoughts? Philip.t.day talk 10:01, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed. I may give the original editor a day or so to have the chance to improve the subs. It is possible that they created the series, in preparation for major improvements. The first in the series seems to be slightly more substantial. Philip.t.day talk 10:12, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
User talk:SEMUP and Santa Clara University presidents
Hey CFJ+sd, jumped in and added to what you said, and hope I didn't tread on your toes in any way. I'm suffering severe "AfD Fatigue", and sincerely hoping that this matter does not go that way. Just a little "heads-up".--Shirt58 (talk) 12:22, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
last message
Hi,
thanks for your e-mail. I just saw it. I changed the sentence again but if it is reverted, I'll avoid the edit war. I already put the explanation in the talk page, otherwise I'll just appeal to place a POV tag on the article. Thanks again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dimestore (talk • contribs) 13:29, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
edit war
Hi,
I have not reverted to any more editing. The page has since been blocked since I last sent you the previous e-mail, so I have not edited anything anymore. To say that I have is not factual. I respected your last e-mail and you need but to see the time of my last edit for proof. The original POV sentence is still on the page. I have taken my argument to the talk section and have also requested a POV tag to be added to the article as per your suggestion. Dimestore (talk) 14:19, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- With all due respect, your most recent revert to the article was made twenty minutes after I placed the Edit warring notice on this page. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 14:28, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- Which is why I told you in my reply to you that I had put in the change prior to reading your message. I did not want you to think I was disregarding your message, and that is also why I told you if my edit was reverted back to the original POV sentence, I would take it to the talk page and request a POV tag on the article.Dimestore (talk) 14:41, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Dundee
wow! i didn't expect you to be considering a decision to push for GA status so quickly. that really took me by surprise!
like you say, it is not too far from GA and i agree with that. but i do think there is still much to be done. there is no info on the Dundee Waterfront project (i'm prepared to add this to the article) along with population and employment statistics on demography. the landmarks section (although i have been supposed to get round to doing this) is little more than a couple of sentences. sport is another concern; not many references there. Kilnburn (talk) 11:41, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
good move. i really did want you to put too much pressure on yourself. in the meantime, i plan to start work on the landmarks section. Kilnburn (talk) 08:40, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

I've thrown in some bog standard questions on your RFA
Hi Catfish Jim,
I've added a few bog-standard questions to your RFA, so I just thought I'd let you know about them. :)
Hope this helps,

- Thanks for your response, I've commented on the RFA. The Helpful One 13:52, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- I think your nom will do well since you have over 12,000 edits and 3 years experiance. Good luck. –BuickCenturyDriver 20:30, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- Well, thanks... edit number isn't always a great indicator of RFA success... for example, Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/The Thing That Should Not Be 2. My self-nom was somewhat speculative. I was going to wait for a few more months but eventually took the same approach as I use when I nominate articles for GA... if I can learn from the experience and use that to improve, then it is a positive result. That said, I'm disappointed that SoWhy was able to find so many incorrect CSD taggings. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 23:18, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

- Hi again, SoWhy always impressed me with the detail that he puts into searching for CSD tags that are incorrect, and he's always bound to find at least one, an excellent reviewer - but we all make mistakes, so don't feel disheartened by it! :) The Helpful One 15:46, 28 April 2011 (UTC)

- Hi there, I've seen your RfA and I'm pleased to see an enthusiastic editor potentially receive the tools. I have left a concern under a "neutral" vote and I hope that you can persuade me to support. I am a strong believe of "why not" when it comes to admins, so I don't see that it should be too much of an issue to address my concern. Philip.t.day talk 11:27, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Philip, I've replied and I hope I've allayed your concerns somewhat. I was considering asking some of those admins who regularly close CSD nominations to comment, but I wouldn't feel comfortable indulging in anything that could be seen as canvassing. I want the result of this RfA to be an accurate reflection of the WP community's opinion, and don't want to influence it by inviting friends to !vote. Actually, this was a mistaken creation of a userpage by a Swedish user. I deleted it, thought for a moment, checked se-wiki, restored it to move it and found he'd created a User: page afterwards. Photo request
If you can ever find the time, would you see the Ted McKenna article? Is it possible (and are you willing) to remove the frame around the photo in the infobox?
I'm still trying to galvanize help from others for the Rory Gallagher article, and especially his discography article. A lot of people on this side of the puddle aren't quite aware of his work (maybe due to his fear of flying but he influenced so many. PLUS on his compilation albums, completing some of them will help the discographies of people like Muddy Waters, Lonnie Donegan, Albert King, etc.
- And you wonder why I love you!! Like I said before, the words were were not an exaggeration! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 09:17, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Whoops. Can you do the same for the infobox photo of Scott Gorham? Sorry, I've got to whip these photographers into shape with their frames and watermarks.. it's ridiculous. - Going through you logs I see you haven't blocked anyone, hows about we fit a block in there, User talk:Fittiesonkire. She is abusing talk page privileges, may want to reblock her to include no access to talk pages. mauchoeagle (c) 20:14, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Looks like I was too late on that one. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 20:24, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Shucks, no block for you I guess. On an unrelated not, I love you talk page design. mauchoeagle (c) 20:26, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks... It's based on a template on Wikipedia:User page design center/Style I was trying to go for something functional but subtle (have a look at the header, there's more links there than are obvious). I think it needs a few tweaks yet, as
wikilinks aren't all that obvious at the moment.(edit. fixed...) Catfish Jim & the soapdish 20:52, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Bobby Bowman
The bio for Bobby Bowman was removed from I Cant Love You Back. Infact Mr. Bowman holds one of three titles of this song as a writer. Also Jeff Hyde, who was in no way involved in the writing of this song remains there. Please explain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.157.98.168 (talk) 20:21, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'd love to, but I'm afraid I don't know anything about it. I take it you mean from the article I Can't Love You Back? I don't believe I've ever edited there. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 20:27, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Area notionally bounded by London Road, Maukinfauld Road, Cuthelton Street/Glamis Road, Helenvale Street. The investigative sociologist who lived there for a while (incognito) did so in the middle of it at Dunning Street, which bordered the Boiler Works (John Thomson/Wilson Boilers, now no longer there). There was attached to these premises a (probably 20th Century) small house called Lilybank Cottage, so it could be the origin of the name. (It is not on 19th Century maps). I am afraid it looks as if almost everything the area has disappeared, though a few buildings remain on London Road. I think they are very interesting architecturally (a pared down moderne tenement with quite innovative features), but information on early construction is hard to find. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest.
