Oakdale Mall is an enclosed super-regional shopping mall in Johnson City, New York, United States, serving the Binghamton metropolitan area. The mall has a gross leasable area of 963,475 square feet (89,510 m2).[1] The Oakdale Mall opened in 1975, by the development company, Interstate Properties.

The mall is currently anchored by JCPenney, while specialty brands such as American Eagle, Aéropostale, Hollister, and Eddie Bauer occupy smaller spaces.[2]

On January 5, 2017, 17-year anchor Macy's announced they would be leaving the mall as part of a strategy to cut costs and focus on their highest performing locations.[3] The store officially closed on March 26, 2017.[4] The space formerly occupied by the store was empty for several years, until it was selected as a location for a House of Sport branch of Dick's Sporting Goods. The new store is planned to open in 2023.[5]

On June 22, 2017, Sears Holdings announced they would shutter the Oakdale Mall Sears as part of aggressive efforts to eliminate unprofitable stores.[6] However, the space was later subdivided, and as of June 4, 2022 is back at full occupancy: One half was expanded and renovated into Factory by Beer Tree Brew, a craft brewery and restaurant; while the other half was transformed into a gym and wellness center by local healthcare provider Ascension Lourdes.[7][8]

The mall lost another anchor in April 2018, when an earlier announcement by The Bon-Ton that it would liquidate its retail operations took effect.[9][4]

YouTuber and filmmaker Dan Bell visited the mall as part of his Dead Mall Series on February 24, 2021. In his commentary he expressed doubt about whether the property would continue to decline, noting the shoppers present during his visit despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the good physical condition of the property.[10]

In January 2022, as part of ongoing redevelopment efforts, it was reported the mall envisioned a US$117 million plan to further develop the concourse while incorporating the rest of the mall.[11]

In October 2022, Burlington announced it would close its mall store transition to a location at the Town Square Mall in nearby Vestal.[12]
