Our last in-person birthday bash, Wikipedia Day NYC 2019.

Part celebration and part conference, the Wikipedia Day NYC 22nd Birthday Bash will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023, 1-5pm at Jefferson Market Library in Greenwich Village and hosted by Wikimedia NYC. One of a number of Wikipedia Days worldwide, the day will feature keynote presentations, breakout group discussions, lightning talks and yes, cake. Wikimedia NYC is especially interested in seeing newcomers join experienced Wikipedians/Wikimedians on this day, so step right up.

We will also be observing Public Domain Day and discussing works entering Public Domain this new year!

Participation is free, but limited based by capacity.

We may also have a social gathering in the evening, after the library event closes.

All attendees are subject to Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct. In addition, to participate in person you should be vaccinated and also be sure to respect others' personal space, and we may limit overall attendance size if appropriate. New York Public Library encourages the wearing of masks when indoors, and especially be mindful of those in your proximity.

Lightning talks

Add your 3-5 minute lightning talk here! Lightning talks may cover a wide range of topics related to Wikipedia, Wikimedia, and the larger free culture movement. They don't even have to mention Wikipedia! However, we ask that lightning talks aren't used to promote or sell products and services. We have space on the schedule for ~10 lightning talks, we may have to institute a cut-off after that.
