Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andheri West metro station - a possible way foward

Can I make a suggestion about a way forward? Why not try making the article on the Aqua Line (Pune Metro) so that it contains all the information in the various articles on the stations of that line (complete with citations), and then improve that article such that it is clearly better than the separate articles on the stations of the Aqua Line. Doing that would also give you a better understanding of which Aqua Line station articles had independent notability, and then do separate AFDs on each of the eight least notable stations, proposing that they each be changed to redirect to the section on that station in your improved Aqua Line (Pune Metro) article.-- Toddy1 (talk) 05:28, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your suggestion! I'll check the notability of individual articles carefully, so I don't see ay harm of closing the discussion with NC or keep. Timothytyy (talk) 05:32, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for 2023 Aryna Sabalenka tennis season

On 7 October 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2023 Aryna Sabalenka tennis season, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that during her 2023 season, Aryna Sabalenka became the first woman since Serena Williams in 2016 to reach the semifinals at all four majors in a season? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2023 Aryna Sabalenka tennis season. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, 2023 Aryna Sabalenka tennis season), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Timothytyy, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:32, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot! I will continue to create high-quality articles! Timothytyy (talk) 02:56, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Altay railway station

On 27 October 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Altay railway station, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that until the opening of Altay railway station (pictured) in June 2017, no railway services were provided to Altay City, a tourist attraction with rich mineral resources? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Altay railway station. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Altay railway station), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Challaghatta metro station

Hi @Timothytyy. The point I'm making in the Articles for deletion/Challaghatta metro station is that you seem (well, that's how it's coming over to me) to be holding this metro station and Benniganahalli to a higher level of sourcing required to pass the GNG than with the Yuyuan station (Shenzhen Metro) article you helped improve. I'm tempted to put that article up for AfD. You dismiss most of the Challaghatta sources as being about the line, not the station. The first source in Yuyuan is about the line with a single sentence on the station. The second and third sources have duplicate wording in translation, again mostly covering the line but with three sentences on the station. I don't think you should have removed the notability template because no attempt has been made to address the concerns I have with notability of that article. I don't begrudge your putting up the AfDs as both articles have been expanded to benefit the encyclopedia. What I'm having trouble with is apparent inconsistency i.e. why you see Yuyuan as notable and not the expanded Bangalore metro station articles. Rupples (talk) 02:08, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The purpose of an AfD is to try to seek improvement if it can be made. I apreciate your efforts in expanding the article. You added two or three sources that provides some degree of individual coverage. The problem is you try to link to other articles about the notability without providing any guidelines. Anyway, after the improvements, I would not oppose closing this as NC just like the other one. Please try to expand other Indian metro articles if you can because a lot of them lack individual content and coverage. Thank you. Timothytyy (talk) 08:10, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Thanks. Rupples (talk) 14:11, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Reviewer granted

Hi Timothytyy. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. — The Earwig (talk) 08:44, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Users who are consistently making some disruptive editing

Hi Timothytyy,, could you help me to check this two user: Alfrzi and 222.154.93.245. They are consistently making some disruptive editing.. all i can do is revert their edits, and give some warning. I hope you can help for the next step.. Thanks. Stvbastian (talk) 00:13, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Will keep an eye on them, thanks for the alert!
P.S. Next time you can use friendlier words than "stupidity" to the new users. Keep up your anti-disruption work! Timothytyy (talk) 04:19, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prods

Hello Timothytyy -- Just a note to say that prods can be objected to on any ground or none, there is no concept of a "valid reason" to object. Online sources on the open web are not necessary and simple searches in Google for sources are almost never enough to show that notability is absent, especially where the subject is not English. Espresso Addict (talk) 19:02, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If a search in Chinese doesn't turn up anything, then? Also, thanks for your reminder, just finished reading WP:DEPROD. Next time, I hope you can really look into the coverage before hastily deprodding everything without responding to the issues raised. Thank you very much. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I question your AFC acceptance of this article. The references look overwhelmingly non-WP:IS. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:39, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think you failed to notice the 2 SCMP sources. First, they are absolutely not affiliated with the subject. Secondly, SCMP is a reputable publisher. Thirdly, source 12 looks ok too. Did you mean that there are a lot of non-RS in the article or are you questioning its notability? Is it needed to clean up the sources? Thanks!Timothytyy (talk) 12:45, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'm questioning notability; without notability, the draft should not be accepted. The first SCMP ref is an interview, which by definition is not WP:IS. The second one is a passing mention of a quote, so also not IS and not SIGCOV. Neither can be used to establish notability. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:53, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is there something wrong with source 9? It seems to have enough coverage. Timothytyy (talk) 13:06, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Another interview? #9 and #22 are the same ref, and listed in the interviews section. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:14, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please inspect the source. I think it counts as IS. Timothytyy (talk) 13:25, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is it an interview? My "free reads" are used up. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:28, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so. Also the title of the section is "Interviews and articles". But I agree that most sources are just non-IS. Will be more careful in reviewing next time!
P.S. The subject seems notable, I'll add some sources later. Timothytyy (talk) 13:33, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
