Jamie Weall: Wikipedia policy is to title articles by what the subject is usually called (e.g. "Tony Blair", not "Anthony Blair"). It seems that your company is now usually called "Aston Manor", without the "Ltd" of its official name. However its own web site, and the address you give above, call it "Aston Manor Cider". I will change it to either of those, if you let me know which is more appropriate. Maproom (talk) 11:39, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Maproom - thanks for this. Please can you change to Aston Manor Cider. I also note that some of the content is quite out of date and was wondering how we go about making this a bit more current? can you let me know how we go about doing this please? thanks JamieJamie Weall (talk) 07:47, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved it to "Aston Manor Cider".
If there are errors in the article that need correcting, or things that need updating, please detail them here, preferably with references that support your prefered version. Then an impartial editor who reads this talk page (maybe me) will decide whether to edit the page. Maproom (talk) 09:19, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Maproom - thanks for this. I have updated the About, Management and History sections so they reflect the business as it is now with full references for each point - see below:-

Company's proposed version, November 2017

About

The business was established in 1983 [1] and is the largest independently owned cider maker in the UK. [2]

Aston Manor produces a range of cider and perry in across the premium, mainstream and value categories [3], as well as own brand products for retailers [4], and exports to more than 20 countries [5].

It has a production and packaging facility in Birmingham [6], orchards in Worcestershire and Herefordshire [7], a pressing and cider production site in Stourport-on-Severn [8] and a further production and packaging facility at Tiverton in Devon [9].

Management

It was managed by Peter Ellis, son of Doug Ellis [1] until 2013, when Gordon Johncox took over as managing director from Peter Ellis, who is now executive chairman [2]. Gordon Johncox is deputy chair of the National Association of Cider Makers [3]. James Ellis is Financial Director [4].

History

In 2009, Aston Manor Cider took over the Devon Cider Company acquiring the business, property and assets of the Tiverton-based firm. [1]

In spring 2013 the business launched an £30m investment program [1] into its facilities including £2.5m to support the planting of 1,000 acres of additional new orchards committing to the planting of over 350,000 trees across Worcestershire and Herefordshire. [2]

In the autumn of 2013, a new fruit processing and pressing facility was added in Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire. [3]

In July 2014 the business began construction on a logistics facility at a new site just three miles from the Aston production site. [4]

Adjacent to the M6 at Witton in Birmingham, this new logistics hub is also now the head office of Aston Manor. [5]

In 2015, Aston Manor Cider’s mainstream cider brand, Kingstone Press, was awarded a two year sponsorship deal with the England Rugby League [6]

Since 2015, Kingstone Press has also been the official cider and finishers' drink at the Tough Mudder mud run [7]

In 2016 turnover was almost £113m – a 4% increase on 2015 – with an EBITDA for the year amounting to £8.2 million [8].

Hi Maproom - can you confirm if you have had chance to look at this please? many thanksJamie Weall (talk) 15:36, 2 January 2018 (UTC) Jamie — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamie Weall (talkcontribs) 15:29, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jamie Weall. Yes, I read this talk page from time to time, most recently today. This section starts with a request to change the name of the article to "Aston Manor Cider", which has been done. Then there's a long list of other requests, mostly promotional and poorly sourced, which I and other editors have been ignoring.
If you have just one or two requests, where the article actually needs updating because of errors or out-of-date information, and you make them in separate sections of this page, I think it likely that someone will decide to help. But we are not at all likely to add yearly updates of the company's EBITDA. Maproom (talk) 16:20, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Jamie Weall: To echo what Maproom says; I suggested to your colleague on this page in 2015 (and still visible, above): "Generally it would be helpful, please, if you could suggest changes individually rather then posting a rewrite of the entire piece.". MD dates

[edit]

If Michael Hancocks was managing director in 2001, when did Peter Ellis take on that role? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:52, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ellis was Financial Director to begin with. I think Hancocks effectively stood down as MD and Ellis took over after his arrest, but didn't officially resign until convicted. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:14, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
