The text says she is 464th in line to succeed to the British throne, but the table below says she's 469th. I have no idea which is right. If anybody does, please correct it.Lionel Elie Mamane 06:59, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In any case the article needs updating. It (and the source) say she is 678 to the throne, but the source is from before the birth of Prince George of Cambridge. She is now #679. 101090ABC (talk) 07:34, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Draft

[edit]

My name is Lindsay and I work for the article-subject. In compliance with WP:COI, I would like to propose this rework of the page that would be more complete, add better citations, address the citation needed tag, and improve the page’s overall quality. The draft would also reduce the amount of detail about a petty theft charge that feels like it it over-emphasized at the moment. Lrgoldman3 (talk) 21:13, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I trimmed the shoplifting portion as I do agree is was WP:UNDUE and added a source. I have no issue if the reviewer makes other amendments. S0091 (talk) 23:13, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Lrgoldman3, you'll need to remove the references to The Sun as well as any content relying on those references. Per WP:RSPS, The Sun was deprecated in the 2019 RfC. There is consensus that The Sun is generally unreliable. References from The Sun are actively discouraged from being used in any article and they should not be used for determining the notability of any subject. Schazjmd (talk) 00:59, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @S0091: and @Schazjmd:. I've implemented your feedback in the draft by removing all citations to The Sun and any citations where the supporting material was quoted to Hicks. In some instances I found replacement citations either to the Tatler[1] or to other green-lighted sources[2]. Let me know if you have any additional feedback and whether you feel the proposed draft would improve the page. Lrgoldman3 (talk) 18:12, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Lrgoldman3. I hope to have this edit request completed today. I'll need to compare the current and proposed text word-for-word to identify where text is being changed and to satisfy for myself that each change is appropriate and in accordance with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Please don't use this method for future edit requests, because it's tedious work for other editors. Request your changes individually, in a "change X to Y" approach; that makes accepting or rejecting the edits less of a burden on other editors. Schazjmd (talk) 18:26, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've started on the edits. I have not used your suggestion of "philanthropist" in the infobox or the lead. The article does not support that philanthropy is a major occupation or area of notability. Schazjmd (talk) 19:28, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edits completed. I made some changes to the proposed wording, and I also removed the express.co.uk ref (same category as The Sun, sorry for missing that earlier). Schazjmd (talk) 20:36, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Marriage

[edit]

Is there any source for her marriage to David Flint Wood on 10 September 2021? And even if there is, she may not have changed her name? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 17:40, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

She did marry as reported here in the Telegraph, but I don't believe she's changed her name. -- Willthacheerleader18 (talk) 17:46, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Even if she did, per WP:COMMONNAME I do not believe the article should be moved to a new title. @Gonebyreddust:, a start is to provide sources supporting her name change. S0091 (talk) 21:05, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I tend to agree. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:10, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I also left a message on Gonebyreddust's talk page (they are newish so might not know about pings) in addition to Lrgoldman3's, the COI editor from the edit request above who works for India, as I think they could be helpful. S0091 (talk) 21:39, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:50, 10 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry about that, I didn’t ask for a WP:consensus before changing the title, but she did married yesterday. I sincerely apologize for my reckless. I think I should undo this and change back to India Hicks before there are any new sources of her changing her surname? @Martinevans123: @Willthacheerleader18:@S0091: Gonebyreddust (talk) 04:51, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved it back to India Hicks, if there is any sources that could prove that she changed her surname, I would open a new discussion on whether or not to change her surname. Thanks for all of your reminder and I sincerely apologize to bring troubles to all of you. @Martinevans123: @Willthacheerleader18:@S0091: Gonebyreddust (talk) 08:31, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. An easy mistake to make. Many thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 08:45, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, no worries! S0091 (talk) 15:21, 11 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Philanthropy Content

[edit]

Hi my name is Zoe and I work for a marketing firm employed by the article-subject, India Hicks. In compliance with WP:COI, I'd like to request a couple changes to the page.

First, I want to suggest more content on Ms. Hick's philanthropic work be added to the personal life section. I've prepared a draft for consideration.

Philanthropy content draft

Hicks has competed in several marathons. She also rode a 100-mile (160 km) bike ride to raise money for cancer victims, in memory of her adopted son's biological mother.[1] She partners with a local food bank[2] and with the disaster relief agency Global Empowerment Mission where she is a part of their advisory board.[3] She joined the Global Empowerment Mission's board in 2019.[4] During that time, she visited the Abaco Islands after Hurricane Dorian, Alabama after it experienced a tornado, Florida after the surfside condominium collapse, and Poland during Russia's invasion of Ukraine.[4] After the Russian invasion, Hicks travelled throughout Ukraine with her son delivering supplies and helping people find shelter.[5] She is also an ambassador for The Prince's Trust, a charity focused on helping young people find jobs, training, and other work opportunities.[6]

Second, I'd like to suggest we replace the sentence "She also started a local boutique shop called The Sugar Mill Trading Company." in the introductory section with something like "Hicks travels frequently to disaster sites in her role with a non-profit called the Global Empowerment Mission." Her boutique shop is not really very notable or a major life milestone, whereas her charitable work is a more substantial part of her life story.

Thank you in advance for impartially considering my suggestions. Best regards. Zoelin99 (talk) 21:10, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mostly implemented. Republicworld.com is a deprecated source and cannot be used. Please follow the instructions at WP:COIREQ for future requests. Schazjmd (talk) 00:00, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
