Albums

[edit]

What information will this page have that the articles about Player Select and Starbomb don't already have? I feel like the group as a whole just isn't worthy of a standalone article, yet. I understand if you're still compiling the article, but... consider just allowing the two album pages to exist until they reach further notability. One could even consider getting rid of both of the album pages, and combining them into one Starbomb page. snoɯʎuoɥʇuɐ 13:56, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Per criteria three of WP:BAND, "Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart", Starbomb passes notability guidelines. Now as far as criteria for the albums go (WP:NALBUM), they pass under criteria two, "The single or album has appeared on any country's national music chart." Player Select has also received a review from AllMusic, but both albums pass on the charting alone. I do think that some material needs to be incorporated into this article, but I don't think that this necessarily means that either album article needs to be deleted, not when they do pass individual notability guidelines. • Also, the reason the article is so light is because I didn't have the time to add more. However I need to specify that the absence of material in an article does not mean that the article should not exist on Wikipedia. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 14:55, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I will admit that I created this while looking at the article for Dan Avidan and I'm arguing that the notability of this group (which again, does pass notability guidelines for bands) should establish notability for Avidan, but I don't want the AfD for Avidan to negatively influence this article's existence. In other words, make sure that you're not indirectly arguing for lesser notability and possible deletion of this page in an attempt to back up the deletion of Avidan's article. At least, not without a very good argument that the band and individual articles would fail BAND or NALBUM individually. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 14:59, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Granted, the albums are notable in that regard. However, the existence of the Starbomb article is just reiterating information already present in both of the album articles. Unless there's more information to dig up that will separate the band's article from the albums', in addition to different sources, I don't see why it needs to exist, just yet. That's why the band hasn't had an article for all this time. It's not the absence of material, it's the obsolescence of the article. In addition, this has nothing to do with Dan's article. snoɯʎuoɥʇuɐ 15:03, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • The existence of albums articles doesn't mean that a band's article should not exist and the article's current status (or that it would repeat info from the albums' articles) should not mean that it should be deleted. The article can and will be improved. It should not be deleted because at this point in time the article is almost empty and if you took it to AfD, you'd likely be told that this would require cleanup and not deletion. You've got to understand it from my point of view - you're essentially saying that we only need articles on the albums, not the band - in a way arguing against the band's notability. If only one of the two albums was notable I'd be inclined to agree with you, however that's not the case here and both albums pass notability guidelines at this point in time. Is it Tryforce or TryForce?

[edit]

I know this may not seem important, but the article lists it both ways. Just want some consistency. 68.170.18.122 (talk) 19:05, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've made it "TryForce" throughout the article for consistency as "TryForce" was more common in the article than "Tryforce" was. 68.170.18.122 (talk) 19:21, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
