Resolved

Added rationale and tagged talk page. Cleaned up the image and converted to PNG. Renamed to File:Transatlantic Council badge.png (you misspelled Transatlantic ). ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 16:22, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Settummanque

[edit]

I just wanted to drop you a line since I saw your changes on American Scouting overseas. Let me know if there is anyway that I can help you in Wikipedia. I've been hoping that you, with your experience in things scouting, would help out with the scouting related pages on Wikipedia. The Alpha Phi Omega related pages are pretty extensive, but if you can think of anything else, please let me know. Sincerely,Naraht (talk) 17:25, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Next time you have a chance, your input is apppreciated. --evrik (talk) 14:50, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:02, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The emblem is my personal emblem, photographed from a collection of Transatlantic Council emblems. If you like, I can replace that one with another one from my personal collection. Thanks! - Settummanque/Mike (talk) 18:24, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You may own the image, but you need TAC to release the copyright. Ping me and I'll tell you how. --evrik (talk) 03:15, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Additionally, those who are either employed with or are sustainers of the local Council involved may use insignia and badges of the Boy Scouts of America and that local Council without seeking permission from the Council Scout Executive nor the National Center. This constitutes "free and fair usage" as long as such usages are consistent with the BSA's Aims, Goals and Mission. I am a part of the Transatlantic Council, headquartered in Brussels, Belgium and have been so a part of since 1999. Thanks! Settummanque/Mike (talk) 18:33, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The article needs to discuss the image. --evrik (talk) 03:15, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The emblem, commonly referred to as the "(A)round the World TAC" emblem", is a historical central patch and identified members and leaders of that Council. The design was created in 1958 and over the years have changed due to the changes of the local Council makeup. Countries not a part of the Council are in black; countries a part of TAC are in red. Surrounding this central pocket patch are segmented patches (segments), representing various activities and events the individual participated in during their time in the Council. Current BSA insignia control policies allow only two "rings" (not to exceed the dimensions of the pocket) to surround the emblem. Many Scouts and Scouters wear the emblem on a jacket or suspended from the pocket to get around this "restriction". The emblem continues to be used today but very rarely does a Scout or Scouter wear it. There is a new design which incorporates the current "reach" of the Council but it has not been distributed as of the date of this entry.
