Worms: Open Warfare 2 is a turn-based strategy game developed by Team17 and published by THQ for the Nintendo DS and Sony PlayStation Portable. The PSP and DS version will be released in July or August, 2007.
Gameplay
In Worms: Open Warfare 2, the player takes control of a small group of worms. The goal of the game is to defeat the opposing teams by reducing the health points of enemy worms using various types of weaponry, without losing all your worms. You can select victory dances for your worms and create your own race or fort maps using the level editor. The PSP version allows players to select hats for their worms. The DS version misses out on the hats but it includes some exclusive mini games.
Singleplayer
There will be a campaign mode in which your worms will battle in famous and not so famous historical settings. There will also be a puzzle mode that involves using the logic of the Worms universe to solve increasingly cunning tests of mental agility.
Multiplayer
WOW2 supports online and offline multiplayer. You can play the classic deathmatch, fort mode (teams each have their own fort and try to destroy their opponents forts) and an all new jetpack/rope race mode.
Weapons
There are 31 known weapons in the game (source: http://www.wormsopenwarfare2.com). These include Bazooka, Homing Missile, Boomerang, Grenade, Cluster Bomb, Holy Hand Grenade, Banana Bomb, Sentry Gun, Electro Magnet, Mine, Dynamite, Prod, Sheep, Super Sheep, Buffalo of Lies, Firepunch, Dragon Ball, Kamikaze, Blowtorch, Pneumatic Drill, Girder, Parachute, Teleport, Jetpack, Shotgun, Uzi, Ninja Rope, Airstrike, Bunker Buster, Concrete Donkey and Lightning Strike.
