How many titles?

Like the Summon table in Final Fantasy magic, we need to set clear critera for which character names are included and which aren't. The current article simply say "at least in two titles", but this may be too low because in this case we should add Boco, Lone Wolf, Piet, and probably a few others. Piet might be worth mentioning in 'Biggs and Wedge', but I'm not sure about the others. Kariteh 07:27, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At this point, it's almost impossible to tell what is an appropriate cap. If we were to pick something, 3 would seem to be the magic number that's used in most other circumstances, but I'd rather not pick a number until after we see how crufty this article threatens to become. If 2 works just fine and the article stays clean, then keep it at 2. And for the record, Boco appears in at least 3 games, FFV, FFVIII and FFT. --—ΔαίδαλοςΣΣ 15:57, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I also think overall role should come into play. For instance, I think Sara and Lone Wolf may be borderline, while Boko is fine. — Deckiller 18:14, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gilgamesh's Excalipur

should be mentioned or I will csd the Excalipur page. Kariteh 17:43, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Gilgamesh12.jpg

Image:Gilgamesh12.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:40, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tantalus

The performing troupe Tantalus plays a major role in FFIX, and are mentioned in FFXII in Archades as the "Mummers of Tantalus", also a performing troupe. Does anyone know of any other instances where Tantalus makes an appearance? And if not, does this qualify as a recurring name for the purposes of inclusion in this article? --—ΔαίδαλοςΣ 17:28, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FFI DS But Tantalus was never a "character". Kariteh 17:30, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I was asking. I can't think of any other article that it would better belong in, though. --—ΔαίδαλοςΣ 17:38, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then it proves that it's trivial. Kariteh 18:14, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What? No it doesn't. It doesn't mean that it can't go somewhere else, it means that I feel that this article is the best place for it to go. --—ΔαίδαλοςΣ 18:31, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The Tantalus troupe plays some role in FFIX, and a totally similar Tantalus troupe is mentioned in passing in some obscure optional text in FFI:DS and FFXII. It's a cameo, not a "recurring" character/group name that has recurring importance in the plots. Kariteh 19:07, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-FF

Got the discussion starting. Should mentions of recurring names in non-FF games be mentioned in this article? It sounds more like additional trivia to this article, which is disputed for its fiction notability. It adds weight, yes, but not in the way I see it. — Blue 12:24, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
