ER

ER, it's a New Year, seems like if it was yesterday that I last spoke to you (or wrote (smile)). I think I took care if it. I can't do the same for the tables unless I eliminate the "sortable" part. What do you suggest?Tony the Marine (talk) 19:08, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:408sqn 72.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:408sqn 72.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:48, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please feel free to replace this image with the appropriate "replaceable" image.— ERcheck (talk) 04:50, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Resolved

ER. you said: "The ref you have is U.S. Army. I added DoD (#73), but can't find sec 532(f). See my embedded comments in the workshop section. Can you find 532(f) or a USMC ref?" I think you meant (ref #72). Fixed. Tony the Marine (talk) 05:19, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Would you say that the article in my workshop is ready for mainspace? Tony the Marine (talk) 02:26, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The portal looks great. I recommend Sgt. Angel Mendez, either for a future "Selected Bio" or the "DYK" section. I'm working on his MoH and already I have the Puerto Rican Senate's backing and Congressman J. Serrano. I'm waiting to hear from Congressman C. Rangel. One thing that I wanted to know about the portal. Why is it that the "top" section has links to subjects such as "Italian Wars" · "Military history of Africa" · "Military history of France", etc.? I'm just wondering. Tony the Marine (talk) 03:44, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rudget!

Dear ERcheck, my sincere thanks for your support in my second request for adminship, which ended with 113 supports, 11 opposes, and 4 neutral. I would especially like to thank my admin coach and nominator, Rlevse and Ryan Postlethwaite who in addition to Ioeth all inspired me to run for a second candidacy. I would also like to make a special mention to Phoenix-wiki, Dihyrdogen Monoxide and OhanaUnited who all offered to do co-nominations, but I unfortunately had to decline. I had all these funny ideas that it would fail again, and I was prepared for the worst, but at least it showed that the community really does have something other places don't. Who would have though Gmail would have been so effective? 32 emails in one week! (Even if it does classify some as junk :P) I'm glad that I've been appointed after a nail biting and some might call, decision changing RFA, but if you ever need anything, just get in touch. The very best of luck for 2008 and beyond, Rudget. 15:31, 12 January 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Re: Revisiting User:Melaniesharrison/sandbox

Hey ERcheck, thanks for your note. I'm not sure this sandbox effort is going anywhere, I had one note from Melanie a couple of weeks back and she's made no edits since Dec 14. I'm tempted to leave her one last notification of deletion, wait a few days, then blow the sucker away. What do you reckon? The Rambling Man (talk) 07:51, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll give her a deadline later on today. Can't say we didn't try! The Rambling Man (talk) 07:01, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Deadline passed, sandbox deleted, note left. Good luck and good editing! The Rambling Man (talk) 16:49, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Darin albumcover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Darin albumcover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:33, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please feel free to delete this orphaned image that was uploaded in 2005. — ERcheck (talk) 04:48, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why delete my corrections?

hey, ERcheck, i would like to know why you deleted my "Pizza Hut" corrections about the number of employees and the customer mania headline? Please drop me a line via email, marilynspikes@msn.com.

It took me a long time to add those little 2 lines. I am new to writing on Wikipedia and i do wish to add more material, but if people such as yourself will simply delete my work, i feel discouraged from adding further information.

Please be so kind as to respond to me request?

Response on editor's talk page. — ERcheck (talk) 17:38, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for such a thorough response. It has really helped in re-installing my devout faith for Wiki. Many thanks and I will continue to add where I feel it is needed.

Thank you for all the links suggested, and I shall read them.
