Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Unit17 (talk | contribs) at 00:45, 6 April 2008. The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This page is for requests to usurp accounts that already exist. If you want your account renamed to a name that is not already taken, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.

This page permits users to request, and bureaucrats to consider and carry out, the "usurpation" of usernames. This consists of renaming an existing dormant account in order to permit another user to adopt the name.

If you wish to request usurpation, please read and follow the instructions below. The account you want to usurp should have no edits or log entries (except in the username creation log) to qualify for usurpation, although rare exceptions are made where old edits do not require attribution under the GFDL. Please do not request usurpation if your user account is less than several months old, or barely used. In order to ensure that usurped usernames be put to good use, we prefer only to grant requests from reasonably well-established users.

If you have already unified your login, it is impossisible to rename an existing account to that name, because of bug #13507. Unification is still possible once the old account is moved out of the way, but you can not merge edits from another username with your global account until the bug is fixed.

Instructions
  • Log in to your present account.
  • Leave a message on the talk page of the target account (preferably of the form {{subst:usurpation requested}} ~~~~) notifying the user of your request.
Please do not e-mail the target account yourself. If this becomes necessary, a bureaucrat or clerk will do so.
  • Add your request to this page using the proper template. This may be done via a shortcut (1) or by the traditional method (2):
(1) The shortcut: Click this link. Replace "REQUESTED_NAME" with the username you wish to usurp, and "CURRENT_NAME" with your current username. You may include some reason for the change beneath the template if you wish. Leave the "Subject/headline" field blank.
(2) The traditional method: Click "edit this page"; find the section for today's date; copy the following text and paste it at the bottom of that section.
{{subst:usurp|REQUESTED_NAME|CURRENT_NAME}} ~~~~
Replace "REQUESTED_NAME" with the username you wish to usurp, and "CURRENT_NAME" with your current username. You may include some reason for the change beneath the template if you wish.
  • Check your spelling and click "Save page".
  • Your request is now complete and ready to be processed. If the owner of the target account does not object within seven days, a bureaucrat will fulfill your request provided other requirements are met. Mark the date, so you will not be surprised when you find yourself unable to log in to your old account.

Notes

  • When the rename has been completed, your account will have been renamed, and any contributions you have made (including deleted contributions) will be reattributed to your new account as a background process. Your account preferences, watchlist contents, password, etc. will all be preserved, and your user and user talk pages will have been moved to the new name.
Note: The process responsible for reallocating old contributions is currently dependent upon the job queue mechanism. As such, you may find old contributions do not immediately appear under your new account; this is perfectly normal. Updates should take at most a day to complete, although the length of time will vary according to the size of the job queue on this wiki, and the status of the server processes which process this queue.
  • The change will appear in the user rename log and the request will be moved to the archives in the interest of transparency. It is not possible to rename accounts without an entry being created in the log.
  • This change will not affect signatures you have already left on talk pages, or other places where you signed your username with ~~~~. Those pages will continue to display your signature (including the link to your old username) unless edited manually.
  • Be aware: Once you have been renamed, your old account will no longer exist and may potentially be recreated by a third party. This is true even if your old account pages have been redirected towards your new account. To guard against impersonation, you may wish to recreate the old account yourself.

A few users have agreed to provide assistance with the mechanics of this process. If you wish to assist as well, please read the linked page carefully.

Serein ← Sereine

reason : I'm sysop @ French Wikipédia and have more contribs than him, who have parted since one year. Thanks --Sereine (talk) 00:31, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Normally, this usurpation would be denied, as the editor in question has over five thousand edits. In the past, unifying usernames cross-project has allowed disregard for newness of editors, and edits by the requested username. However, there are five thousand edits; this might be more than allowed. So a bureaucrat would need to make a pretty big discretion ruling here. It's also very similar to my username. XD seresin | wasn't he just...? 00:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - the English Wikipedia has no policy that allows the renaming of accounts that have made GFDL significant edits in good faith without them agreeing to this. That position may need to be reviewed should proposals for unified login be implemented. Until such a time however, I cannot perform this request. WjBscribe 00:58, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, WjB, SUL is underway : In a few days, this feature will be made available to sysops (hence to Serein). Would you reconsider her request ? Serein has more than 12K edits on fr: :)
NicDumZ ~ 14:00, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well SUL has been about to happen many times and hasn't resulted in much. But I simply do not have this community's approval to perform this sort of rename. If SUL does start to happen, it will need a discussion here about how far the community feels bureaucrats should go to accommodate these sorts of request. I do agree that should SUL happen, Serein has the best claim to this name. WjBscribe 16:13, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to point out a problem caused by this name conflict. As you may know, in some wikis such as de: transwikis are made when articles are translated, to keep the original history. Hence, contributions of the actual Serein from en are listed in Sereine's contributions in those projects, under the name "Serein", which she owns in every project but en:). This causes history problems because the contributions list of the user Serein in those wikis contain in fact edits of both users. Here's an example. IMHO, it's another reason to support the usurpation (which will, anyway, definitely have to be done some day). PieRRoMaN 21:14, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There really isn't much point arguing about - its not something I can do. See m:Help:Unified login#Someone is using my name on another wiki, how can I get that account?: "If you want to usurp an account on another wiki, and that account has edits, you should make a request to a bureaucrat on the problem wiki. Subject to local policy, the bureaucrat may be able to rename the target account." The local policies of this project do not allow usurpation in these circumstances. That doesn't mean it never will, but at the moment this request is outside my discretion. WjBscribe 21:20, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I understand the problem. Thanks :-) --Sereine (talk) 21:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The SUL is becoming now... could you think about it again ? Thanks :-) --Sereine (talk) 09:20, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Duesentrieb ← Gearloose

I request the usurpation mainly in the light of upcoming SUL, so I can use my global user name on the english wikipedia too. I am well known as Duesentrieb on several projects, including de:wp (admin), commons (admin), mediawiki (admin), as well as meta. User:Duesentrieb on de.wikibooks.org is not me (inactive since 2004), User:Düsentrieb (with umlaut) on de:wp is not me either. Some of my edits on commons seems to have been copied to the incubator via transwiki.

The present User:Duesentrieb has made only one edit ever, which was in November 2003 and is IMHO not copyrightable because trievial, and thus does not require attribution (diff).

G. Gearloose (?!) 21:14, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note:
  • The target username meets the requirements for usurpation.
  • The current owner of the target username does not have an email address specified.
As noted above, the requested account has made on edit, it 2003. However, as best I can tell, the information amended in the edit still exists in the article today. So it is probably a GFDL significant edit. However, Gearloose has said that he is a active editor and administrator on several wikis, which adds the SUL and harmonizing aspect. So a bureaucrat would need to make a discretion ruling here. seresin | wasn't he just...? 02:25, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
To clarify why I believe that attribution is not required: a license applies to copyrightable works; the edit in question is imho not copyrightable work: it merely adjusts two numbers, stating a fact (facts are not copyrightable) and thus lacks creative originality. Besides the legal aspect, I doubt the original editor is terribly keen to have that trivial edit attributed to a nickname that is not used/known, and that has no connection to his real name anyway.
Thanks -- G. Gearloose (?!) 09:23, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Addendum: please understand that I don't take license compliance and attribution of contributions lightly (as a commons admin, I have dealt a lot with these things). I just believe that no harm would be done (legally and ethically) by changing the nick to which this edit is attributed. The discontinuity it introduces seems very minor compared to the inconsitencies introducdes by the transwiki-process, not to speak of attribution getting lost or obfuscated during article marge, split or translation. The problems with transiwki (and thus also translations) will be all but solved by SUL, and in this light, it's especially important to have consistent global user names. -- G. Gearloose (?!) 09:43, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Bureaucrat note: This request is half done. I have renamed the current User:Duesentrieb, however I cannot rename you to this name as you have already unified your login. This bug has already been reported to the developers and will hopefully be fixed soon, when I can complete the renaming process. WjBscribe 02:41, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Yea, I know about that bug, I was there when it was first discussed on IRC. Standing by...
Please notify me on meta when you finish the renaming (enotif is enabled there, so i won't miss it). Or use wikimail here on enwiki. Thanks again -- Gearloose-soon-to-be-Duesentrieb (?!) 21:59, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

LA to be a doppleganger account for Lady Aleena

As LA (talk · contribs · global contribs · logs · block log) has not made any edits, and since I use the initials LA in my signature, I would like to use User:LA as a doppleganger account. - LA @ 22:31, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So you are asking that a bureaucrat rename the LA account to something else, and you recreate the LA account? seresin | wasn't he just...? 01:14, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes please, if it is not too great an imposition. - LA @ 07:48, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Whether or not a usurpation will be allowed for a non-primary account has come up before. A bureaucrat will need to comment here. If he will also comment on whether the usurpation should be done as described above, or if Aleena should create a placeholder account to usurp with would be helpful. seresin | wasn't he just...? 07:57, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can I please get an update on what is going on with this request? - LA @ 23:58, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Leinad ← Leinad_pl

This is the user name on pl.wiki where I'm an admin. I'm asking for this usurpation to avoid complications during the SUL migration, planned "soon" for sysops. Thanks. Leinad pl (talk) 01:31, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note:
  • The target username has made edits to Wikipedia that are now deleted. Usernames with only deleted edits can usually be usurped.
  • The current owner of the target username does not have an email address specified.
  • There is one edit from three years ago. It is up to a bureaucrat but it should be no problem at all because the edit requires no GFDL attribution. Alexfusco5 02:01, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(!) Request can't be completed - bug 13507. Leinad pl (talk) 02:27, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - until the bug is fixed. WjBscribe 22:57, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stefan ← st-fl

Note:
  • The target username has made edits to Wikipedia. Due to licensing concerns, this may be a barrier to usurpation. Note: Target user has logged in and made many edits. Last edit of User:Stefan was 20 March 2008. --Cream (talk) 21:31, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - the English Wikipedia has no policy that allows the renaming of accounts that have made GFDL significant edits in good faith without them agreeing to this. That position may need to be reviewed given the progress of the implementation of unified login. However, until the community decides that such requests should be performed, they lie outside bureaucrat discretion on this project. WjBscribe 21:35, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So, I’ll have to ask User:Stefan for permission or wait until policies concerning SUL are developed? Thank you so far. :-) --Stefan 21:46, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note:
  • The target username meets the requirements for usurpation.
  • The current owner of the target username does not have an email address specified. --Chris 09:03, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The account has already been merged by stewards. Could you please merge my contribs as well? Thanks. --Mercy (talk) 21:59, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - now that your login has been unified, it is not technically possible to rename User:Mercy. This request will be performed once bug #13507 is fixed. WjBscribe 22:40, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stv ← Stv^

I'm a sysop on plwiki; requesting usurpation because of the SUL migration process. stv^ 10:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note:
  • The target username meets the requirements for usurpation.
  • The current owner of the target username does not have an email address specified. – Luna Santin (talk) 10:48, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bureaucrat note: This request is half done. I have renamed the current User:Stv, however I cannot rename you to this name as you have already unified your login. This has been reported to the developers (see bug #13507) and will hopefully be fixed soon, when I can complete the renaming process. WjBscribe 18:16, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Esprit Fugace ← Anything else

I'm fr:user:Esprit Fugace, and would like to usurp the name here, but without having my current account renamed. I use "Blinking Spirit" on non french speaking wikis, and I'd like to keep this distinction. With SUL now enabled for sysops (which I am on fr.wikipedia.org), I just wish to have my account fully unified. Regards, Blinking Spirit (talk) 11:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Esprit Fugace (talk · contribs) has no contribs or log entries, and does not have an email set. Have left the standard notification. This draws attention to a need for discussion of SUL-related requests, probably. – Luna Santin (talk) 11:20, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Note:
  • The target username has made edits to Wikipedia that are now deleted. Usernames with only deleted edits can usually be usurped.
  • The current owner of the target username does not have an email address specified.
You will need to create the account Anything else (talk · contribs). WjBscribe 18:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But I don't want to ! I just want Esprit Fugace (inactiv account) renamed in whatever you want to free the user name. Thus it should be made mine through SUL, won't it ? Making another account seems exceedingly complicated. If it's the only way, I can, but I didn't think it would be necessary. Blinking Spirit (talk) 19:39, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Very well. I will simply rename out of the way provided the account does not object in the next week. WjBscribe 22:36, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Don't bother : following a notice from a steward, I've just had the local account with no contributions merge with my global account. Thanks for your time, Regards, Esprit Fugace (talk) 09:07, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - request fulfilled by steward. WjBscribe 18:19, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Brett ← BrettR

Note
  • The target account made 1 edit in September 2003.
  • The target username has no deleted edits logged.
  • The current owner of the username has been notified of this usurpation request.
  • The current owner of this username does not have an email address specified.
I don't think the edit poses a problem given that the contribution was not GFDL significant. I am minded to perform this rename in a week if no objection is made by the target account. WjBscribe 18:12, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that a week has gone by with no objection. Thank you for your attention to this matter.--BrettR (talk) 14:16, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bureaucrat note: This request is half done. I have renamed the current User:Brett, however I cannot rename you to this name as you have already unified your global login. This issue has been reported to the developers (see bug #13507) and will hopefully be fixed soon, when I can complete the renaming process. WjBscribe 18:21, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken over this account. I'll keep the old one as is. Thanks for your help.--Brett (talk) 00:23, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whiteknight ← Wknight8111

The current owner of the "Whiteknight" account has made fewer then 10 edits, all of which are very minor or were made on talk pages. I'm known as "Whiteknight" on most other projects including on en.wikibooks (my home wiki where I'm a bureaucrat and checkuser), meta, chapcom.wikimedia, and others. As evidence of the confusion that this situation causes, notice that on User talk:Whiteknight most of the messages there are supposed to be for me (except for the two requests for usurpation that I left on that users's page, and one other message) SUL appears to be live as of this morning, at least for admins, and this account is preventing me from unifying my login. I also plan to keep and to unify the account User:Wknight8111 as well (I use that as a bot account on other wikis), but I can recreate the account if needed. If there are any questions I can be contacted via email or on my Wikibooks user talk page. --Whiteknight (talk) (books) 14:34, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note:
  • The target username has made edits to Wikipedia. Due to licensing concerns, this may be a barrier to usurpation.
While there are only few edits, and you own the global account, the edits are (IMO) significant, as well as very recent. seresin ( ¡? ) 22:53, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kju ← Kju (de)

  • Current username: Kju (de) (talk · contribs · logs · block log)
  • Target username: Kju (talk · contribs · global contribs · logs · block log)
  • Datestamp: 16:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
  • For bureaucrat use: Email target username   (1)  (2)
Kju is my username in de-wikinews, de-wikipedia and Meta. The account Kju here has no edits. I request usurpation because of the upcoming single-user-logon. Kju (de) (talk) 16:10, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Addendum: It might not be possible to rename "Kju (de)" to "Kju" because i already started the unification process which protected the Username "Kju". I just experienced this at spanish wikipedia, they were forbidden by the system to rename my other account into "Kju". If this happens, please just rename "Kju" into something different, this will at least free "Kju" for use by me with the global account. FYI: I reported the problem here. -- Kju (de) (talk) 17:07, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oliphaunt ← Phaunt

I'm nl:User:Oliphaunt, an admin on the Dutch wikipedia, and I have accounts of the same name on about a dozen other projects. This is the only instance that was already taken, and blocks SUL unification. Phaunt (talk) 19:53, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the edits pose a problem given that the article contributions were not GFDL significant and the comment on the talkpage can be reattributed by adding a brief note to them. I am minded to perform this rename in a week if no objection is made by the target account. WjBscribe 19:56, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as usurpation requests have peaked somewhat (no doubt due to SUL), please let me know if I can be of any assistance (I could e.g. reattribute the comments on the talk page, so that all the bureaucrats (or you) need to do is to perform the technical switch). Assuming no objection is raised, of course. Phaunt (talk) 09:39, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Snakeyes ← Snakeyes_sv

I wish to usurp Snakeyes if it's possible. The user does not make an edition since September 12, 2006. The reason for this request: SUL. I'm sysop and bureaucrat at es:wiki. Thank you so much!. --Snakeyes sv (talk) 00:42, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WjBscribe 00:47, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Donatus ← DonatusHR

I'm a sysop on hrwiki and I contribute under that name also on hr.wikisource, srwiki, commons, meta and some other projects; requesting usurpation because of the SUL migration process. The existing user has two edits: the first is a deletion of a frase in the part of the article that has undergone significant changes since then; the second was in the eventually removed trivia section of the article.--DonatusHR (talk) 01:29, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note:
  • The target username has made edits to Wikipedia. Due to licensing concerns, this may be a barrier to usurpation.
  • The current owner of the username has been notified of this usurpation request.
  • The current owner of this username does not have an email address specified. Alexfusco5 01:36, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Are these edits really GFDL significant? I tryed to explane the problem above. I saw here at least one similar case resolved in different manner. I wouldn't say that this is less significant GFDL edit then the two edits mentioned above.--DonatusHR (talk) 06:03, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bureaucrat note: I don't think the second edit is significant enough to cause GFDL problems. This request is half done. Micke ← Micke-sv

I have previously made the same request here:[2] My request was not fullfilled since the target user made an edit 8 days after my request was filed. I think however thar circumstanses has changed with the unified login, and en.wikipedia is the only conflict that has not been resolved (I have the global account Micke). The target name has made only nine edits, the last one in mid may 2007, and I think that it is unfair that this user who doesen't seem interested in contributing to Wikipedia should stand in the way of my unified account on the largest wiki, with only nine edits, when I have 12655 contributions in 24 projects (I am sysop in two of these projects) with this username. MiCkE 11:24, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know I'm not going to be the only one requesting this (and I'm probably not the first since SUL was implemented), is there somewhere we can save these SUL-related requests pending a new consensus on the matter? For easy and speedy processing once a new consensus is hammered out (as I'm sure it will be), I mean. MiCkE 19:07, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, but I would note that {{usurpation requested}}, which is the message left on the page to notify of a usurpation request states that if people object to being renamed, they can just make an edit. If such an objecting edit has been made, how is this bureaucrat's discretion? --Tim4christ17 talk 08:21, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Leonardo.stabile ← Leonardo.stabile temp

I'm asking for usurpation to complete the unified login process. I'm a sysop at pt.wiki since the end of 2006. The same user at Commons and Meta belongs to me. The person that created this account at en.wiki clearly created this account to affect me, doing the same at different ga projects and simple.wiki, in the same week. This user does not have valid contributions.

According to the instructions, I have to leave a message to the target account with {{usurpation requested}}, but it's user's talk page has been protected to prevent creation. --Leonardo.stabile temp (talk) 00:11, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A question about the GFDL issues: "GFDL significant edit" means this single edit at the main namespace, or everything, including the user talk contributions? --Leonardo.stabile temp (talk) 00:23, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually its the edits , the block log, and the fact that the account was created less than 6 months ago However I believe it will be up to bureaucrat discretion Alexfusco5 00:32, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Currently I don't have an account on en.wiki: I'm requesting this usurpation in order to complete the single user login merge with my main account on it.wiki (it:Utente:Rojelio), so I'd only need the renaming of the existing account (which has no past contributions). I left a note on my userpage just to give evidence of my identity. For any direct communication, please use my discussion page on it.wiki (I will monitor this page too, of course). Many thanks. -- 193.205.81.1 (talk) 03:32, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reaperman ← Cs-Reaperman

I request usurpation because of making unified login. There is no need to save a few contribs of login Cs-Reaperman and no renaming it is needed (just making login Reaperman free) because I have not used it a lot, I have mostly edited anonymously on en.wiki. --Cs-Reaperman (talk) 00:02, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note:
  • The target username has made edits to Wikipedia that are now deleted. Usernames with only deleted edits can usually be usurped.
  • The current owner of the target username does not have an email address specified.
  • If you have already unified your login, this request is impossible because of bug 13507. Alexfusco5 01:54, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure - and just how "GFDL significant" do you find these : [7], [8], [9] ? The "significant" others being of a line now and then, I guessed we just didn't read the same GFDL (the one which reads "List on the Title Page, as authors, one or more persons or entities responsible for authorship of the modifications in the Modified Version, together with at least five of the principal authors of the Document" - I see no mention of full authorship up to and including small changes of one line). Either you reject the idea of SUL altogether, or you'll have, at one time in the not too distant future, to reconsider this policy. Blinking Spirit (talk) 19:30, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:SUL/C for the way SUL will probably be handled. However bureaucrats will have to follow current policy Alexfusco5 20:01, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So activ indeed, I'm impressed... The decision discussed being mostly to wait for others to take a decision. Blinking Spirit (talk) 20:51, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There are many other requests above and in recent archives see WJBscribe's comments and there is more discuusion here Alexfusco5 22:08, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So no chance to get this? Ok, then I strike this request and merge the rest - I see no point in waiting for something which obviously won't happen, and it's not nice towards the hypothetical bureaucrat who tries to perform it when I have already merged, so that the move won't be possible...  :/ Sorry for the impossible request. \Mike(z) 16:39, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pedrito ← Pedro Gonnet

  • Reason: I'm currently editing under my real name. I originally did this as a brazen act of honesty, however now my Wikipedia pages are the first hits when I Google myself. Since I edit strongly debated articles related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (as well as innocuous ones in Computer Science, Numerics and other Simulation-related topics), this might not always be the best first impression for people who don't know me. Since I am pursuing and academic career and have several publications to my name, I will more often than not be "Googled" by complete strangers. The account User:Pedrito seems to be dormant (not a single edit) and I might even have created it myself way back when. pedro gonnet - talk - 01.04.2008 07:08 07:08, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dorian Mersini ← Dorian.mersini

Please clarify what you want done with this request. I presume that what you actually want done is have Dorian Mersini be renamed to Dorian.mersini? The request as it stands is a rename of a non-existent account to an existing one. seresin ( ¡? ) 01:15, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sergei ← 193.124.238.36

I don't have an account yet. As you can see from my contributions, I have been an anonymous user for some time. I would like to usurp a zero-edits User:Sergei because I am ru Wikipedia Sergei (contribs), ru Wiktionary Sergei (contribs) plus several other projects. I'm not asking to be renamed from my IP address nor to transfer my contributions. Can I create a new account and be renamed to Sergei? 193.124.238.36 (talk) 19:11, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This request cannot be technically carried out without a username to usurp with. It would be possible, however, for a bureaucrat to rename the Sergei account and the IP create it. seresin ( ¡? ) 01:36, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moomoomoo ← Catzrthecoolest

I am generally known on the internet as either of these two names, but for Wikipedia I prefer Moomoomoo. The user to be usurped has only two vandalism edits from 2005 and does not seem to have been active since. Catz [TC] 20:53, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you have not made any edits since that request, so I'm not sure if the request will be granted based on the lack of use of this account. Otherwise, the request is fine. seresin ( ¡? ) 01:13, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I use the name CeGe on Commons, de.wikipedia and ca.wikipedia. I want to edit directly under this name, therefore until now no edits under CeGe_Usurpation. Creation "CeGe" was not possible, because of existing "cege" who has only one log-entry: "07:37, 28 August 2006 Cege (Talk | contribs) New user account". Want to usurp "cege" with "CeGe". Thanks!
