Help on ga.wikipedia

I need you to contact me on freenode, Charitwo@wikia/Charitwo as soon as possible please. --Charitwo talk 01:38, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm heading to bed now, for the next 16 hours you can only reach me via email. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail tomorrow if you sign on before I get off work. --Charitwo talk 04:48, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I sent you an e-mail. --Charitwo talk 16:38, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: back

I see. Glad to hear the part about you being back, it's certainly the best way to look at it. I must have slept through all of it though; did any onwiki discussion take place? Dorftrottel (harass) 15:51, March 31, 2008

Very little, as I deliberately kept the drahmaz to a minimum ;) My talk page archive from here onwards has some details. Far as I'm concerned, it's business as usual from here on in. Just that the day-job and family are taking up too much of my on-line time right now. Thanks for the note and the good wishes :) - Alison 15:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks. Dorftrottel (harass) 15:58, March 31, 2008

(Btw: lol, hadn't looked at hm for about year or so. good to see it still gives me eye cancer and hosts hearsay mostly available via 2 minutes of googling Dorftrottel (bait) 16:06, March 31, 2008)

Unconventional proposal to deal with Evolution vandalism

Hi there, I've become a little tired of this constant protect/unprotect, checkuser/block cycle. I've made a proposal for an interesting experiment here. You and Raul's comments as the people dealing wtih most of the checkuser requests would be most valuable in the discussion, so I'd be grateful if you could comment. Tim Vickers (talk) 17:05, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My murky past

Thanks for giving me a chance to redeem myself.

If I muck about act accordingly please. Keep an eye if you would to make sure that I get a fair hearing if anythink is stated against me.

Of course :) You deserve a second chance, esp. after your shaky start. You'll be just fine from here ... - Alison 18:50, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been indef blocked for sockpuppetry, vandalism and personal attacks as evidenced by this diff, and this one. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 04:54, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

zOMG!! It's okay, I wheel-warred and unblocked myself - Alison 04:55, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, i guess ill have to put in the request for you to be de-sysopped. Pretty sure it looks like your account has been hijacked. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 04:57, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Darn! I'll end up having to use one of my other admin socks - 04:59, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Clear admission of guilt. I have moved this thread to [WP:ANI] to request other administrators to start sock tagging your alt accounts and prevent you from unblocking yourself while we get a steward to start the de-sysoppings. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 05:01, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please forgive me if I am not doing this correctly but I was wondering if you could e-mail me a copy of the recent article that I made named "Daichi Kanbara" which was deleted so I can make the necessary adjustments to it as it mentions to contact an admin to e-mail it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seryass (talkcontribs)

Gregs the baker

Gregs the baker (talk · contribs) has contacted me via email to dispute my decline of his unblock request. Could you confirm that he is an abusive sockpuppetmaster and that he should remain blocked? I've referred him to Arbcom, but since you've seen him before, wanted a second opinion. MBisanz talk 20:25, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request for admin intervention

There is a dispute at Talk:Views of Lyndon LaRouche#Request for edit by an administrator. There are two self-proclaimed "critics" of LaRouche, Dennis King and Chip Berlet, who edit Wikipedia as Dking and Cberlet. They have posted a lot of subtly defamatory material, where whenever LaRouche makes comments that are critical of bankers or medieval nobility, they "interpret" these comments as veiled anti-Semitism. In the dispute in question, they go beyond this to the point of attempting to present their "interpretation" as fact, and they are resisting the proper attribution of an "interpretation" originating with Dennis King to King. Will Beback, who is an admin, has a long history of assisting them, and in this instance is attempting to deflect all discussion away from the issue of attribution, using diversionary tactics. I believe that this is an open-and-shut case of BLP violation and requires action without further debate. I am asking you to take a look at it. Thanks in advance for your attention -- Terrawatt (talk) 05:48, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Thanks for the message. I'll take a look into it, soon as I have a spare moment here. I'm not terribly au fait with the LaRouche stuff but I'll give it a go. Thanks again - Alison 21:01, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
An admin, User:Happy-melon, has agreed to make the requested edit if one other admin concurs. --Terrawatt (talk) 20:49, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again, Terawatt. This is the first real chance I had to look at this in depth and it's my opinion that the paragraph either be edited as requested or removed in its entirety due to BLP concerns. I've weighed in over there as an admin and provided the second opinion that Happy Melon requested. Also, it looks like Viridae has come to the same conclusion. Thanks, and sorry for the delay in getting to it - Alison 00:51, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Russian WP and Irish towns

I was recently asked for an opinion on whether the Russian Wikipedia should go with the Anglicized versions of town names in Ireland or the Irish/Gaeilge versions. My response is here but I really think they need more input so I've posted to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ireland and I'm dropping messages to a few of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Ireland/Gaeilge taskforce members in hopes that some of you might be up to helping on this. Hey, as you are a member of the Michael Jackson wikiproject I have some very important news for you. I will be nominating the Michael Jackson article for FA shortly and the Thriller album article is currently on the nomination list for GA. We need your help with both articles....

The Michael Jackson artice is currently on a peer review (which you can see on the articles talk page). It also really needs its references formatted correctly.

The Thriller album is going to be reviewed in the next couple of DAYS its sources need formatting.

These are the most important articles on michael jackson here at wiki, 2008 has been an excellent year for michael jackson, lets make it a good year for him here at wikipedia too. If these articles get a GA or FA statues it could make news outside of the wiki world. What a great way to celebrate the 25th year of MJ being the KING OF POP.

Please help with the sources of both these articles and in any other way you can. If you know any other people at wiki that might want to get involved let them know. Realist2 (talk) 22:30, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Brainburst: Deleted article request

Potential checkuser

Hello Alison, you previously helped me with a sockpuppeting case that happened before and I was wondering if you could help. I'm not asking you to do a checkuser, if you did that would be your own judgement, but I am asking to see if the case would be worth writing a report for (and in all honestly, I just don't want to waste time filling a checkuser report that would be declined and I would prefer filling a report I know is going to be done). So if you could head to my talk and read over the thread Timmeh started, and telling me how much I have of a chance of getting a checkuser completed, that would be most helpful. Thanks, — Κaiba 23:12, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alison, can you tell me the progress, if any, on this issue? Should I just make a checkuser request? Timmeh! 22:17, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, both of you :) I've checked here, as the evidence was compelling and have left a message on their talk page. I'd rather not reveal their IP addresses as it's not entirely warranted here. Suffice it to say that if in future, you believe they are logging out to evade detection, please just let me know as next time will likely result in a block. Thanks, and sorry for the delay - Alison 00:31, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You need to do a little more checking before you just go around throwing out false accusations. If you will look a little better you will see that the IP in question (you know the one I'm talking about) is not mine. You will see Landon1980 has only edited from that IP on three occasions. Now look at the other account that goes with that IP that edits from it on a regular basis. You should have seen that is NOT my primary IP, the vast majority of my edits are from my home IP. That is my brothers IP, and he made the statements using the IP, not I. I merely logged in a couple times while at his house. He is a Flyleaf fan as well, so he gave his opinion. I don't appreciate you slinging around accusations like that, and in a round about way revealing my brothers IP. It was not warranted for you to do that in this situation. Neither his or my IP have ever been blocked, or even so much as vandalised any article. While don't you show me policy that states I can't log in while at my brothers, and that he can't comment on something I am involved in from his OWN IP. You are a disgrace to the checkuser function. Landon1980 (talk) 03:53, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also suggest you delete my talk page or do whatever you have to do to remove that irrelevant warning you left me. Too many people already know my brother's IP because of your sloppiness. Where did you come up with the edit war idea anyways, just pull it out of your ass? That IP is not involved in any "edit war" I have ever been in, as I have never been in one in the first place. I have never even came close to violating 3RR, you go ahead and call the IP in question mine hypothetically, still I did not violate 3RR on any article. This checkuser was not even requested properly, you had no business doing what you did. I mean come on, "they edit some of the same articles" There was no previous blocked or banned users involved, or any blatant evidence of anything for that matter. On one measely article we shared the same opinion, we are brothers you know. It would be different if that was the IP I use all the time, which it is not. Saying I logged in from there 3 times is really pushing it, had you looked you would have seen this. I know exactly how checkuser works, look again and you will the IP I made the vast majority of my edits from is not even similar to the one in question. Landon1980 (talk) 04:40, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

deleted article

Hello - very recently I was working on an author biography for Kristin Billerbeck - she is on the requested article page. This is the first time I have ever done this and as I was writing I hit save to make sure my work would be OK. It seemed to save OK so I kept writing - when I hit save again, my work vanished and I was informed that "Cobaltbluetony" had deleted my work and now I can't get it back. Can you get it for me? I wasn 't finished.

Thanks, ado6277 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ado6277 (talkcontribs) 20:52, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wait......this guy is a sock of the GM Minivan vandal? Can you link me to the checkuser that confirmed this? (I am going by the tag that checkuser triggered this) I just find it odd since I am his top target for attack, that he would create a sock to simply leave me a friendly message. Karrmann (talk) 21:21, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Karmann. There's no RFCU request because I ran the checkuser myself :) I'd been contacted by an admin that was familiar with the GM vandal and as I'd done checkusers before on the guy, it was pretty straightforward. And yes, that was a direct hit, too. Guess he was getting a good hand ready. Sorry about all that - Alison 23:15, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Its no problem. I assume that it was Gogo Dodo who gave you the tip, as he has been the one who has helped me out with this guy since he started creating socks and sending me "attack letters". He told me that the vandal has been IP blocked for six months, so I won't have to deal him until October. I hope he eventually grows out of it by then. If he comes back and continues his actions, that would mean that he has been doing this for a year, and then I wouldn't have any reason for believing that it would ever end. But no GM rules bull crap for six months.....yay..... Karrmann (talk) 00:21, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This user, blocked by User:MastCell on the basis of a checkuser you did, is requesting unblocking. Could you explicitly confirm or deny what MastCell says either at User talk:Aiemeus or at User talk:MastCell#Aiemeus? Thanks. Mangojuicetalk 19:26, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
