The Sims 2 IKEA Home Stuff
It was officially announced at the EA store —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.247.125.69 (talk) 00:23, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- It seems this SP was cancelled, visit the BBS topic -Iblis Trigger (talk) 16:46, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- So even if the SP was cancelled, should it still be mentioned somewhere in the article that it was going to be released, though was later cancelled? If it gets mentioned as being cancelled with a source it may cut out the constant edit wars over trying to add it in again. Swanny92 (talk) 04:50, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps but to be quite honest it doesn't exist. The people that keep readding it to the article are just quite simply morons who have nothing better to do than add non existing stuff packs to the list. Jammy (talk) 11:14, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- The thing is though it has appeared on the EA store at one point or another though people on the Sims 2 Forums have said that they ordered it though was later cancelled. I don't know what's real and what's not though the EA Store did appear to be an official site so I'm assuming that it was existent at one point, and there has been realistic box art floating around the web as well. Swanny92 (talk) 12:21, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- It wasn't the official boxart though, it was just one that was put together to be shown in the EA Stores. Jammy (talk) 13:26, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- Finally it will be better if only the Stuff Pack from the official "The Sims 2" site is here, because without no Maxoid confirmation we're not really sure if it was cancelled or will release later. -- Iblis Trigger (talk) 02:11, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Will be released at a later date, confirmed by a mod on the official forums. 82.10.93.65 (talk) 16:29, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Zombie in FreeTime
Well, the zombies are available in the EP1 University and in the EP7 FreeTime. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.247.125.69 (talk) 23:34, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- You can get zombie from the genie resurrection wish. -- Iblis Trigger (talk) 13:38, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
Inclusion of EP details?
I was just wondering whether we should include, in the relevant sections, all the additions made by the EP's. For example in needs should we put how Plant People's (from Seasons) needs are affected? I have noticed that we have done this with a few sections, such as Relationships (information from Nightlife), but should we do it for all?
If you think so then I will begin immediately to update all the sections. MasterOfHisOwnDomain (talk) 11:28, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, not really. The article is already quite long and we have the individual pages for a reason. The only things we should really be including from the EPs are a brief description of their content and any changes they make to the base game. So the Nightlife relationship stuff effects the entire game, while plant people really only effect planet people which are EP specific.--Crossmr (talk) 14:11, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- Kk, so you're suggesting using my disgression when adding bits and pieces of EP-related info, only the bits which affect the entire game. That's going to be difficult, but I'll see what I can do.. MasterOfHisOwnDomain (talk) 19:22, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Genie?
Should the genie be counted as a creature, considering you can't control him as a sim? 69.136.91.226 (talk) 23:12, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think you're right, but it's the only thing close to a expansion creature. So I think it's best to leave it as it is. --Jammy (talk) 19:57, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Is This New Picture Okay?
Image:Sim Family Watching T.V..jpg. Does it violate any rules of uploading photos to Wikipedia? Because, surely EA doesn't care that Sims videos are constantly being published on YouTube, Photobucket, blogs, etc. I created this picture, but didn't ask EA if the picture was okay, because they never listen to my questions. If it does violate any rules, please delete it. I have no idea how to delete articles.
Why this picture is a good one.
- 1. High Quality
- 2. The whole family is gathered, showing the diversity that can be created. (Parents, Teen, Toddler, Pet)
- 3. They're doing something that most real people do and can relate to.
I have another picture of the same scene, but it has a few things cut out of the shot. Tell me if you'd rather see that one, or just delete this scene and never bring it up again. Rj1020 (talk) 06:12, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
The Neighbourhood characters
a while ago there was a list of the premade characters and ther own pages, can we bring this back!!!i would but i dont know how!!!!(¬¬¬¬) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nedk16 (talk • contribs) 09:48, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure it was removed because it was deemed "trivial", "superfluous" and "fancruft". If you did restore it, it would just be removed again. — Frecklefσσt | Talk 19:05, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
New suggestion for the Resources section
Is it okay to add the Sims Resource (www.thesimsresource.com) to the list, as it contains quite a lot of custom content and tutorials? Thanks. --Marianian (talk) 14:04, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- No, if you look at the archives for the talk page I think the decision was not to include fansites unless they'd been written about in a reliable source and thus count as notable. It's not very difficult to find fansites, especially ones as large as TSR, and that's not the purpose of wikipedia. Kuronue | Talk 19:21, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
The Sims 2: Apartments
Excuse me, but are websites the only valid reference for information? It seems to me that if an EA product (Free Time) comes with information on a new product, that should be a valid reference. The information on the upcoming Apartments expansion was removed because it isn't mentioned on their website. Who knows why EA hasn't announced it on their website yet? But they did announce it in their latest expansion. I understand a Sims resource site isn't reliable. But can't we just use the flyer as a ref and use the resource site for a visual until EA announces it on their site? Or is the image just a Photoshop job? — Frecklefσσt | Talk 17:51, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- SnootySims has been a well-known site in the Sims Community for more than five years. It has been a reliable source for the new flyers in the past. There's always a risk that a source is inaccurate, but the same can be said about any non-fiction book and those are usually accepted as excellent sources. If we're at a reasonable level of certainty that the flyer is real, then it is a publication by EA of an upcoming expansion and therefore a valid reference. Having thought about this, I'm going to take the risk of reverting Jammy0002's edit and I'll also invite him/her to discuss this with us in the talk section. Ariadne55 (talk) 18:07, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- My apologies, I didn't realise there was a reference. Well at least I am right in saying that EA would have one last surprise for us before packing up Sims 2 altogether. Jammy (talk) 18:33, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
It now appears on the official site index as "Apartment Life". .:Alex:. 07:18, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- The official BBS forum have an Apartment Life subsection in the Expansion Pack Discussions section ! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.247.125.69 (talk) 00:17, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
