why delate my article on prof. Albrecht ?

Hi! This is a copy of what I wrote on my talk about my article. My name is Thomas Hardy, I'm a french student in archeology and I'm going to a summer camp excavation in Israel next week. I'm sorry if my user name raised some confusion, I guessed I lacked of imagination. Prof. Albrecht is the professor conducting the excavation and I just made a little bio about him, based upon the information I have, as I found nothing about him on the web (I don't know him yet, as he is living in Israel). I don't know the Ezida foundation myself (I was just quoting the excavation presentation I've got), and I'll be glad to have more information about it too ! It's my first contribution to wikipedia, what can I do to fix the problem my article raised ? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ezidafoundation (talkcontribs)

Controversy

I would like to informo you about a controversy I am having about this article and I would like to ask your opinion on the matter if you have some free time.

As I stated on spesific article discussion pages...

Andrew Schlafly AFD

You closed it even as I was typing my "Delete" rationale. I hate it when that happens. Exactly how soon, to the day, in your judgement, is it ok to nominate it for deletion? It seems like some want to bend over backwards to extend notability to someone like Schlafly, exactly because he edits an online encyclopedia which stands in opposition to Wikipedia. I really cannot find anything about him that would create notability for someone who was not the editor of Conservapedia. Having extreme views does not create notability. I wish the AFD had been allowed to run its course. Edison (talk) 19:42, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would much rather appeal your speed closure at the moment then take this to deletion review, where can I appeal your decision first? Tmtoulouse (talk) 19:44, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Heads up - WP:AN thread. Tan ǀ 39 20:06, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think that merger is a fine solution to the problem of having a standalone article with insufficient reliable and independent sources with substantial coverage to satisfy notability or WP:BIO. His role as editor/creator of Conservapedia can be covered in that article. Edison (talk) 01:37, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect for discussion

I have nominated your redirect Wikipedia:HELPTPHUser:TenPoundHammer/Country for discussion. You can offer your input at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2008 August 2. − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 16:36, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I noticed your signature would have been over the 255 character limit had you only changed the piped link. Did you just remove the <small> </small> tags around "and his otters" to fit it in? − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 17:00, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Al Jaffee

I noticed tags placed on the Al Jaffee article - which I have addressed. And then several alterations and tags placed by you on articles related to MAD that at first glance seems to me like WP:IDON'TLIKEIT which verges on harassment. Please be careful. Modernist (talk) 18:30, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are a little too many tags...and what was this redirect all about [1]? Modernist (talk) 18:37, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK lets just stay cool and do our best...Modernist (talk) 18:45, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've replied on the AFD page. Dalejenkins | 22:25, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seger discography

Sounds like indiscriminant info to me. It also doesn't go with the discography project style guide. Based on what I've seen, as I've just looked over, I think that chart history of albums and singles is supposed to be on a national level, not regional. I was also looking over the article a little and I think I saw a section that contains "semi-official" material. The hell's semi-official? Since I'm guessing that it's not strictly official, that sort of material should probably go as well.Odin's Beard (talk) 22:52, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

abc...

well it was the worst of the ones i saw, and i thought i'd see if anyone would agree with me that it was a nn, in the case someone saw multiple afds a bad faith noms. Ideally i would like to see them merged into a Sue Grafton alphabet series article since they are essentially identical, but i thought dravceky would veto that down very fast and stop if from happening, and i don't want any wp:own issues. what do you think? as for ricochet, like most of the alphabet series articles it has sources but i think they only establish verifiability not notability, i think all of them together may be notable however.MYINchile 00:16, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ahh... best seller list eh? didn't know that man.MYINchile 00:28, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

isn't one big happy article better than a bunch of lousy stubs? well if x author is notable and only 3 of x's books have gotten press, sales, praise, are the other 7 that were ignored, didn't sell, are hard to find, or just posted online for example, also notable? just curious about your/wikipedia logic rationale policy.MYINchile 00:49, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please, if you are going to put an article up for deletion, you should at least explain your intentions and reasons on the discussion page for that article. Since you didn't do this I have removed the template you added to the page. --LeakeyJee (talk) 03:20, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK no worries, but I do think in future it would be nice to explain your intentions in the talk page before you put up the deletion template, to at least give those who have put time and effort in to making reasonable articles a fair chance to get them up to scratch. Thanks, --LeakeyJee (talk) 09:29, 3 August 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Thanks

Appreciate it, respect for your boldness and open-mindedness. All it needed was a {{notability}} tag to get me to ref it up, for future consideration. Regards, Skomorokh 03:35, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IAR AFD Closure

I'm not entirely sure I agree anyone should close an AfD based on WP:IAR; debate is valuable and we have lots of time. However, I absolutely agree with the speedy deletion, per criterion A3, and I've added that speedy deletion template (Template:db-a3) to the article in question instead. --Falcon Darkstar Kirtaran (talk) 09:41, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, it isn't that bad, perhaps, but I'd hate to see it happen with any frequency. Most people would just vote "speedy delete" and let the admins who trawl through AfD deal with actually closing it. Incidentially, I noticed a mess at Maxwell Baumann, but I'm not sure what to do with it, because it doesn't quite meet G12. Any suggestions? --Falcon Darkstar Kirtaran (talk) 12:01, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nicktoons: Planet Quest

Oh, don't get me wrong, I know that the page is a hoax, and I'm not defending it in any way. I just wanted to comment on the nominator's assertion that this kind of crossover was totally implausible. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Cheers! Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 20:26, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rangers

Thanks for the suggestion, TenPoundHammer. I had already contacted the problem editor twice and s/he was pretty aggressive (as s/he had been with several other editors). But... third time lucky! Let's hope it stays that way. OldSpot61 (talk) 22:39, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

...for participating in my RfA, which closed with 119 in support, 4 neutral and 5 opposes. I'm honestly overwhelmed at the level of support that I've received from the community, and will do my best to maintain the trust placed in me. I 'm also thankful to those who opposed or expressed a neutral position, for providing clear rationales and superb feedback for me to build on. I've set up a space for you to provide any further feedback or thoughts, should you feel inclined to. However you voted, thanks for taking the time out to contribute to the process, it's much appreciated. Kind regards, Gazimoff 21:47, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to try and write an article about her previous band - let's see how that goes! As was mentioned on the AfD, being a member of two notable bands generally confers notability... Wheelchair Epidemic (talk) 23:55, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD for Yu-Gi-Oh turned into speedy delete

I guess I read speedy G4 incorrectly. Yu-gi-oh Abridged should have been speedily deleted instead of putting it up for discussion. See Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Yu-gi-oh_Abridged. Thanks for your help on this. Wronkiew (talk) 06:35, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey TPH

It's me, HisSpaceResearch. You may remember me from many AfDs that we both participated in. Basically, I've been mostly inactive on Wikipedia for around three and a half months, and I've only decided to come back just now (I started using huggle for the first time today, kinda testing the tool). Meanwhile, you've been editing a lot as usual, looking through your contribs, and I'm noticing you're still not an administrator, and en.wikipedia would totally benefit if you were one (I mean, you've got about 500 contribs within the past 48 hours or so, and in comparison my past 500 contribs date back to February). Do you want me to write an RfA for you? It's been quite a few months since your last one anyway, and I can see no good reason why you shouldn't be an admin.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 13:22, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you are interested, leave a note on my talk page. Thanks.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 20:21, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We all make mistakes; that's what WP:BOLD is for. I don't think there's reason to be afraid of coming under other editors' scrutiny, although it can be a gruelling process. I honestly can't see why other editors would have reason to criticise you because you've done so much work here on Wikipedia that you deserve praise more than anything else. Nobody's perfect. I'd like to write an RfA for you, but I'll leave you time to decide.--h i s s p a c e r e s e a r c h 20:40, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You reverted my edit of Encyclopedia Dramatica, claiming that what I wrote was not true.
