The Fairly OddParents: Wishology (or just known as Wishology) is the 9th, 10th and 11th The Fairly OddParents TV movies seen on Nickelodeon in the United States and YTV in Canada, featuring characters from The Fairly OddParents television series. In production order, this movie is divided in three 1-hour-long episodes: The Big Beginning, The Exciting Middle Part, and The Final Ending. Wishology is the first The Fairly OddParents episode to be broadcast in widescreen High Definition.

The movie features an animated version of the hard rock band Kiss as part of the plot, with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley voicing their Kiss personas "The Demon" and "The Starchild", respectively. Kiss also performs the song Rock and Roll All Nite, the first time a real world song was heard in The Fairly OddParents. Other notable guest stars are Patrick Warburton voicing the M.E.R.F. agents (a parody of Men in Black), and Brendan Fraser voicing Turbo Thunder.

The movie features spoofs of hit science fiction and fantasy film franchises, such as The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The Terminator, Back to the Future, Star Wars, Twitches, Doctor Who, and many others.

Plot Summary

Robots, called "the Eliminators", appear in Dimmsdale searching for the "chosen one". Jorgen von Strangle saves Timmy Turner from them and then transports him to Fairy World. There, Jorgen takes Timmy to the "Cave of Destiny" where he explains a legend inscribed in the rock about the ancient fairies that fought the Eliminators and their master, a giant black hole called "the Darkness". A prophecy is also inscribed explaining that someone with a pink hat, buck teeth and the initials TT is to become the "chosen one" and defeat the Darkness once more.

From that moment, Timmy Turner sets out to retrieve a special magic wand to defeat the Darkness. The wand turns out to be a star-shaped electric guitar guarded by the rock band Kiss. After defeating the Darkness for the first time, a muscular man named Turbo Thunder appears claiming to be the "real" chosen one. When the Darkness returns, Timmy must enlist the help of both his friends and former enemies to retrieve a second and a third magic wand, and with help from Turbo Thunder stop the Darkness and the rogue Eliminators once and for all.

Synopsis

Part 1: The Big Beginning

The episode begins with Timmy Turner (voiced by Tara Strong) wishing he was in his own movie trilogy (which parodies The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter). Timmy is interrupted by Jorgen von Strangle (voiced by Daran Norris), who sends him back home. At home, Timmy can't find Cosmo, Wanda or Poof, and his family and friends don't remember him. When Timmy screams out his own name, an "Eliminator" (a spoof of the Terminator, voiced by Gary Sturgis) shows up and begins attacking him. Jorgen saves Timmy and informs him that he has erased the memory of his existence from people in order to protect him. Jorgen also assures him that the rest of the fairies are fine. In reality, Jorgen turned all the fairies into gumballs and stuck them in a gumball machine in a truck stop bar.

Jorgen takes Timmy to a cave in Fairy World called the "Cave of Destiny" (a parody of the Cave of Wonders) where there is a legend engraved in the stone about the ancient fairies that fought the Eliminators and their master, a giant black hole called "the Darkness". In the cave walls there is also prophecy explaining that someone with a pink hat, buck teeth and the initials TT is the "chosen one" who will use a special magic wand to defeat the Darkness once more. Thinking he is the chosen one, Timmy sets out to "find the white wand in the rock sealed with a kiss".

After finding Cosmo (voiced by Daran Norris), Wanda (voiced by Susanne Blakeslee), and baby Poof (voiced by Tara Strong), Timmy gets chased by M.E.R.F. Alien Hunters (spoofing Men in Black, voiced by Patrick Warburton). They believe he is an extraterrestrial due to the fact that he doesn't seem to exist and that photographs have been taken of him with the Eliminators. After a battle of wits, Timmy uses the Alien Hunter's freeze ray and freezes them. Timmy then steals an airplane and ends up in a Kiss concert in Las Vegas. There, Timmy finds out that Kiss are actually "fairy guardians" and that the White Wand is one of their star-shaped electric guitars. Although initially they don't believe Timmy is the chosen one, they change their minds when the Eliminators and the Darkness arrive. Timmy plays the White Wand and forces the Darkness back with magical bursts from the guitar (similar to the video game Guitar Hero). The Darkness then retreats taking all the Eliminators with it.

With the Darkness defeated, the concert continues in Fairy World. Shortly after, a muscular looking man complete with a pink armor and pink hat arrives announcing himself as Turbo Thunder (voiced by Brendan Fraser), the real "chosen one". As he discovers that he is too late, everyone just goes on to enjoy the concert.

The End

Note: In this chapter Poof's new power is eating rings.

Part 2: The Exciting Middle Part

As the episode begins, Timmy Turner is basking in the glory of being the Chosen One in Fairy World. It turns out that he isn't such a hero after all, when it becomes clear that the Darkness has returned. Timmy wants to stay in Fairy World despite Wanda urging him to go home because she believes his parents are worried about him. When the Darkness devours Mark Chang's (voiced by Rob Paulsen) home planet, Yugopotamia, Mark goes to Earth for help. In the process, the Eliminators take transmutation belts ("Fake-i-fiers"), just like the one Mark uses to change forms. After escaping from the Eliminators, who now transform into various people, Timmy and Mark go to Fairy World to get help from the real Chosen One, Turbo Thunder. However, they arrive late as Jorgen has banished Turbo Thunder to an unknown place for being "annoying".

In the Cave of Destiny, Timmy and Mark discover a previously unseen portion of the prophecy, which is written in Yugopotamian language. The prophecy reveals that the heroes must retrieve a second magic wand on "the dark side of the blue moon". Afterwards, the Eliminators conquer Fairy World and imprison all the fairies. Timmy and Mark escape to Timmy's house through a portal that appears right on the cave's wall. Unfortunately, the Eliminators are already there, disguised as Timmy's parents and friends. Timmy manages to stop the Darkness and destroy the Eliminators by throwing various gifts into the Darkness, including a boom box, some roller skates, and some cocktail weenies. The Eliminators survive, however, and absorb the items Timmy threw into the Darkness. With the fairies and friends locked up in Fairy World's greatest prison, Abracatraz (a parody of Azkaban and Alcatraz), Timmy and Mark are forced to team up with Timmy's enemies, Denzel Crocker (voiced by Carlos Alazraqui), Vicky (voiced by Grey DeLisle), and Dark Laser (voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson), in order to go into outer space to find the Blue Moon and the second wand. Inside Dark Laser's spaceship the crew receives clothing which makes them to look like Star Wars characters. Along the way, they make a pit stop at a bar on Frigadaria (a parody of Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope). The Eliminators follow them and capture Vicky, Crocker and Dark Laser with ease. Timmy, only trying to be nice, shakes the hand of the Lead Eliminator (voiced by Gary Sturgis), and they all go haywire. At that moment, Turbo Thunder, the acclaimed real Chosen One, shows up and lies to Timmy to make him reveal the location of the second wand. To save their lives, Mark swallows Timmy whole and stows away on Turbo Thunder's spaceship. When they reach the Blue Moon, Mark regurgitates Timmy.

Meanwhile, in Fairy World's prison, Cosmo, Wanda, Poof, Jorgen, Mr. and Mrs. Turner, Trixie, Chester, and AJ all band together to help Timmy. Using kung fu learned by watching TV, Poof defeats a group of Eliminators and frees everyone from their prison cell. Together, they use Jorgen's magic to warp to the Blue Moon as Timmy passes the test of the guardian to get access to the second wand. Even with Timmy's friends and family successfully driving the Eliminators back with a combined magical attack, their reunion is cut short when the Darkness tries to inhale everyone. Timmy tries using the second wand, but it only puffs a big wind and does nothing. Timmy realizes the Darkness (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) only wants him, so he climbs the rope his friends and family made and gets pulled into the Darkness.

After Timmy's sacrifice, Jorgen and the others firmly decide to save him. The episode ends with the words "To Be Continued". This is the first The Fairly OddParents episode or movie with a cliffhanger.

Note: Poof's new power is martial arts.

Part 3: The Final Ending

After the cliffhanger in which the previous episode ended, Timmy awakens in his own room. He is told by his godparents that he used his Chosen One "powers" to destroy the Darkness, and subsequently Jorgen erased everyone's memories of what happened. After what he endured, Timmy simply wants a normal day but it turns into a disaster, so he wishes for the best day ever. As the day goes on, Timmy notices everyone acting weirdly and is alerted when confronted by Eliminators. The Eliminators are in fact the real Cosmo, Wanda, Poof and Jorgen in disguise, who reveal that Timmy is not back home in Dimmsdale, but that he is actually inside the Darkness itself. After escaping the Darkness, they return to Earth.

The Darkness wants Timmy safely back, but the Lead Eliminator, the one that first chased him, is still set on destroying Timmy; the Darkness subsequently destroys the rogue Lead Eliminator, and sends the other Eliminators to search for Timmy. However, the remains of the Lead Eliminator fall into Earth's ocean and he reassembles himself, even obtaining a new leather jacket. Back on the real Dimmsdale, Timmy reunites with his family and friends in the "Timmy Cave" beneath his house, and they relay what has happened so far. Instants later, the rogue Eliminator returns, and he absorbs Jorgen's wand, instantly obtaining magical powers. The Eliminator sends Timmy's friends and family into the Darkness, and then pursues Timmy to the Dimmsdale Mall. Cosmo, in a fit of heroism, transforms into a giant creature named "Coszilla" (a pun on Godzilla) to battle the Eliminator. However, Cosmo makes a stupid mistake and he vanishes all the magic wands they had, reverting back to his normal appearance. At that time, the MERF agents arrive with a big army and a large arsenal of bombs and missiles targeting the Eliminator. Despite Timmy's warnings that the Eliminator will absorb the weapons, the MERF shoots anyway. After absorbing the missiles, the Eliminator grows bigger, suffering a massive change in appearance, and now calls himself "the Destructinator". Subsequently, the Destructinator uses his magical powers to completely cover the Earth with a steel casing, in the process transforming the humans into his robotic henchmen. Timmy and his fairies escape the planet by using a MERF rocket.

Timmy and his fairies return to the Blue Moon to retrieve the second wand and run into a weakened Turbo Thunder. After a bit of convincing, Turbo Thunder reveals how to use the second wand, the Wind Wand, to "light the way". It is revealed that beneath the moon's surface are the remains of a society that used magic, and a lot of wands are found there, along with the final part of the prophecy. Timmy now has to find a third and final wand, hidden within the Earth's ice, and with all three wands (Fire Wand, Wind Wand and Ice Wand) defeat the Darkness once and for all. In the interim, Turbo Thunder tells his story about how he became the original Chosen One, picked by the Fairy Council. He tried to become the Chosen One to take revenge on the Darkness after it devoured his home world, "Wonder World", along with his family. As Turbo Thunder lost his opportunity to become a hero, he apologizes and admits that Timmy is the new Chosen One. Then, Turbo Thunder tries to train Timmy, and ultimately transfers his powers to him, who now dubs himself "Turbo Timmy". The group returns to Fairy World and frees the fairies by giving them wands from the Blue Moon. Timmy then returns to Earth to face the Destructinator as the Darkness catches word that Timmy returned.

The fairies peel off the metallic casing covering the Earth, and Turbo Timmy battles the Destructinator through space, finally leading him back to Earth where they crash land in the Arctic. There, the Destructinator reveals his ultimate plan to destroy both the Darkness and Timmy; he stuffed the Earth full of bombs and missiles so that when the Darkness sucked it up, it would unleash a giant explosion. However, Timmy manages to snatch the bombs' detonator and trick the Destructinator into absorbing himself all the bombs he planted; then, Timmy detonates the bombs, destroying the Destructinator once and for all. The massive explosion also melts the ice and reveals the third and final wand. Now, with Jorgen, the fairies, and Turbo Thunder standing at his side, Timmy must fulfill the prophecy and destroy the Darkness. But just then, Timmy realizes that all the Darkness ever wanted was a friend, but looking as terrifying as it did, everyone always thought it was evil. Instead of attacking, Timmy wishes there were Ice Wands on every planet of the Solar System, and using the combined powers of the three wands creates a giant smiling face in outer space, which smiles at the Darkness. After that, the Darkness becomes "the Kindness", a giant yellow happy face. Afterwards, a new Eliminator appears on Earth but, instead of attacking, it returns all of Timmy's captured friends and family, and also Turbo Thunder's parents. A celebration ensues with another Kiss concert in Fairy World, with Timmy relieved that he doesn't have to find any more wands.

The Total End!

Note: Poof's new power is his cute smile that is "the most powerful smile ever".

Cast

Continuity

  • During Part 1, as Timmy claims that he's had weirder mornings, he picks up a Magic Fairy-versarry Muffin (the main center point to the whole chaos in the first Fairly Odd Parents movie Abracatastrope) before setting it back down, saying "No, not that one."
  • This is the second Fairly Odd Parents movie that has Cosmo and Wanda's secret being exposed to Timmy's parents while this is the first time Timmy's friends meet them (Chester met them before in Fairy Idol but this is a retcon since Chester used his last wish from Norm's lamp to revert everything back to it was before he ever met Norm.) This is also the third time Crocker has seen Jorgen (The Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour and Abracatastrophe, both end with him losing his memories of Jorgen due to either magic or a severe injury), the fourth time he has seen Cosmo and Wanda (but in the episode "Pipe Down" he could not say anything due to Timmy's wish of no sound, also when he was fused together with cheese and captured them) but this is the second time he's seen Poof (the first was Cheese and Crockers). This is also the first time Trixie has ever met Timmy's fairies.
  • During Part 3, in the scene where the fairies look for the Ice Wand, Wanda looks for it in a van being driven by Vanilla Ice who was one of Cosmo and Wanda's former godkids (as seen in "Hassle in the Castle" and "Escape From Unwish Island".)
  • The Destructinator is the first person (rather non-human being) in Fairly Odd Parents history to be able to wish for devices without the need for a magical fairy or being of any kind (Chester and Timmy once made wishes from Norm the Genie) since he swallowed up Jorgen's wand in Part 3 and gained his own from it, though it was a pitch black star instead of yellow.
  • This is the first time Timmy has made a wish for Trixie, after she non-casually was asking for a unicorn. Strangely, this is the only time he made wishes when his family and friends were nearby, likely because they knew he had fairies.
  • This is the first time Dark Laser, A.J. and Mark played important roles in a Fairly Odd Parents special while this is where some of Timmy's other friends and enemies had important roles again, like Timmy's parents ("Abracatastrophe" and "Channel Chasers"), Crocker ("Abracatastrophe"), Chester ("Fairy Idol"), Trixie ("Information Stupor Highway") and Vicky ("Channel Chasers"). One can wonder if the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour trilogy can also be counted for Chester and A.J. had larger roles in the third special, and they both saw Cosmo and Wanda too (though Jorgen probably erased their memory of fairies including the minds of Jimmy Neutron and friends, though Nicktoons Unite! game series might have proved otherwise. Jimmy and friends met Timmy through a wish so its possible they're excluded because of it or because Timmy managed to trick Jimmy into believing they were "fairy computer programs" to him.)
  • When comparing the enemies Timmy has encountered throughout his life, the Destructinator might be the most evil enemy Timmy faced and the closest to actually try to kill him.
  • In Part 3, Jorgen calls the Destructinator "The Jerkinator", a reference to the final subtitle of the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour trilogy.
  • While this isn't the first time Trixie and Timmy might have kissed (except it is on the lips), this is the first time Trixie and Timmy kiss without any magical influence before or after (save for her debut episode, "A Wish Too Far"), coming from their feelings for each other (Trixie's feelings for Timmy are proven when they meet again on the blue moon and she tells Timmy that she admires Timmy's "brave and magical" side of him and she also cried after Timmy was sucked up by the Darkness).
  • This is probably the first special where Jorgen has shown his softer and more friendly personality towards Timmy the longest, which lasts throughout the entire trilogy, whereas Jorgen usually is more sarcastic and annoyed by Timmy.
  • This is the second time that the fairy talk show star, Billy Crystal Ball (first seen in "This Is Your Wish") appears. However, his eyes and hair are a different color but fans can recognize him as the same Billy Crystal Ball because of his voice. He only appeared in Part 2 when Wanda magically poofed him to his new set, the Billy Crystal Ball show set, after attending the statue unveiling at Fairy World City Hall.
  • This special is the second time Juandissimo and Cupid appear together. They first appeared in the Fairy Olympics special. Also, Cupid is the only holiday representative, Valentine's Day, to appear in a Fairly Odd Parents special after his appearance and the first Fairly Odd Christmas special.
  • The MERF agents, all voiced by Patrick Warburton, are the second characters to be voiced by the same person. The first was the Pixies, who are all voiced by Ben Stein.
