Speedy deletion declined: Neon Trees

Hello BigDom. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Neon Trees, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: "the group was voted Band of the Year in 2009 by City Weekly, a popular Salt Lake City publication." take it to AfD - assertion of notability. Thank you. StarM 04:31, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello BigDom! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 24 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 695 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Burnley F.C. season 1920–21

Looks like you did a great job with that 1920-21 article - it is really encouraging to see people working on articles about past seasons rather than just the current season. I hope I can do a similar article on the 1919-20 champions when I get round to it, though right now I'm working on the 1953-54 season, when Albion won the FA Cup but spectacularly collapsed in the league. cheers --Jameboy (talk) 00:28, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Deletion

Ok, I thought that I had heard of someone reffering to a club like that as a pheonix club but I may have been mistaken. Anyway, I think deletion is a bit of a drastic action, I think perhaps a rename would be much better. Can you think of a better page title? The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 19:04, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As I said, maybe it would be better if the page was renamed into something more appropriate so that it would fit with the description something like List of reborn and protest clubs maybe you can think of something better. Or maybe we should just change the description. The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 19:11, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I guess it's kind of a similar concept to List of stadium stands by capacity which includes both current and defunct stands in the same list. Well Ok, how about splitting the page into 2 different pages such as List of protest clubs and List of reborn clubs The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 19:18, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

David Wilson

Hello. Just to let you know I've moved it back, for the time being. Procedurally, we shouldn't pre-empt the outcome of the requested move on the talk page. And practically, now that Cattivi's come up with an approximate year of birth, (footballer born 1908) would obviously be the better name. Perhaps Pretty Green might want to withdraw the move request in light of the additional information. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 12:13, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

or I didn't think it should have been moved, anyway, clearly the admin who made room for it must have thought differently. I've been wrong before..... Will comment at article talk page. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 12:48, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Noticed you'd added the Hugman book (which I haven't got, so don't know how much detail it goes into) as a general reference on Peter Haddock. Duane Courtney

Hello. Was wondering what source you were using for Courtney's Telford stats, and for the 2003 start date at Birmingham. The Birmingham date is definitely wrong: this from October 2002 has him on the bench for a reserve team full of first-teamers. I haven't found anything online that says when exactly he did join, though. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:46, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Think I will remove them. As mentioned above, the 2003 date for Birmingham is certainly wrong, and (personally) I wouldn't consider a computer game to be a reliable source. Though if you're going to use it, you ought to reference it explicitly, not just add the stats as if out of thin air. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 11:15, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've followed up on each of your comments in the GA review. I moved the article as you suggested, which did not move the GA review page. I had to move that separately. I think I've got it all right, but in case you can't find the page, you chould be able to get there by looking at my contribution history.

Thanks again for taking the time to review the article and provide feedback. I really appreciate it. Please take a look at my follow up comments when you have time. --SkotyWATC 18:03, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've addressed the additional comment. You've done a great job reviewing this article and I welcome any other feedback you have while your mind is still on the topic. Feel free to take another pass through the article if you feel so inclined. I intend to take it to peer-review as soon as it is promoted to GA with the intention of getting it to FA some time this summer (hopefully). Your detailed feedback has been very helpful and appreciated. Thanks! --SkotyWATC 22:30, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your offer of references from the allfootballers site, which I will bear in mind. Thanks also for adding an article for Jim Hall, to which I have added a ref that he is Posh's leading scorer. I have also now added an article for Frank Noble, the other birth date I queried at Footy. Cheers. Eldumpo (talk) 20:32, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I want to create articles for two players who were with Crystal Palace in the late 1950s - Gerry Priestley and Harry Redmond. If you get chance, could you post some info on them from allfootballers. I can get some info from Neil Brown's site but unfortunately Priestley doesn't have a separate entry. Thanks. Eldumpo (talk) 08:31, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the Palace players. Does the allfootballers info include the actual year they joined a club, or is it on a season basis like the Neil Brown site? Eldumpo (talk) 20:37, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Turf Moor

Re the FAC, where sourcing had been raised - the definitive book on British football grounds is Simon Inglis' The Football Grounds of Great Britain. While most of the major things in its entry about Turf Moor are already mentioned in the article in one way or another, it does have some addition info worth putting in. For example, it seems that someone died in a crush during the match at which the record attendance was set. If your local library doesn't have a copy, mail me and I might be able to supply the relevant passages. Oldelpaso (talk) 14:58, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I'm a bit confused by your recent edits to Mr Smith. First, the {{BLP sources}} tag you removed isn't an "unsourced" tag, it's a "sources need improving" tag, and they do. Second, I think you must have misread Smith's entry in the Hugman book, because it doesn't mention him returning to Burnley after a month and to their first team in the December, or them releasing him in the summer. Nor does it mention anything in the sentence about joining Sheff Wed, other than he joined them: it has July 2003 not June, no mention of Hartlepool's promotion or a Bosman or Chris Turner. And Soccerbase doesn't have him joining Kidder in January 2006 or joining from Alfreton. Oddly enough, Hugman does mention the trial at Torquay, though not what the match was... cheers, Struway2 (talk) 19:17, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anyway, leave him, I'll finish off referencing him. Most of it's true, it's just a matter of looking for sources. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 21:18, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
