I previously removed a reference to Sterling Holloway (as the voice of the White Rabbit from the 1951 Disney film), because a perusal both of his page in Wikipedia and in IMDB indicate that he was the voice of the Cheshire Cat; neither says anything about him also being the voice of the White Rabbit. Unless this is documented to be correct, I think I should remove it again. --Markjoseph12518:52, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Matrix ?
What's about The Matrix ? "Follow the white rabbit" just in the beginning of the movie. It's known to be a constant parallel to Alice in Wonderland, but maybe it could be added - Chase 84.60.201.5122:29, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Good Luck-A co=worker of mine practices the habit of saying 'White Rabbit' to people on the first of every month believeing that if he says it first he will have good luck all month.
Nearly pointless article
The main content of this article serves as a tip-of-the-hat to things influenced by the White Rabbit; this seems pretty pointless. At the same time it seems rash to delete the entire thing; any suggestions on how to make this a better article? Quaeler (talk) 14:20, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. Wikipedia article titles are case sensitive. A white rabbit is a white rabbit. White Rabbit is a proper noun referring to a specific white rabbit. (Proper nouns are capitalized in English. Common nouns are not.) A disambiguation link should guide readers who typed the phrase with capitals to the correct page.--Srleffler (talk) 03:43, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. This is the primary topic for the capitalised name White Rabbit, in fact it's the only common meaning, so there's nothing to disambiguate. Andrewa (talk) 12:40, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
White rabbit is a disambiguation page with no obvious primary target. Until that is sorted out, the present title of this article makes sense because at least we have a proper article here. 75.142.152.104 (talk) 01:17, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The purpose of dab pages is to get people to articles. No prejudice on a move/redirect once there is a proper article to redirect them to, but we don't send people to nonexistent pages just because of a feeling that a subject we don't currently cover might be the primary use. 75.142.152.104 (talk) 01:21, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Put it this way, on the dab page are all more likely targets than the current article at this name, so it is not the proper target, whatever the case, so should be a dab page. 75.142.152.104 (talk) 01:23, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We do not create dab pages in advance for random words in the English language, nor redirect pages to them based on abstract concepts of what might be more likely. When there is a real reason to believe out editors will benefit from being sent to a different page then so be it. 75.142.152.104 (talk) 01:25, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support. This is not the primary usage of "White Rabbit", so this should redirect to the disambiguation page. 75.142.152.104's argument isn't coherent: there already is a disambiguation page for White rabbit, and it already does "get people to articles". 75.142.152.104 (talk) 01:27, 24 July (UTC)
Support. Although the current situation is relatively harmless, I agree that "White White" is a common enough spelling of white rabbit that the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is not the primary topic. 75.142.152.104 (talk) 20:08, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support "White Rabbit" is an alternate spelling for "white rabbit", and should redirect to the more likely values, and this is not one of the more likely values. 75.142.152.104 (talk) 20:11, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've struck out your !votes, as you are the nominator and you can't just keep adding "Support" entries. Let others have their say. PowersT21:29, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with this action. Although it may not be completely safe to assume that these votes are by the same person, we really have no choice. Even if there are multiple users voting here and even if they were each to each create a userid, then unless they use different IPs at least occasionally, we'd have to disallow their votes anyway as likely sock puppets. That might not be an ideal response but it's the best we've been able to come up with over the years. Andrewa (talk) 03:09, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the proposal was
non admin speedy closure, no move. Strong consensus was reached only a month ago - same nominator appears to be bringing up the same issue again. Clear consensus to speedy close. --Errant [tmorton166] (chat!)18:23, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The article is named incorrectly. The character is called White Rabbit (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland), and it currently features. I propose renaming the article White Rabbit (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland). 75.142.152.104 (talk) 00:06, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Speedy close and caution the contributor. No change to the previous nomination which was almost unanimously rejected, unless you count multiple votes by the same IP address which raised both RMs. Enough is enough. Andrewa (talk) 09:44, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I should also point out that this IP has a history of contributions which fall short of being disruptive enough to of themselves justify a block, but which are completely unjustified and unproductive, such as this one. Andrewa (talk) 15:46, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No per above, no no need for disambiguation and no but it may simplify things for some readers if white rabbit goes to white rabbit (disambiguation)! Because if we don't consensus to the page, if you don't help us there won't be any against anymore. There won't be anything. Nothing, no oppose, no speedy close, no comment, nobody left forever and ever. 75.142.152.104 (talk) 16:02, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose and agree with Speedy close. The article has a very nice dabhatnote that adequately provides for other uses. I do suppose that it is a cultural bias that makes this the primary usage, but that is true of all primary uses. Perhaps, in justification of the making of the proposal, the proposer grew up in a culture that did not honor Lewis Carroll and his work as highly as mainstream English-speaking culture does. --Bejnar (talk) 21:09, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: That may all be true, but the user talk page of the IP, their contibution history, and particularly their behaviour in the previous RM above suggest another explanation. We must assume good faith, but we must not continue to believe it in the face of evidence to the contrary. Andrewa (talk) 00:07, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is incorrect and should be changed. We are supposed to use the best known name used by English speakers. As far as I can tell, outside Wikipedia, NO ONE uses White Rabbit to refer to the character, they all refer to the character as White Rabbit (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland). White Rabbit is only used the disambiguation page. Keeping this page at "White Rabbit" is illogical. 75.142.152.104 (talk) 01:50, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Moved against clear talk page consensus, by a new editor; from the redirects and reverts of the talk pages in his contributions, it looks like the editor has had second thoughts and tried to move the pages manually, without success. Needs an administrator move to get the article back in place properly. McGeddon (talk) 09:34, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(That was me requesting that an admin undo a unilateral page move, at Wikipedia:Requested moves, rather than an oddly-worded start to a move discussion. Looks like Anthony Appleyard has declined and bumped it back to the talk page.) --McGeddon (talk) 12:09, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. To many people a White Rabbit is a white rabbit is an albino rabbit such as commonly seen in laboratories and as pets, not one particular fictional character. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 11:06, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Support move back to White Rabbit - Yeh, clear consensus existed against this move. It needs another move request to overturn the current consensus and to be moved back in the interim. As it stands this is the primary topic by quite a clear margin --Errant [tmorton166] (chat!)11:08, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I should point out that this should be moved back and the move request re factored to dicuss this move. Otherwise it is a case of forcing the issue ;) --Errant [tmorton166] (chat!)11:10, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Speedy close - the user who moved this page is almost definitely that oh-so-determined IP who put in all these move requests above. (We could do an SPI to verify.) If we don't speedy close this and move it back, we reward their new level of disruptive behavior. --JaGatalk12:08, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
