This is a list of notable Lingayats also called Veerashaivas, the largest community of Karnataka. Lingayats are also found in considerable numbers in surrounding states of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and also other parts of India and abroad.[1]
