ITN covering the hoax

The ITN article on the death hoax is hilarious, it claims "a hacker altered his wikipedia page"... its nothing to do with hackers, anyone can edit Wikipedia, god you think they'd at least do a little research before making stupid claims like that. Just shows how little the media know about the net doesn't it? TR (talk) 13:41, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a thought, seeing as they're both called Kay and come from Bolton --[[ HOW CAN I EDIT THIS PAGE???? Not as far as anyone is aware. --Robdurbar 11:34, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No. Coincidentally they are both Catholics and of very similar age, but did not attend school together since they lived in different parts of Bolton. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.99.38.221 (talkcontribs)

Given that this user 81.99.38.221 has been inserting the name "Pradeep" in various articles, I wouldn't trust anything written by him - I don't believe they both came from Bolton, either. Stephenb (Talk) 08:53, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why wouldn't you believe they both come from Bolton? They do!

Horwich

Does anyone know what part of Horwich he lives in, or where abouts he got married there?

He grew up on Whitehorse Close, at the top of the Pennine Road estate, until he was a teenager, when his family moved to the estate behind the Beehive. He was married at St Mary's RC Church, Chorley New Road, Horwich, and had the reception at Rivington Barn.

I am one year younger than him and grew up on the estate behind the Beehive pub. I have no recollection of him. Does anyone have an exact address or street name so i can try and tie it down? e.g. Purbeck Drive

Mr Blobby

I'd like to see a source for the claim he played Mr Blobby on noels house party 82.46.233.8 18:27, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Where did they get married?

On Vernon´s page in Wikipedia it says that he married Tess Daly in Horwich near Bolton, but on Tess´s page it says that they got married in Skelmersdale near Wigan! Not that it matters greatly though! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.96.73.243 (talk) 21:08, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He is not gay!

It says VK is gay but he isn't. I would revert it but someone has protected it, even though it is in a vandalised state! 86.144.203.127 (talk) 14:31, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Has the offending account (Or ip) been blocked (Oh and i wish Kay was dead, he’s so ANNOYING!) :D? Celtic Muffin&Co. (talk) 12:31, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What are you, twelve years old or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.134.198.65 (talk) 06:36, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And also, they got it wrong, this article was not hacked it was vandalized! And have you noticed just how a much a big deal MSN and Yahoo are making of this??? Like it's more important than the lehman brothers story... Celtic Muffin&Co. (talk) 12:45, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Then maybe the incident should be noted in the article then! Mark J (talk) 13:34, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has Celtic Muffin&Co. (talk) 14:06, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has been in the news, but it doesn't need to be in the article. This is not what he's notable for (TV is), and it's not an important part of his life. Further, in edge cases WP:DENY requires we exclude such content. Superm401 - Talk 09:45, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request

Just a small not to change E4 to E4 (Channel 4) to go straight to the page.

Correction: Change T4 to T4 (Channel 4) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Twsf (talkcontribs) 16:55, 29 September 2008

Catholic?

He was a pupil at a Catholic school; he married in a Catholic church. Is he currently a Catholic? If so, he should added to at least one of the relevant categories. Werdnawerdna (talk) 18:36, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

Am getting rid of "In January 2004, Kay joined BBC Radio 1 and presented an entertainment show every Sunday. In April 2004, he was given the 10 am – 1 pm weekend slot, which was previously hosted by Colin Murray and Edith Bowman and previously broadcast on both Saturdays and Sundays on the popular radio network. From October 2007 Dick and Dom took over Sunday mornings. Kay's show now runs between 10 am – 1 pm on Saturday. In 2008 he was one of a team of DJs who will fill in for Edith Bowman while she is on maternity leave along with Fearne Cotton and Nihal. He was also voted best dj." Bit in bold, as no citation and no clear connection to the paragraph --Duffman--

Deletion

Yeah, so I deleted "Kay appeared in the first episode of "Nathan Barley" where he was the main character in the story, "Rise of the Idiots," because he wasn't in that episode of Nathan Barley, or any other, or even the pilot. Let alone the "main character" -- that's completely untrue. There is a tiny hint of an appearance, I suppose, in the first episode where a magazine is opened and quite probably a PHOTO of Kay is visible, and the word "IDIOT" is superimposed over his chest. So, no, not the main character.

Sorry, forgot my sig. Jentizzle (talk) 02:42, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kay was namechecked in "Nathan Barley". A faceless man, which Nathan Barley claims to be Vernon Kay, walks past. Nathan Barely shouts "Oi! Kay-hole!" after him, to which the man makes an unintelligble reply. It's left to the viewer to speculate as to whether it was the real Vernon Kay or not. I agree, though, it certainly wasn't a "main role", even it was the real Vernon. 82.3.144.140 (talk) 12:24, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Honorary doctorates do not earn you the right to be called Dr.

"Vernon received an honorary doctorate from the University of Bolton on 9 July 2009, for services to entertainment, and so may now (if desired) refer to himself as Dr. Vernon Kay." It's uncited that he got the award anyway, and judging from the past of this page, possibly just vandalism, but honorary doctorates defintely do not allow you to be called Dr. Jezcentral (talk) 16:18, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Racy Text Messages

I hope this isn't excessively pedantic, but surely one "...exchanges racy text messages WITH...", rather than "...TO...". Just a thought. 82.3.144.140 (talk) 12:14, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
