KYNS (1340 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a talk radio format. Licensed to San Luis Obispo, California, USA, it serves the San Luis Obispo area. The station is currently owned by Mapleton Communications, LLC.

History

1340AM has been identified with previous call letters, KGLO, sometimes pronounced "K-GLOW" in the 1980s & 90s. After its local owners sold it to Mapleton Communications in 1997, the calls were changed to KYNS, which stands for "your news station." It aired programming provided by the Air America network until Air America's demise in January 2010. KYNS continues to feature local radio programs as well as other nationally syndicated radio programs.
